- Liverpool came into 1967 in a position to defend their league title, but when they travelled down to play Bill Nicholson's Tottenham Hotspur on April 1st, they were on a five-game winless streak.
Three points behind in the league, they needed to turn things around quickly if they were going to finish the season as champions.

There is no doubt about it Roger hunt was playing injured , in those days squads compared with today were paper thin , so players were probably playing when not 100 percent fit.
This is the 1dt time I found out about hooliganism I was only 13 but on the coach the older boys were talking about taking the park lane end I did not know what they meant so I followed into the park lane I was shocked what I saw non stop fighting I stayed in that end but did not do any fighting
