contentious plan > epiphany p2, you have so many counter synergies that the proliferate is really valuable, its basically an extra activation of each PW you have. too many 4's is also bad and its generally better to get a 2 drop.

No rares as my rares were elderspell, mizzium tank, and soul diviner. Would've gone soul diviner if it wasn't pack 3. Bots only passed deliver unto evil. Feels like forcing proliferate isn't as reliable as just picking good cards. 2-2 against some people with vivien + ajani, liliana, and a lucky kefnet. Ah well. 2-2
Yeah, this deck had absurd sinergies, but got a lot of excellent uncommons you can't count on getting everytime. So far it seems five colors goodstuff wins more reliably than expected.
Is it just me or is the shuffler on mtga a little weird? I notice with a lot of streams/videos there are a lot of instances of flood/screw despite having an appropriate amount of lands in the deck. I just never see this kind of thing in paper magic as often as it happens in arena
It's always hard to actually tell for sure. Anecdotally though, yesterday I had 3/10 games with mono-red 19 lands where I drew 4+ lands in a row. So that was a fun evening.
@@nathanberens6270 I feel your pain man. I actually have an excel sheet for this and it's not just lands. There are other weird anomalies. Example, I have a mono U deck with only 12 creatures and the rest being instants and sorceries. 3/10 games, I drew 6-8 of my creatures in a row. Another deck I have has the opposite with only 12 instants and the rest being creatures. 3/10 games I had drawn 5 instants in a row. I find that arena has this weird batching thing going on where you draw a large number of the same card type even when the card type has less of a statistical chance of being drawn. It may be in small amounts but still there's something off
It happens on Mtgo too. In real life you don't truly randomize your deck: you break apart land piles while shuffling, and, although partially randomized (you can't tell which cards are on top) the distribution isn't the same as when a program shuffles.
@@mrknarf4438 Interesting. In that case, I feel that the not truly randomized shuffle works better. It's never fun when you or your opponent can't do anything for a few turns
@@Smaul002 I agree. I think Mtg should implement something like an emblem both players have that says "Exile two lands from your hands: draw a card. Exile two non land cards from your hand: reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a basic land card and add it to your hand. Then shuffle your library". It would still be a disadvantage but not as punishing. Perhaps only in limited, where this problem is more present. I feel it's one of Mtg's biggest issues.
Is just me? Or does drafting with bots result in a lot of easy mode drafting? With humans you actually have to try to find your lane because some humans are stubborn and fight over their favorite archetype while another one passes them by. Bots don't really do that.
...and that's better, isn't it? It's like drafting at top level all the time, when someone isn't going to force his favourite archetype, change colors pack three for no reason or just draft random stuff sending mixed signals.
I really prefer the MTGO drafting window. Arena's is too messy. You can't arrange your cards, you can't adjust the sizes, etc.. they sacrificed too much functionality to make it look pretty.
