- The Mach One Violin Shoulder Rest has been around for a long time. I've used the Mach One for the last 10 years and want to share my thoughts on what I think after 10 years.

I am using a mach one for about a year now. I really like the shape, it fits me well. The foamy thing at least in mine is leather. They also sell an option with some synthetic stuff. And actually I think I've read, that they sell replacement leathers and also different screws.
I didn’t know they sell the replacement leathers! I would love to replace my leather for years but couldn’t find it.
I’ve seen the Mach Ones but haven’t gotten around to trying one. I use a Wolf Forte Primo, the very same shoulder rest I started off with 11 years ago actually. It serves me well, only issue is that it moves a bit out of place after so many years but nothing major.
Also thank you for these informative videos! They’re helpful to me as both teacher and student
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad I can help out in any way I can. I haven't played with the Wolf shoulder rests all too much. I know it works for some people.
I use a Kun shoulder rest and have been very happy with it. My teacher uses one and at first I didn't. I had neck pain and gave it a try and now I wouldn't play without my shoulder rest.
That's great! I'm also a fan of the shoulder rest. However, I do practice without the shoulder rest at times because it reminds me of the basics. Kun is great! I've played on a Kun Bravo all throughout my undergrad
I'm currently using the Chinese version of Kun, the Fom one. It is sufficient but i felt it's time to take comfort to a better place. So i just recently bought an Everest and the fact it lacks that axial rotation on the base of the clamps really bothers me, i need it. I believe Mach one also lacks it. It's very personal of course.
At least the Everest is collapsing so it fits my case, if i understand correctly, the Mach one isn't collapsible, am i right? That's an important con imo
Sincere thanks for your great reviews!
try VLM for maybe
Have you tried cleaning the rubber clamps with alcohol to regain their grip?
Nice vídeo,greetings from Lima Perú.
Thank you so much!
I have been wanting to purchase a mach one. For any viva la musica diamond shoulder rest users, how does the mach one compare?
That's an excellent question, would it be helpful if I do a comparison video of different shoulder rests?
