I really struggle with lettering though I do understand the concept. I ended up with a rainbow of colours but got there in the end. You made it look so easy😃.
Nice, I'm a big fan of XV puzzles. I tried to set one where I combined Equality Cages and XV. It seemed like a good idea at first, but once I started constructing it just became obvious it wasn't meant to be :(
@@SudokuSleuth The problem is that they're sadly not that compatible. I did come up with a few fun deductions with cages crossing boxes, but unfortunately they erase XV progress. XV is a lot about figuring out if the lows are ADs or BCs, and then with the X's you get the FI/GH. The problem with Equality Cages is that anything can go with anything in this type of puzzle. If you have one of AD in a 2-cell cage, the other cell could be literally anything, because A and D have different parity. Even if you manage to narrow it down to just an A, all you really know is the other cell is NOT an I (because that's the same parity), but it could be any of the other high digits unless you know which of BC is the same parity as AD. Even then you've only reached the starting point of an X with AD on one side (i.e. two possibilites on the other). So as much as I enjoy both XV and Equality Cages, I decided to give up on the idea, because anything fun I could come up with from Equality Cages took more fun away from the XV part of the puzzle.
I tried using letters instead of colors to label the pairs, but one of my letters was W and ctrl-W closes the browser tab. Even after doing that a few times, I could not stop myself from reflexively typing it.
NurglesGift and Wortmann are the undisputed XV Masters
I would agree 😃
Mesmerising, just loved it. Your lettering gave me the path to solving, many thanks Sleuth
Wonderful
Oh I love a negative constraint puzzle!! Thanks Sleuth :)
My pleasure!
very nice! will you be doing an equality cage puzzle this weekend? would love to see the series finished
That's the plan!
You always do these so easily and I always struggle😂
Worthwhile checking out the Colorado playlist. I am certain it will help!
Super nice! The way I like it 😎
Glad you like it!
Loved this puzzle even though I took me ages to
52:48 - Gorgeous puzzle.
Took me a little while to get through the lettering this time, but finished in 31:15. I didn't think to use coloring. Maybe that would have helped.

Each to their own. I hit my limit when I have four different colours so I need some other way to disambiguate

I really hope you crack it sometime!

Nice solve Sleuth!
Thank you ☺️
I often struggle with the negative constraint in this type of puzzle, but today it went pretty smoothly for me. My time was 19:47, solver number 783.
27:12 for me
52 minutes. That might have took longer than it should have.
