Electrolysis of copper sulphate

Here we are doing electrolysis of copper sulfate. From this process we obtain pure copper metal on cathode.
This method is used to to purify impure copper to pure copper!

As copper is a metal it's electro postive it get deposited on cathoad because it coninst negative charge on it however sulphar is non metal and thereby it's electro negative therefore it get librated on anode which consist positive charge on it

yes but it's mixed in water, so it hydroxide ions that are there in the negative anode, not sulphate

Electrolytic refining - Many metals such as copper,zinc,gold,silver,nickel,etc.are refined in electrolytic refining.In this process , The impure metal at anode dissolves in eletrolyte and a strip of copper metal is at cathode .Similarly,On passing the current through the eletrolyte the pure metal from Anode dissolves in eletrolyte and An equivalent amount of pure metal stick on cathode . Then the impurities settle down in beaker are known as Anode mud (Impurities)

In switch board the current is AC in nature therfore this reaction will not happen. You need DC current, for which you will require A cell or battery.
