    Hi can you plug in the Google WiFi straight into the ont box , bypassing the BT hub?

    I have Vodafone 100/20 over Openreach FTTP, get around 110 down on avg. I don’t use the Vodafone router, I have it running through a Unifi USG, into a POE Switch and Unifi UAP-AC-LR. Works perfectly and great signal around the house

    WI-FI 6 Router or Distributer such as Google Home will only make a difference to kit that is WI-FI 6 enabled. What KIT do you have that is able to receive Wi-Fi 6? You mentioned IPV6 during the video a couple of times, that is to do with with website pages and something completely different. EE is part of BT, all BT broadband will be rebranded to EE for retail customers, the BT brand will be for business customers only

    • @stevemarruk

      Very true I don’t have the WiFi 6 kit yet as not needed it but interested in investing

    I also used to have Virgin Media . I now have BT Full fibre . I get 1000mb down 120mb up . I got the BT discs but found them useless . So got 2 eero 6+ units . So I now get 560mb on WIFI . Also got 2 goCoax adapters . Similar to power line adapters but the goCoax adapters sent the internet via the existing Virgin Media coax i have in my home .
    Using the coax cable adapters I get 1000mb down 120mb up .

    I have the same BT FTTP as you, with price hike this is now £68.62 which is an eye-watering monthly cost. Analysing our usage, we (2 adults 3 kids) only ever seem to use a maximum bandwidth usage of about 500mb/s, so while the 900/110 product is a nice thing to have, it’s ultimately unnecessary for most people. At renewal I’ll probably be looking to switch to a cheaper plan with about half the speed.

    Good Video Steve we are waiting for upgrade by BT to FTTP should be in next few months not a fan of Google Tech I’ve always used Netgear. Wifi 6\6e is a growing standard with more and more companies supporting it.

    • @stevemarruk
      @stevemarruk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 🙏 yeah Netgear is okay most of them do the job i just like how Google does it but each to their own.

    Enjoyable video again Steve. I've recently signed back up with Virgin but agree their WiFi range is pretty poor. Not really looked into the Google Mesh but will take a look for future reference.
