I love it! I had a 6x8 built also & I went to Walmart & got cheap large area rugs & for my floor & wall where our knees go & black roofing tar paper on back & side walls & door. I want the shooting table now!
Some cheap insulation and an inner wall material would greatly cut down on the sound. I'd probably go as far as to insulate and close in the bottom side of the floor. That plus some sound dampening carpet and you should have that thing quiet as a church mouse.
For a shooting rest or shooting bag, cut the two legs off some old camo jeans or regular jeans and fill with corn. Corn is lightweight, but still supports your gun. Sand is heavier and can be used as a doorstop. I used the jigsaw- edged anti-fatigue mat you can buy at Lowe’s for my floor at my reloading bench, so I bet it’d work inside a shooting house too, not so well with the office chairs, though.
Searched for videos for a permanent stand and ran across your videos.. I love the shooting bench and your idea with the stairs. I subscribed and will be trying my hand at your handiwork thank you so much for sharing!

Very well built blind sir that will last for years to come my dad built a shoot house very similar to that one and we hunted in it for atleast 18 years before we had to replace anything and the only thing we had to replace then was the stairs and door but the way you did your stairs I think you’ll be in good shape for a long time.

Great video! So your door is the paneling with 1x4 around the outside to trim it out and make it more rigid. Then you attached a piece of plywood on the inside to make the door sit in the opening a little better?
No the door is the thin bead board trimmed in 1x4s. I didn't add any additional plywood inside. It's a thin door, but has held up very well the last few hunting seasons. Additional plywood on the inside of the door wouldn't hurt and would be a good idea.

The inside osb roof was just held up and screwed to the center truss main ridge support. Then blocks of 2x4s were screwed to the wall top plates and a lip or overhang was left protruding into the house to screw that same osb roof to around the wall peremiter. Thanks for the info! Have had my 16’ 5x6 tower up for 2 years now and have yet to build a nice set of steps, I ended up using a old metal ladder stand turned backwards,ended up being the perfect height and gave me a little platform at the door. But that’s getting really old climbing a vertical ladder, you would be surprised how hard it is to find any info on building a set of steps for a tower stand. Also my stand isn’t tucked as far back in the woods as yours so I have about 5’ that I’m exposed if there are deer in the field plus climbing the ladder. Figure if I build a set of steps that comes off the back about 5’ that would put me on the ladder in the woods, then I’m gonna build hand rails on both sides and hang camo from it so I can kinda hide as I go up and down.

I’ve got a worn out ford 601 work master and my grandfathers 61 farmall 140, really want a loader, been looking hard at the kioti 2610. @@TKCL Don't make a special trip. I just want to make sure I don't get mine too high. I'm thinking about making the bottom of the gun windows about 38 inches from the floor. Bow windows are a whole nuther issue.
It's not that far away and I really don't mind going down there. Actually my windows are almost a little too low especially if you're a tall guy. So I'm going to suggest that you make the opening to one to two inches higher than the measurement I give you. Are you going to be using adjustable office chairs? That really takes the guesswork out of window height
@@ScottRogerson I just went and measured, it's 36 inches from the floor to the bottom of the opening for my windows. I think 38 inches is going to be perfect. After using mine for a while I would definitely recommend your height

You could paint the bottom inside half of the blind white so you could see better. The deer will never see it but it might help you see.

I think I wound up with 3/8 bolts, good point on the joist hangers. Pee funnel to a buried barrel has been on my mind.

We love our ranger, it helps out a lot. I use to have a smaller John deere tractor and it was a big help. Upgrade as life allows you too. Take care!

Not exactly sure, appears to be around 24 inches wide and just over 6ft tall.

Insulate it? would it help to cut out the lil fingers out of that forestock rest ? how tight would 3 people be in it?
3 would be comfortable, I might insulate one day, but it would need to be spray foam. Bugs and mice would be in heaven in that fiberglass stuff.

Also put some carpet on the lower sections of the walls. It'll absorb sound if you knock something over or bang your boots into the wall.
How high is the window sill from the floor.
Bottom of window opening to the floor is 36 inches. If I do it again I'll go 38 inches for office chairs.
