    👽Do aliens exist?

    • @jmclaughlin2009
      @jmclaughlin2009 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think it's statistically probable that they do somewhere -- the universe is a really, really big place. What I'm unsure of is whether said aliens would be in a form that we can possibly interact with. After all, these would be creatures descending from an entirely different evolutionary tree than ours. That means no common evolutionary ancestor that we inherit eyes, mouths, arms, etc from. There is no guarantee they'd resemble anything, even in the slightest way, to any form of life we know of on Earth.
      That being said, nothing is impossible with God, and this separate evolutionary tree could produce a rational species, given an immortal soul by God, that we could communicate with intelligently. The probability of that is so low, in my opinion, that I would call it an absolute miracle.

      There was a French scholar or psychologist that made a great observation on Aliens and poltergeist from people who supposedly experience these phenomenons there pretty much the same just one see the alien and the other doesn't. I personally do not believe aliens exist in the way Hollywood portrays but if the do exist and people are experiencing these terrors my conclusion is that their demons. I'm not sure if the movie the four kind is based on true stories or events but I seen the movie when I was not a believer but I remember thinking these aliens where a bit cynical and demonic.

    My grandpa was in Tianjin, China working on an airbase as a Marine at the end of WWII. He was a staunch Catholic, but what happened there made him sure there were things in the air. Pilots would go up and fly and come back spooked and report other craft much faster than them that had lights and could move in ways planes at the time could not. Higher ups came in and threatened everyone to stop talking about it and had to shut them up. He had a friend that was a priest that stayed behind after the communists came through and they had to leave. He said his friend was probably martyred.

    Thigpen says that Humani Generis holds that it's possible for a rational creature to not be immortal. See c. 15:10 (mm:ss) of this video.
    Thigpen should reread the document Humani Generis.
    Pius XII does not say what Thigpen claims in this matter.
    Rather, Pius XII disparaged the idea that God would have to grant the Beatific Vision to a rational creature out of some natural necessity in paragraph 26 of Humani Generis.
    In paragraph 36, Pius XII asserts that souls are the immediate creation of God.
    According to scholastic philosophy which Pius XII extols throughout the whole document, souls are spiritual substances, not having material parts, and thus not being able to be destroyed, i.e., immortal.
    According to scholastic philosophy, the soul is the form of the human substance.
    What makes a creature rational, is the fact that it possesses a soul. This is according to the same philosophy (scholasticism) that Pius XII extols in Humani Generis.
    Thigpen is pretty off on this matter, to paint the situation euphemistically.

    Science fiction writer Ray Bradbury wrote a short story called "The Fire Balloons" about a sentient alien race that never fell from grace because they are incorporeal beings...in other words, they are unable to sin. When they came into contact with humans, their sinfulness and suffering traumatizes them. The story is found in the anthology, "The Illustrated Man". There is another story in the same anthology called, "The Man", in which we learn that Jesus is visiting other planets with His message of hope and peace.

    I don't believe Christ would become incarnate in another species. This seems like it is offensive to pious ears to me. I'm with Matt that Mary has a particular dominion over the universe and that it is taught by the church that she is the highest of all creation. Our faith doesn't teach us to leave room for multiple mothers of Christ who sit at the right hand of God. What does that mean for her title as spouse of the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit has other spouses too? Again, this is offensive to pious ears.

Should that be a singular role or could that be shared with others? What is the significance of being Queen of the Angels, what responsibilities and honors come with that and can those be shared with multiple beings unlike being King of the Angels is reserved for God alone.

  • @myrrhsolace5875

    Don’t we also - of necessity - force reported experiences into categories that fit our beliefs (as do the angels-are-aliens crowd)? I’m thinking particularly about people who report reincarnation / memories of past lives. We must dismiss them as either lies, delusions, or diabolic deception to avoid heresy. My point is that we are talking about things that can’t be subjected to any sort of test that can offer 100% certainty to someone who believes a paradigm that excludes the hypothesis in question. Aliens on the whitehouse lawn in nuts-and-bolts spacecraft holding x-rays of their anatomy won’t persuade Prof. Daniel O’Connor that they are not demons or perhaps some construct made by demons in collaboration with evil human conspirators. If angels descended from heaven amid clouds of glory the devout athiests would insist that those aliens have technologybso advanced that it looks like magic. That’s where for us and for them, faith has to bridge a gap. You have to decide who you ultimately trust, even more than your own lying eyes if necessary.

And The Radio Telescope antenna was developed and built by my second E-mag Theory J. D. Kraus. So, they were not sliuches in this area of study. I personally asked Kraus about "life out there" and his answer was that he had no evidence but said the universe was "really big." Fir me, i find no compelling reason to believe in ET. He only mentions them briefly, but Neanderthals are an interesting subject. They were a different species, but they were basically like us. Neanderthals arose in the Middle East and Europe and were there long before homo sapiens ventured out of Africa. They were genetically close enough to interbreed with the homo sapiens coming out of Africa and acted pretty similar. They were good at making tools, they took care of the infirm, they buried their dead, and they're now thought to have been perfectly capable of speech.
    In fact, the more archeologists find out about Neanderthals, the more they have to tweak and adjust the "Out of Africa" theory to make it work. Bones have been found in Israel and Greece that are much older than when anatomically modern humans were thought to have migrated out of Africa, so scientists have had to say there were multiple waves of migration. There's also the Denisovans, which are even older than the Neanderthals. They lived around Russia and China and migrated down to southeast Asia. It's pretty funny to watch scientists bend over backwards to try to make their theory hold up. From a purely evolutionary stance, it seems much more likely that multiple human species developed independently from one another.

    I am an atheist and I consider it difficult that with the hypothetical discovery of other intelligent species, free and capable of ethical decisions, the Christian faith can sustain the story of "a creation of the universe that culminates in the human species", that "the incarnation of God has occurred in the human species to give us the fullness of its revelation", that "the original sin of the human being has brought chaos to all creation", including the civilizations of other species, that "the final judgment in which God separates good humans from bad, includes the destruction of the rest of the universe", etc. However, I admire Catholicism's openness towards this "aliens" thing and I just look forward to seeing how they explain that, once again, the holy spirit corrects the interpretation that the infallible church in matters of faith had held for two millennia.

    • @Justeelisjust
      @Justeelisjust 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      But Christianity already posits the existence of other created beings like angels and demons who are capable of ethical decisions. The existence of other intelligent creatures don't have to change the primacy of humans that is meant by "a creation of the universe that culminates in the human species". In Catholic teaching Mary has the rank even higher than angels which serves as a perfect example how a woman from Nazareth transcends much earlier and highly more capable creatures. "The fullness of Revelation" is about God's nature in sacrifical love and the special relationship the humans have with God in Christ, revealed in human history through human race, for human race. So, even if aliens were more advanced than humans in many ways, they might not be morally as advanced as humans which is in the core of likeness with God. And even if they were, God has always had His Chosen people, in Old Testament it was the nation of Israel from all other kingdoms and after Christ it was the Catholic Church from other religions. In similar way, the human race can be seen the chosen people, the priestly species, from other intelligent species in the universe. This is why I think it's reasonable to say that no Christian teaching is really contradicted even though our personal understanding of the limits of the God's creation expands if we happen to find extraterrastial life.

The mere fact of how and why it happened and that there would be another species on another planet created by God that also was in need of a savior to take on the form of the species in order to save them does not even seem rationale. And I am sorry, but Our Blessed Mother has NEVER spoken of any of this as she has been appearing on Earth, under many Motherly titles since her Assumption!! she has revealed many secrets that are vital to our salvation. If this were of any importance, she would have made sure that we were certain of it. Also, she is the Queen of Heaven. There is ONLY ONE HEAVEN. So if she is the Queen of Heaven, than she is the Queen and Mother of all races/species. Wouldn't she discuss this with us as she has many other things concerning salvation. I believe this is all rhetoric to cause many errors in the church, questions of faith and distraction from the real work of saving spuls that God has called us all to do as one united species... Anything that speaks to other species needing an "incarnation" also would reduce the role of our Blessed Mother. These are just open doors and invitations for herecy, doubting in faith and Satan's plan to again downplay the sacredness of humanity and especially the role of our Blessed Mother. I'm surprised that the simple problem of distance was never addressed. Unless Einstein was wrong and it's possible to travel faster than the speed of light, it seems that the possibility of there being a habitable planet close enough to make the trip is pretty slim. And even if it were possible to travel within, say, 1 mph of the speed of light, there's still the problem of time slowing down. I ain't no astrophysicist, but as I recall, if a craft travelled from only 100 light years away at just short of the speed of light, only a few moments would pass for those on board the craft, but when they got back to their home planet, 200 years would have passed. Can any astrophysicists help me out here?

    • @WilliamMoses355
      @WilliamMoses355 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are any number of ways to lean on the numbers. Maybe they cryogenically freeze themselves for long trips, or they just live as long as tortoises. Maybe Einstein was just wrong somehow (probably the least likely option in this list). A lot of sci-fi have speculated on a ludicrously big-picture level about ways to create shortcuts through space, in order to make the trip instantly (Stargate, Thor, Eclipse Phase) or shorter (Babylon 5, Star Wars). Maybe it wasn't all that far for them, if they normally live in the ocean (The Abyss, another improbable possibility) or some other dimension (Indiana Jones IV, definitely the worst movie on this list).
      I'm not arguing they're definitely here, just saying that "They're not here because we haven't figured out how they did it," is just a less racist version of "Ancient people couldn't have built these sites, because we can't figure out how they did it."

      Richard Baris experienced an encounter with a craft, and his account was scrutinized on livestream by two behavioral analysts/interrogators. He reported that just before the craft accelerated, there began visual distortions in front of its "hull". It reminded me of the theoretical Alcubierre drive, in which spacetime is expanded behind and contracted in front, but the craft remains in flat spacetime, thus unaffected by time dilation, G forces, etc. I know that Bob Lazar has speculated that the propulsion systems on the crafts he saw probably manipulated gravity so as to create "troughs" or "wells" in any direction, which the craft "slides" into. Interesting stuff.

    • @joshuacantin514
      @joshuacantin514 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      (not an astrophysicist, but I have a significant background in physics) While Einstein was correct that nothing can travel through space faster than the speed of light, it turns out that distances can still change faster than the speed of light. This is why there are galaxies that are receding away from us at faster than the speed of light. The galaxies themselves are not moving faster than the speed of light, but the space between us and the galaxies is expanding so fast that light from the Earth would never be able to reach those particular galaxies. There are theoretical proposals to harness this ability of space to expand (and contract) this quickly (see the Alcubierre drive and its derivatives/improvements). The main issue is that such proposals require enormous amounts of energy to work (well beyond our current capabilities) and some proposals even require "negative energy" (which may or may not exist). However, the proposals are being slowly improved, such that we don't actually know what are the practical limits regarding space travel.

    LOL, I Love It!
    One argument for why there would be no other inhabited worlds is to say that other human-like beings would also be likely to fall, necessitating another episode of Christ sacrificing his life to save them also. Since this would be a second act of infinite mercy & merit, and a problem for divine foresight, it simply would not be done. Worse, if generations after "Adam" a later person would fall, how would mercy and justice be able to discriminate between the guilty and the innocent? A second created world just ruins the whole scheme of Cosmological history. Thus, either there were aliens before we messed it up (Angels, etc), or there are none. But it appears that the Angels are not "human-like" enough to call them "aliens" in our sense of rational, civilized, mortal (perhaps) beings who live on other planets.
    So, NO, no other worlds. Unless, of course, Jesus likes to suffer on crosses, which makes no sense at all. Absolutely, He could have. But why do it?

    I’m a Catholic with a strong faith in God. According to what I understand, St-Thomas of Aquinas discussed the gap that exists between the lowest order of Angels and the highest intelligent human beings that would be explained by alien civilizations constrained into material really like us but far more advanced in terms of capabilities. Michio Kaku talks about the many levels of civilization 0, 1, 2, and 3. What do you think of that? According to my understanding, there would be several orders of consciousness:
    - Inert material at the quantum level
    - Vegetation level
    - Animal level
    - Human-level (Level 0 civilization)
    - Level 1 civilization (capable of dealing with planet mass and energy balance)
    - Level 2 civilization (capable of dealing with solar system mass and energy balance)
    - Level 3 civilization (capable of dealing with galaxy mass and energy balance)
    - Level 4 civilization (capable of dealing with dark matter dark energy balance)

    - Third Sphere of Angles

    - Archangels
    - Principalities or Rulers
    - Second Sphere
    - Powers or Authorities
    - Virtues or Strongholds

    - First Sphere
    - Thrones

I have just about always believe in Aliens, especially recently, as the governments and public have become more comfortable with the subject. Not little green men, though.
    I also think it's safe to say that higher dimensional beings are a given with our understanding of physics and theology seperately.

      They are demons !
      If we read Blessed Catherene Emmerich she said after Lucifer along with his angels rebelled and lost, they became demons. Seeing this transformation into becoming horrid demons a section of the demons repented and asked for mercy however God said No and they go to hell on the Last day.
      God did show some mercy on them though as instead of sending them to the pit He flung them over galaxies and they are called fallen angels or aliens. Some were flung in the surface of the earth and called Reptilians who have since made base under Antarctica. These shapeshifters have assimilated themselves amongst us.

    Of course having several children would not take the love away from one. But that is not the case with their being aliens in the universe. The case with their being aliens in the universe would be like if a father had another family he didn't tell his first family about, and when the first family finds out he says: "Hey! Just because I have another family that I didn't tell you about doesn't mean I don't love you guys! C'mooon, we good??"

    I would love to see if we show with LA Marzulli, Jimmy church and Richard Dolan. And see how they can connect Christianity with the whole concept of space aliens UAP’s‘s UFOs. I just saw a program by One of the makers of countdown of the kingdom I forget to which guy it was. Did a short program saying that all space aliens are probably demonic. I watch this entire program and nothing was brought up on the concept of space aliens being demonic. I wish you guys would do another show and bring it to a deeper level of the possibilities of what is taking place that people are seeing and calling UFOs. I feel like we are seeing things all over the world that are hard to understand and I follow do you have a community pretty closely. Because I’d like to know the truth of what’s going on around me. I believe we have deep dark government programs that are doing experiments making craft the people do not understand what they’re saying. And it’s not even people from space but human beings playing with expensive and experimental spacecraft that is top-secret. I don’t know where I stand on believing in other human like beings in space but I do believe if they’re out there we should be called to baptize them as the Bible says we should baptize all creatures. Anyway this is some of my thoughts. I felt the show didn’t get as deep as I was hoping that you would get into the concept of aliens in Christianity I feel like you just barely skim the surface and at the end of the show you kind of lost talking about the subject and started meandering to other things. But thank you for at least attempting to put a show like this together I think there is a lot of lost Christians believing that space aliens could be new saviors of the world and this needs to come to a close I don’t think extraterrestrials are going to be a better savior to human beings. I believe we are to bring Jesus to the ET community not the other way around.

      The video is called "Imminent Alien & UFO Deception -- Exorcist Fr. Dan Reehil & Daniel O'Connor -- Resist The Coming Lie". BTW, they didn't say that an "alien appearance" would "probably" be demonic, they said that it would definitely be demonic, because alien life is IMPOSSIBLE, and even went so far as to say that claiming otherwise would be contrary to the Catholic faith. This disagreement is going to be more than a little interesting. I have the highest possible respect for both Daniel and Matt, but both sides are so dug in that it looks like we're headed for the Gunfight at the OK Corral.

    Question for those here. How do we know that all of this _isn't_ synonymous with Angels/Demons. I'm genuinely curious in that regard. It is a matter of semantics, but in the end could "alien"=angel/demon? Why or why not?

    • @caterinadc5567
      @caterinadc5567 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think under one interpretation, sure, we could say that angels fall within the definition of "alien", if by "alien" all we mean is a "creature of God that isn't originating from Earth". But if by "alien" we mean to specify something that shares in the property of having a material body, like cows and humans do, then angels wouldn't fit that criterion, since angels are spirit only. And I think usually when people speculate about 'aliens', what they're trying to speculate about is something that has a physical body in the same way that humans and cows (and ravens and whales) have physical bodies.

    • @johnbeyerym2771
      @johnbeyerym2771 ปีที่แล้ว

      Demons are spiritual beings but can manifest in the physical world and theoretically could take on any form they want. (Jesus permitting) Scripture tells us of angels taking on a physical human form and demons possessing humans.
      So any alien sighting could possibly be a demon however it seems to be a bit of a stretch to say demons if the alien leaves behind technology or even a dead alien body.

    • @caterinadc5567
      @caterinadc5567 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@johnbeyerym2771 Agreed it's a stretch. I personally like Jimmy Akin's interpretive approach that a phenomenon should always be taken at face value unless we have evidence to the contrary.
      So, when I pass my neighbour in the hallway, I should assume she's my neighbour, not the CIA in a rubber mask, or an alien using holographic technology, or an angelic being presenting in human form, even though a novelist could make up any of those scenarios.
      Or if a mysterious phenomenon manifests as a haunting, with rattling chains and the sound of "ooOOoooOOohhhhh..." we should examine the evidence for and against it being a haunting, but not jump to "aliens" as one of the primary theories needing examination, even though a novelist could construct a scenario in which aliens imitated a human haunting to amuse themselves.
      Or if someone claims they were taken aboard an alien spaceship and probed by aliens, we should examine the evidence for and against aliens, and not jump to "demons" as one of the primary theories, even though a novelist could technically frame demons as having tried to give humans an impression of aliens, etc.
      Like, many things are _technically_ possible (on at least a theoretical level, even if not everything actually happens). But technical theoretical possibility isn't evidence in favour of a theory more exotic than the actual evidence points us toward, and it's typically best to follow the actual evidence where it points. (I say "typically" only because sometimes the point of a conversation may be "fun", not real truth-seeking, and okay, if buddies are just trying to have a fun "what-if" conversation about aliens masquerading as ghosts or something, I won't be the buzz-kill unless they start to take it seriously.)

    This is an interesting topic and I make this comment without having watched the entire video. But perhaps the Dr Paul could address what I see as the most fundamental flaw in the concept of rational aliens which is polygenism which goes against the Church teachings. Pope Pius XII in 1950 specifically addressed the problem of polygenism in the Encyclical Humani Generis:
    [T]he Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter…..When, however, there is question of another conjectural opinion, namely polygenism, the children of the Church by no means enjoy such liberty. For the faithful cannot embrace that opinion which maintains that either after Adam there existed on this earth true men who did not take their origin through natural generation from him as from the first parent of all, or that Adam represents a certain number of first parents. Now it is in no way apparent how such an opinion can be reconciled with that which the sources of revealed truth and the documents of the Teaching Authority of the Church propose with regard to original sin, which proceeds from a sin actually committed by an individual Adam and which, through generation, is passed on to all and is in everyone as his own (Humani Generis, 36-37).
    Alien lifeforms would contradict this teaching of the Church as they would not be men or rational creatures that took their natural generation through Adam. Whether these creatures are born here on earth or on another planet is irrelevant to this fundamental teaching.

    • @bigfootapologetics
      @bigfootapologetics ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't they address this, though, in the discussion about rational souls? Pope Pius XII excludes, in this quote, the possibility of the existence of "true men" who didn't take their origin from Adam, but Neanderthals, aliens, and other hominids aren't true men in the sense of Adam. It's the same explanation I've seen regarding the other humans encountered by Cain and the possibility of theistic evolution.
