Nah, that's a defeatist mentality.. where there's a will there's a way.. if u cant drop a few gs on a machine that is a skunkworks modern marvel of form and function, art and engineering.. then you probably don't even have the willpower to ride it around Kona anyway, meanwhile.. my broke ass has trained in Specialized time trial rounds.. on Kona, where i lived for several years.. and i will find a way, that's the attitude of a winner, get of the porch if you wanna ride and prove it! I'm courious about the seat tube fule cell. Why is it so huge? This "wing" affects the possibility to adjust the saddle hight massiv, right? How do I fill up the seat tube fule cell in a race cenario?! How do I clean / change the "tube"? The rest is great in my opinion.
The bike itself is beautiful but the hydration container takes that away. Can that be removed? The front end and disc brakes look amazing. Will there be a lower end version? $14000 is out of my price range.
It's ugly. It will literally take off in a crosswind, especially with the 88mm rims the tri guys love. And there's just something unsettling about having a massive jug of water splashing around above the rear wheel, rear traction would cease to exist upon breaking because all the liquid would surge to the front. Or it would splash side to side after exiting a turn and destabilise the bike.
With all respect but this is what might be the worst and ugliest TT design of the last years. Let's see what difference it really makes on Saturday but the look is a no go in my opinion.

If you go out of the saddle for any kind of incline you've got 1.5 litres of fluid sloshing around behind you

Specialized has priced it so high the average age grouper can't afford this bike. The hydration system looks hard to clean or refill on the fly. 🙍👎
Simply ugly. Hard to take this design for a minimal aero advantage if there is even any.
It clearly takes a lot of time and money to make something so damn ugly. Better off spending money on a proper bike fit and maybe a training camp.
