Dara was joking around with the John stuff by the way, bit of tongue in cheek. He’s known to be one of the nicest on the circuit.
The marketing slogan for Marmite is _LITERALLY_ "You either love it or hate it"
all five said 'ick' to marmite but they also said 'ick' to curry, white chocolate, Brussel sprouts, porridge and a number of other flavours they would normally enjoy if they weren't in ice cream - so the normal comments defending marmite still stand.
It wasn't all 5 though
I have some Marmite and cheese puffs which are amazing and so morish. People need to remember we have been raised on Marmite since we were very young and forget that those who have not been exposed to it before tend to use too much and second it's not the intense flavour they are expecting. It is a flavour you love or hate, and there is no middle ground.
Twiglets bad, marmite on toast amazing .
Marmite transcends generations
Taskmaster is one of the best shows ever
I love Marmite but wouldn't want it in ice cream.
OMG I absolutely love Ferns voice/accent , she's adorable .....
Won’t hear a bad word said about marmite, beautiful stuff
I love marmite. Not so much in ice cream
The word Marmite ' has now entered the British lexicon... " It's a bit Marmite " basically means you either love it or absolutely loathsome. No middle ground. As the comments show. 🤣😄
Straight Marmite is an acquired taste. But it can taste good you just have to use it in the right way. If you look on the ingredients of many savoury snacks you'll see yeast extract which is what Marmite is, so technically you are probably already a fan of it used sparingly.
Marmite is wonderful, but you do have to be used to it. Once you are though, you do love it.😁
He didn’t want to taste it because he was off sugar.
Yes what a panzy
@@andywatts8654 my competitiveness wouldnt have let me not eat that ice scream. I’d rather have a filling than lose! 😳
Surely if you’re a millimetre from Root canal surgery you get a flippin’ crown or some other prevention? !
Marmite has a phenomenally strong flavour. Applying it to toast, or anything else, without fully grasping this concept, will generally not end well.
Marmite is the food of kings. I have it on good authority that Super man was just man before he tried Marmite.
Things in Britain that are controversial or divisive are actually described as being "a bit Marmite" as an addictive. Is was literally Marmite's marketing slogan
I have a jar of Marmite XO (extra old) a limited edition. It makes ordinary Marmite seem quite tame 😅😊
Xtra Orrible 😅
I've heard that Marmite is made from the sweat of the Devil's pits 👀
John was one of the more baffling participants Taskmaster has had , the show always like for all of them to win one episode and use tasks the contestant did well in , but they still have to negotiate the studio tasks - he's doing pretty well but don't count on it . A tasting or identifying task usually means a combination you will never see again in your life . But they do check for allergies etc.for tasting ones .
I want marmite on toast now 😋. My husband and kids hate it 😂.
I am late to Marmite and I LOVE it!
If you think marmite is amazing, you are correct. If you think marmite is disgusting, you are correct.
Taste and preference are a simple thing. Everyone is correct.
I love Marmite but I'm not sure I could stomach it in Ice Cream ... with Porridge
I LOVE Marmite and in fact have several 'store own-label brands' in my kitchen cupboard too, along with Vegemite ! 😋
EDIT: Just went to check the other 'yeast spreads'; Aldi 'Grandessa Mighty', Tesco 'Yeast Extract', Lidl 'Maribel', ASDA 'Yeast Extract' and Morrisons 'Yeast Extract' _(which I have NOT seen on their shelves for quite a while, so they 'may' have discontinued it ?)._ 🤔
I also like the alternative marmites as they each offer slightly different flavours. Tescos one was good
@@andywatts8654
Of them all (excluding Marmite), Lidl is surprisingly good. I did have the Sainsbury's version too, but it was SO salty, I never bought it again...
@@StewedFishProductions I have the sainsburys lower salt Marmite at the moment. It's pretty good
@@andywatts8654
Actually, I did see that and because I have so many already, decided I didn't need to try another just for the sake of it... 🙂 I wondered if it had been introduced, not just for health reasons, but because of possible 'feedback' about the saltiness of their standard option? 🤔
The reason none of them liked the Marmite one was because it was Marmite and Porridge, all the ice creams were a horrible combination of flavours.
Surely the food safety agencies test for food mixing interactions on a chemical level by ingredient? Mixing foods should be safe, so long as reasonable limits are applied. For example salt in volume is unsafe, as is extreme foods based upon Capsicum.
I thought that everybody loves Marmite
Hiya Nick & Jodi. Could you react to recreate a classic computer game from Taskmaster featuring James Acaster & Rhod Gilbert 🙏
It's not 50/50. Most dont like it. But in general you either do like it or hate it.
Marmite on toast yes please.
Marmite ice cream 🤮
Only Drunks like Marmite.
In Dara's defence, John was acting like a complete idiot. What is he supposed to say when that is his first interaction with someone? "Oh he's a genius"?
People are too soft.
I love eating salami, but I don’t think it would make a great ice cream flavour much like marmite
Fern is so bae
Marmite is delicious but horrific in ice cream
I hate Marmite, only tried it once that was enough.
You just spread marmite finley and in is fine.
Don't let your comment section fool you, most people despise marmite
Marmite is an acquired taste, I love it myself.
Marmite ice cream on the other hand 🤢🤢🤮
Marmite will put hairs on your chest 👌
It will also put hairs on your toast and the knife you spread it with 😄
😂😂😂
I don't like UK Marmite but love our NZ Marmite. Some people like the Aussie Vegemite. I don't as I'm not a traitor!!😂 Our kids ate/eat lots of it. We have Marmite and potato chips, Marmite and lettuce, Marmite and cheese sandwiches. I use it, alongside other ingredients, to flavour stews and casseroles. Yummy!
It's defo not 50/50 for marmite, probs closer to 65%-70% either don't like it or assume they won't like it.
I think you’re making that figure up
@@andywatts8654 Where did i attempt to state or portray a fact?
@@Jamie_D I think you need to re-read your text -- "probs closer to 65-70%" is a completely made up nonsense suggestion pulled from your backside
Marmite isn’t an older generation food. What a ridiculous thing to say. Marmite on toast is traditional for toddlers.
Marmite is revolting to most Scottish people too, used to have a friend who ate Twiglets constantly, it made his house smell like a fat-guys butt-crack after the gym.
