🌟DIY BUSINESS CARDS🌟| HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN 600GSM EXTRA THICK BUSINESS CARDS AT HOME

This tutorial shows you how to make a business card design that is similar to 600gsm business cards. GSM is the weight/thickness/density of the paper. The thickest paper that can go through a newer model printer is about 250-300gsm, which is thick cardstock. Their are a few expensive desktop printers that can take thicker material like poster board, but they range from $1000 and up. The heavy-duty printers that can print up to 400-600gsm are very big and not to mention EXPENSIVE, in the 6-10k range.
So I thought of a way that you can make your own THICK professional business right in your own home!
All you need is:
- 250-300gsm paper ( I used 300) (glossy or matte depending on what you want)
- A printer that can print on thicker paper ( not all printers are the same. Make sure your printer can feed thicker cardstock. Usually printers with a rear tray can but double-check your printer FIRST!!)
- A straight paper cutter
- Multi-purpose heavy duty glue like gorilla glue ( NOT CRAFT GLUE OR ANY WATER SOLUBLE GLUE)
- Gloves (optional)
This method is a little tedious, but to me, it's WELL WORTH IT! Especially if you have these supplies lying around. However, be sure to do your research. Sometimes, it may make more sense to source your business cards out rather than make them yourself.
some good reasons to outsource your THICK business cards and not make them yourself would be:
- If the business cards/company is having a good sale
- if the cost of the supplies you have to get to make them is more than just out sourcing them.
- if you have all the supplies but your printer does not print high resolution or just prints poor quality
- if you have to cut them by hand with scissors
