    The CNAME DDNS trick you showed in your video is awesome. I just finished watching a few more of your videos and put it all together for a new domain/subdomains, CF, Firewall, SSL, reverse Proxy with DDNS. Thanks!!!! Easy one to subscribe too. I honestly thought this was going to be a weekend project but with your videos it made it quick work.

    Comment section was empty so here I am. Love the videos. Even if I'm not implementing everything you discuss, it's great to have a base understanding of what things are and how they work.
    Side note, My OpenVPN config was working great on my mobile data until I switched states so now I'm constantly in roaming and for some reason it doesn't work now. I suspect it's to do with IPv6 implementation on my carrier's end but I could be wrong. Either way, would love a video on how to enable IPv6 on the VPN Server. I've been looking into it and I'm at a complete loss so far lol

      I will add this to my list and hopefully get to it in a future tutorial! Theoretically, it should work similarly to IPv4, but I know there are some other complexities.

    Thanks for the helpful video. Question: do you know if Bot fight Mode is compatible with Siteground Security plugin? I Just set up this site that is hosted on Siteground (and comes with that plugin installed) to use Cloudflare DNS. I see it says "Other security products cannot be used to skip Bot Fight Mode" on the cloudflare note so wanted to check before activating.

    • @WunderTechTutorials
      @WunderTechTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I unfortunately don't use Siteground, but I'd imagine that it would work (though that is nothing other than an educated guess). The traffic will go through Cloudflare first which makes me think it would work, but reaching out to Cloudflare might be your best bet. My apologies for not having an answer!

    if you already have a hosting plan with a registrar, and have your domain name with another . how will this work with cloudflare ? how much GB will they let you use on the free plan ?

    • @WunderTechTutorials
      @WunderTechTutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should work the same! You will have to add the Cloudflare Nameservers onto your registrar, but it will then crawl in all of your DNS entries and you should be functioning the same.
      The only caps you will run into is the Cloudflare free tier limit (firewall rules for example). There is no GB total though.

    I am a newbie with cloudflare and trying out its free plan product the zero trust. I used the abuse report form of cloudflare to report phishing sites and I am searching a faster way other than waiting the report to take action. I have several customers (domain holders) that want me to block the phishing sites related to their domain that are imitating their brand. Can I block the phishing site via using zero trust?

    • @WunderTechTutorials
      @WunderTechTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's going to be used for some sort of enterprise security mitigation, I'd really recommend reaching out to Cloudflare directly. I don't want to give you bad information and they would certainly have better input.

    Im trying to figure out if its good idea to use cloudflare for such services like Synology Drive - file sync etc ? And secondly, can a VPN (ssl) e also proxied ? Some how i cant get it dont and in some way i understand why.. especially using built-in reverse proxy on syno.

    • @WunderTechTutorials
      @WunderTechTutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you're exposing Synology Drive, it can't hurt. You won't see the benefits that a CDN is truly designed for, but it can't hurt to put Cloudflare in front of it. Especially if you'd like to mask your home IP address.
      For your second question, do you mean proxied with a domain name? If so, you can most likely get it to work if you're not using UDP. I don't believe that you will be able to get it to work with UDP, but if you're using TCP, you should be able to use it by pointing the client to the domain name and port 443, then having the reverse proxy server point to the correct internal TCP port.

    • @RK-ly5qj
      @RK-ly5qj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WunderTechTutorials yes thats my goal to hide an IP behind CF. But ive got some questions about some features like, "maximum upload file per request" where you're using free - then its 100mb. So for file sync it might a bottleneck and mostly useless. I did try to upload 4gb or 7gb file. It wasnt any problem. But im just wondering whats is really for. Regarding VPN - you are right im using UDP cuz of performance. So it will not work at all thru CF - so thx for realizing ^^ im still looking for explanation regarding certificates section, what can we do with it how to config it, where there is a bunch of options including generating some certs.. its a good idea for next film ^^ 😀

    • @WunderTechTutorials
      @WunderTechTutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RK-ly5qj I will keep that in mind for a future video!
      The 100MB upload is a good point, and one that you can get around by using "DNS Only", but that might defeat the purpose if you want to mask your IP. Unfortunately, this might just be a free tier downside, but if it is working, can't hurt to leave it!

    Apologies for the spam haha. Firstly, thank you for posting these videos. I just got my own domain, now trying to reverse proxy with it, how do I set a subdomain to go into that reverse proxy? Thank you

    • @WunderTechTutorials
      @WunderTechTutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You will need to point an A/CNAME (A for static IP/ CNAME for dynamic) to either your external IP address or your dynamic DNS hostname (DDNS). At that point, the domain name will point to your local network and as long as your local network is set up properly, you should be able to access your service!

      You would go on your registrar and stop using the Cloudflare Nameservers.

    • @WunderTechTutorials
      @WunderTechTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว

      It'll be hard to cache data if there is dynamic data. You're most likely better off trying to see if you can delay javascript, minify CSS, etc.
