I really like the simplified style of this. For me as a father who works full time, I just don't have the time or patience for really complex survival games with lots of stats and features to manage, but I do enjoy the genre, so the more casual style of this is very appealing to me.
I recently purchased this because of the June Steamfest, they had a free demo available and I spent an easy 6-7 hours in the game! As soon as I saw it go on Early Access I was so tempted; I eventually gave in a few days ago and this review definitely confirmed my choice. It's beyond relaxing. I think the Combat will get a LOT better, especially since they estimate 2-3 years for the development. It's awesome that they're dedicating time and patience with the development, it's evident throughout the game. The graphics, too--just beautiful, overall.
So far the game is really fun and every action feels rewarding. The dungeon can get a little dicey when you go deeper into it. I died for the first time yesterday when I ran into a mob of 10 monsters, 2 of which were twice the size of the ones you saw on my stream.
@@MediocreMilton Cool! I'm glad the dungeons seem to get more difficult then. Better rewards! I tried to get it a bit ago, but it still wasn't available so I'll keep an eye out. Great review nonetheless! That & seein your stream piqued my interest as to where it can go down the road. 👊
I'm gona be honest, usually when i look for a review, i look more into opinions, pros and cons, and maybe a litle explanation whats going on in the game. I rly dislike when ppl give tips and teach how to play a game in a review, sry if i sound mad, but i just wanted to leave my critique to you
I don't know where else to go...I explored the whole cave..lit up the pillars...I'm stuck...lol...even swam north in the water and found a secret sword... you can upgrade your back pack in town
Playable with weak graphics card? All my macbook 's Data is good only the weak graphics card.... is there a Menü to turn the graphics down. ... Thank you
hay Milton I've been following you for some while and we like the same games so i always watch your reviews they very good . I'm a bit behind still haven't done grounded but also i don't have a lot of time im done with scrap mechanic for a wile so just wanted to know what should you say i should do next if i had to chose 1 . grounded, lens island, something ells ??? please and ty in advance
Len's Island you can do everything currently in the game in 25-30 hours. Grounded will take you 50-100 hours and it's getting a big update likely in February. You could play Len's Island now and wait for the Grounded update and play it in a few weeks.
There's currently the two. The islands as shown in most of the video and there's also an underground dungeon which I showed briefly in the combat section. There are also a few blocked off caves that I assume will be accessible in future updates.
and on another note i dont mind a game that stay in early access long , as long as the updates and new content gets added frequently. but if its going to stay like this for the next 3 years mmm that's a diff story
I hate after u die the item u loots where also gone and when ur character fall in the bridge or in the village bay its pain in the ass to swim around to find a flat land lmao I hope they update and fix it
This game is good but please wait atleast a year to play this game i bought it last night and completed it within 7.30 hours its not worth the £19.49 ATM its worth £6-10 given the hours of play
For 27 euro's(sale) you get No mans sky but even full price with all the past updates is an option. This demo of a promising game is way way overpriced, i fully agree.
11:28 You said, "Instead of being made out of wood they're made out of, I think it's, 'ornate'." Dude, "ornate", isn't a material. "Ornate" means that the item or structure is decorated. Usually with carvings or an intricate design of some sort. A lot of games have items, especially in crafting, that are prefaced with the word, "ornate". Are you saying that every time you've seen this word, that you thought, "ornate", was the name of the material that it was made out of? FFS...
It is not possible to learn every crafting recipe or obtain every weapon for every set in 2 hours. I'm 12 hours in and just unlocked all the crafting recipes but have barely scratched the surface on the weapon sets. I also made it maybe halfway through the dungeon. Does the game have hundreds of hours of content right now? No, but it definitely has a few dozen if you want to unlock everything.
@@MediocreMilton But do you need to unlock everything? There are those who play to finish and those who play to complete. I keep hearing the same thing over and over and that is the time to finish is VERY short for a $25 game and unless you plan to spend time doing aimless things like building.. which I have interest in doing.. then it sounds like you pay $25.. finish in a few hours the have a game in your library with a very short shelf life because you are waiting on updates. And one issue with this is that it becomes too easy to be over leveled so that when a new update drops its not challenging and your back to a short shelf life.
@@MediocreMilton Generally a point of a game is to complete the main objective, not complete it 100%. That is just cave man brain thinking you need to get 100% completion achievement. Is one way more wrong than the other, of course not. Point is to have fun. But for someone like me who doesn't have hours every day to play games, I want to fuck around, finish the story and move on to the next title. :D
How can you, "be poor at managing your stamina"? Every game I've ever played that had a stamina bar or resource, required no, "management", at all. All it was, was a bar that would deplete while running, swinging a tool, blocking attacks, or fighting. When you ceased to perform this action, the stamina bar would begin to replenish itself. That's all there was to it. No management required.
Not sure if it's the same but I've played both Ooblets and My Time At Portia and both of them have a daily energy/stamina system for crafting, cutting, collecting etc. You can use items to regenerate energy. Since I wasn't used to that, am used to collecting everything I see and am impatient as hell I sucked ass at it in MTAP and kept wasting days

Same! Literally just put the wee one to bed, shes working late, cracked open a cold one.. ahh bliss
You can water 4 at a time, so build square plots.
To water all 4 stand in the center of one of the plots aiming diagonal at the other 3.
No durability bars??? Shut up and take my money! And keep the change! And here's some more for the road! You're welcome, bloody hell. FINALY.
For now...it's still in early access ;)
Amen. The moment I see a game where I have to repair items, I am completely turned off, ain't no time for that.

it kinda remind me to the sim castaway ps2 back then
Nice stream, I personally think it has good potential to grow based off the quality of the initial product
For sure and it looks and sounds amazing.
It looks pretty good & everything seems to have a purpose. I like the fact that it doesn't seem too punishing either. Lookin forward to it! 👊

So do you plan to also stream this along with making videos on this or are you going to play this in your own time?

Its not a review tho
I thought this was a review? Not a bloody walk through for new players....
Overview of the overall gameplay, worked great for a review imo

Did you beat the Voidboar?
It's worth your time if you love indie games. I play it almost every day :)
Any chance of coop In the future...?

Are you any relation to Mundane Matt?
I want to play this as a stationary game.. i want to build a house but i want it to be a home, is there furniture crafting systems?
Is it possible to Control the game only with mouse?
Looks good but no updates since February. Think ill have to pass.

Reminds me of Force of Nature.
its just my pc or this video has very low volume?
this game has Devlog on youtube
Prefer the old, scripted- review style ! It’s much more straightforward to the point.
Dysmantle and Flotsam are very nice.
Dysmantle is great and Flotsam could be too but it’s taking forever to get the game finished.
Love this Game!!
This game is probably going to be good. They already have a lot in the game so far I like how they said there’s about 80 different weapons
That water blue af tho
Are there different biomes?

@@MediocreMilton There's only one dungeon?
@@211tfahey it's pretty lengthy and not something to take lightly. Also there's a boss
id buy this and start playing it but not for 35 bucks.
It’s $24.99

If you like survival games then I'd definitely give this one a try.
Nice sack!

For what it is for the price it ain't worth shit
kind of seems like sims mixed with stardew
stardew maybe, but not sims at all

@@donthunder5288 on steam for 19.49
or buy it knowing its early access and know you are supporting the development.

it’s a little weird to play
muck
muck is good
Muck is definitely worth checking out since it's free and pretty fun to play.

fuck paying for games
