Thanks so much for the review! I've been considering getting one for when I use rougher textured yarn to save my pinky. Lol

I just got a tension ring and watched a few videos before I found yours. You gave the best info on how to wrap it. I feel like my stitches are too loose using this ring but I normally crochet tight. I’ll keep practicing. Thanks for the informative video.

If you can crochet with those nails, you can do anything!!

Lefty here! I just received a pouchful of these rings from my Son & DIL for my birthday. I was REALLY struggling to make this work (it didn't help that I was using Caron Simply Soft (splits) & a Prym Ergonomic hook which is plastic). I was determined to get this to work because the Kids were excited to give these to me.
I normally bring the yarn up over my middle finger on my right hand but for purposes of this ring, I put it on my index finger on my right hand somewhat loose & ONLY went down as far as my middle knuckle (like how you show it in knitting). I only wrapped the peacock head & had the peacock facing the bottom side of my finger (not on top or on the side). This allowed for more space between my finger & the yarn so the tension could ease up & didn't impede my natural rhythm. I hope this make sense & helps the Lefty's.
It too bad the manufacturer can't make a ring where the peacock head faces left for the right handed people & a ring where the peacock head faces right for us lefty's. Even in 2023, the world is still primarily set-up for right handed people. Good Luck, Lefty's!

I'm left-handed and I've been trying for over an hour to get this to work. It's a great concept, but unfortunately like the other lefty commented, I just couldn't get it to work. My yarn keep sliding out from under the neck. But this was very informative. And I think your nails are beautiful! I just know mine break before they get anywhere near that long!

Hi Debbie! Thank you for the compliments ☺. I'm sorry the ring isn't working for your left hand. I don't know if it will work but try flipping it around so the head goes on first. Then drape the yarn around the neck. I'm not sure if the yarn would work better over or under the feathers. Maybe try both. Also experiment with the size and where to put it on your finger. If you try it, I would love to know it works. Thank you for commenting! Happy crocheting!

@@YarnNecklaces yes, I tried it with the head going on first. I'm going to keep trying it. Wrapping the yarn different directions and see if I can get it to work. Thank you!

I am also left handed, I put it on my right finger but upside down, with the peacock head facing down. It takes awhile to get use to but this way seems to work. Good luck!

I usually hold my yarn between the first and second knuckle. I would have to tighten the ring to fit there.

I purchased a ring and found it to be like you showed a bit tight. I am a tight crocheter/knitter to begin with but this seemed even tighter. Thanks fir the video. I watched others but they really didn't show you how the yarn is suppose to work and the wrap around to get it to work. More practice for me i think. 🙂

Is the ring you purchased adjustable? I found it helpful to adjust the tightness of the ring and also the position on my finger (for example: more towards my knuckle or all the way on) until I got it just right.

It might work ok if you are right handed but for us left handed ones it is almost useless. I have been trying to manipulate this thing for days and it just doesn't work properly if you hold your hook in your left hand.

Hi Clair, I'm sorry its not working for you left hand. I don't know if you tried this already but it was an idea I had. Try putting it on so the head goes on first. Then drape the yarn around the neck. I'm not sure if it would work better over or under the feathers. Also experiment with the size and where to put it on your finger. If you try it, I would love to know how it works. Thank you for commenting! Happy Holidays!

Your wearing it to high up on the finger that could be why it is so tight.

That's rude. Why do you care? She can wear her nails as she pleases and if she can crochet with them I say to her....you go girl!! She probably could get past your nails too.

Don't in any way intend to offend but long nails have gone out of fashion. They have found to be carriers of germs for one. You can't even wear nail polish in the food service industry & must keep nails short. Many Don't comply with this.
I went to beauty school and used to love long nails & getting acrylics done. Now though I think they look very fake and are a hinderance. They get in the way. I can't stand having long nails now. Just texting on your phone with nails sucks.
It's much more in fashion to have well groomed short nails and the functionality of having your hands working, not impeded by long nails. Natural is always better. Even if they are natural and long, they look terrible and AGE YOU imo. Actually read that in some article about fads that make you look older. Long nails is one on the list.
Just my opinion, no offense at all.
