Attractive but why not use thinner wood members to gain drawer space ?
Great question John. Two reasons, first I used three-quarter inch wood because I had a bunch of it in my garage. The other reason was because I wanted the inside of the drawer only big enough to fit the cans that I store in there without them sliding around. You could definitely go down to quarter inch if you wanted but the goal of the video was to make some thing that people could use with stuff laying around to build. I think with A thinner wood you get into building techniques that might be difficult for people to accomplish who aren’t every day craftsmen, if that makes sense. Using the three-quarter inch wood makes it pretty easy for people to use staples like I did, or even screws if they want to. I hope that makes sense.
Ross, what kind of wood did you use? I like how the stain looks on the "grain" of the wood.
I am pretty sure it is pine Tim. I've burned some of this stuff and it crackles and goes up quickly.
