Here we are several decades later and things are getting significantly worse than I imagine he imagined. As a fellow scientist the warming scares me much less than ocean acidification. Plus the resulting water wars that are likely to follow from limited freshwater sources and competition. Topping it all off are tremendous losses of biodiversity, a 33% reduction of global forest canopy, human exceptionalism, and a host of other issues. We have to remember that we are simply the product of 13.8 billion years of the universe trying to figure itself out and the best example Earth has offered. I would say generate a 3d hologram interface of Carl Sagan as the ambassador of human beings but even that concept would easily get controlled as well. AI / chat GPT could generate presets to whatever officials want it to say. 🤔
