Hello my name is Dave I really appreciate you making this video I have a mercury classic fifty 45 hp about the same year as the one in your video and it is not running like it should I was wondering if the repair manual you have would help me with my project if so where could I find one. I was also wondering if the lower screw is on the linkage arm controls timing only or can I use it for idle control too
Its ground controlled. Black is ground on the Magneto connection on your switch and black and yellow goes to the other side of the Magneto of your switch. The power pack will have a label black and yellow. B/Y
If I disconnect the killswitch and the motor runs, can I run the motor without the kill switch until I get a new kill switch or what needs to happen when this is the case of a bad switch? Sorry I am new to this and truly appreciate your expertise and help.@@hawkeyemarine
Not legally. You can run it but if you got kicked out of the boat somehow then the boat would keep going until it runs out of gas or hits something. @@kevdmiller5150
@@hawkeyemarine I finally got it had to run the timing up to 9 on idle and it is running like a top. Thanks for your videos I have learned a tremendous amount continue doing what you do love it

You can find the Clymer manuals online or on ebay. I also believe this site is good I just haven't purchase one from them. watercraftmanuals.com/
Have you checked the reed valves on this motor? Thanks for your video sir.
I don't remember? Thanks
I have a question about the kill switch connector, where does that wire go to and wht activates the kill.
