A lot of people wanted me to continue the series, but in order to i will have to use clips from other people, as i do not have every class max on vanilla/wrath/retail. Do you guys think this is an okay way to continue? I figured it might be ok if i credit the people involved, as it is kind of the norm in wow community to react andy to other peoples content already

I appreciate all of the support on my recent videos, especially in this series. I am not a very skilled video editor/creator, i started making pvp montages for fun. With the recent support i have been working to learn and improve, any advice on how to go about that would be appreciated.
Any other suggestions for this series/other videos you would like to see feel free to let me know. I only recently started up wow again, playing hardcore classic, but have been dabbling a bit on retail and recently wrath. Wrath has been the most fun, if you would like to see any content from those let me know.

i dunno about wrath but in DF, you can't judge a dps on their 20 seconds opener with bl/pot/PIs. Kazzara (the boss fight in df) is a 5minutes+ fight pure st. Trust me when i say that the dmg metter will be completely different from what u see on the opener once the boss dies. I'm a ret paladin and at the opener I hardly do 160k dps while everyone else is doing 300k. At the end of the fight though, I'll finish with 110-120 whe everyone else will be at 100-110. SP is like ret, they have sustain ST dmg, not burst like most specs.

@@shadowpriest2574 you're supposed to clip at the tick of the 2nd damage tick of flay unless you know it's beneficial to use a whole flay. This guy is not doing any of that.

@@shadowpriest2574 because you don't ever really want to flay all 3 ticks, just 2 and recast. It works out to you doing more dps than doing 3 and losing time waiting for the 1st tick on the 2nd flay

As someone new to World of Warcraft (just tried out the game with the recent HC classic hype) I really love these videos. Retail looks fun too in it's own way but I just really enjoy the lack of gear and power in the classic game so far. Keep it up!
Thank you!! Retail is fun, I think all versions have things they do well. You should give it a try sometime if you get bored. Honestly lately wrath classic has been the most fun, after hopping between classic, wrath, and retail. I feel like wrath is a decent middle ground between the two, especially for a newer player. Im not one of those people who pick a side and hate the other, i like all things wow

Yeah I got kinda hyped for Classic HC but the end game is just so dead.. Once you've progressed mythic on retail the game just feels hella dull in the old expansions. I love this video series, but in all honesty if you put your mind to playing a class (like I did with SP for a while), the retail rotation really isn't INSANELY complex, it's just something that takes time to master, and I find that a lot of fun. Meanwhile, most top DPS classes in wrath (let alone classic lol) have like a 3 button rotation, bar Enha maybe.. It's unfortunate, as I really love the old expansions

Depends on the player. I personally don't have any fun whatsoever if I'm not being challenged by the fights, which no fights before Cata ever did, and it didn't even start ramping up much by then either.
I was raiding in TBC Classic as a Resto Shaman, never having to move and spamming 1-2 buttons over and over again, I quit after one raid because I nearly died of boredom.

i dont care what anyone says but i will die on the hill that legion shadow priest was the best RAID designed spec ever made. it did feel awful in open world content due to everything dying before voidform was of any real worth but man did surrender to madness feel amazing. nothing made my heart pump faster than doing xavius, high botanist, or honestly any fight with surrender to madness. hitting that sweet sweet 100 stacks along with the 3rd void torrent was truly special. i actually broke my naga side buttons because of how much i was spamming due to the insanely low GCD at the time. for high botanist on heroic i actually solo clutched the last 7% with vampiric embrace and dispersion with my VT doing 5-7mil crits a tick it really.
something about the true high risk(insta death and no brez for 3 mins if executed wrong) and high reward(pretty much doing double the dps of 2nd place) of surrender to madness felt like heaven. i will say though i thoroughly enjoyed MoP and BFA spriest of a chill ramp up and consistent DPS as opposed to most classes who do 90% of their damage in their 20 sec burst window. although it was fun melting people with 3 orb mind flay insanity back in mop. shadowlands was decent and atleast we were pretty good AoE dps with searing nightmare/mindbender cleave along with nightfae making VF lower CD.
You nailed the feeling of s2m. I have never practiced a rotation on a dummy so much to try to get a consistent third void torrent. So thrilling to play. So so so much fun

Dragonflight is actually a very nice game.
Too bad the combat feels horrible. Its become way too bloated and spammy and theres no real balance between classes/specs at all.
@@quetz6335 there is a Nice balance in pve. and people that play retail love the Fast pace instead of the slow dreadfull wotlk playstyle. and i play both.. but there is no challenge to wotlk what so ever. 3 tactics per boss , the dungeons are not a challenge and the raids are easy as hell compared to retail. the combat feels waaay better then wotlk.

its pretty easy to cherry pick clips, my guild does nothing but sing and have a laugh on retail, but i can also easily find people malding on classic. just depends on what clips you pick
Jokes aside that spriest retail rotations isn't even that bad. It flows very well and feels natural after playing the spec for a short amount of time. You always have something to cast, your rotation is spiced a little during execute phases and despite priests having very low mobility, you get just enough instant cast breaks to move where you need to. And also as usual they're OP af by the end of the expansion...

Nothing he said on that opener was really hard. People really exaggerate wow spells and rotations. The game is old of course it's going to have more than a version of itself that was played over a decade ago.
There are only a handful of specs in retail that have complicated openers. The rest just sound tedious but take like less than an hour of training to get down.
All he did in the retail version was sound more wordy but as a shadow priest player myself the opener barely registers in my mind.
You also have the option of not doing the pre pull cast since that's really only necessary for top guilds which noone in the comment section is a part of.
In normal and heroic raiding you can get by just fine without doing the cutting edge stuff.

well, honestly, I expected to see footage from Muqq's POV for the WotLK part. At that time he was a bit of a legend. In my case, he inspired me to take disc/shadow path for my first WoW character :)
also, his POVs were a great promotion of the TukUI (ancestor of ElvUI and others) :)

People should realize that retail rotation becomes simple after playing for a while, it's only overwhelming the few first times.
Like, I can totally sing and talk about whatever while doing a very good rotation, the thing is when you add boss mechanics on top of that, that's where you need to be focused. (unless you did the boss 50 times ofc)
And the spriest in wrath was still more challenging than most other dps specs though
500 APM and a giga 7 head, A Beautiful Mind, Limitless, Good Will Hunting tier rotation, just to be bottom DPS by tank, nice. Reminds me of Unholy in the start of BFA.

They aren't bottom or anywhere close to tanks. They are 8th or out 14 dps. The other classes just do more of their dps in the opener compared to shadow.
The SPriest in my guild was one of our top DPS for all of wrath lol
Tbh as a casual gamer I realy like the wotlk sprirst gamestyle
I used to try hard and wanted to be “the best.” These days i just don’t care, just want to relax and have a good time playing the game. You can still accomplish that on retail, but at the moment wrath is the most fun for me. I kind of go through phases though and jump around to different game versions.

Legit resent what's been happening to all my specs and classes since wod. These busy work class designs are just obnoxious.
True, i feel like spriest has been hit with it especially hard, I do think its in a "better" place then the past few expansions. I have not played it a ton, just recently started playing it again so can't really speak much on the retail side.
I'll let you in on a little secret: most specs have an easy-mode version that does enuogh damage/healing for the majority of raiding/dungeon content. Leaves the player room to grow, but provides them with a less intensive rotation if they want to go that route.
For shadow, swap the Void Eruption talent to Dark Ascension.
Its not a matter of something being hard. Its the busy work and its on the specs I used to like. Either I hate what the class has become like warrior and shaman and/or what it is now is miserable and distant from its original play style like priest across holy and shadow. Those were my classes from vanilla to mop and every time I peek in on an xpack I just cant stomach the idea of how they play. Seeing shadow's talents was crushing in the dragonflight beta.
@Unf0rget nah this is not a good take. As a Retail player I can tell you that even in cata I'm bored when playing due to the slow gameplay and low apm of specs.
What do you mean? Cata is when you already have a button every global and haste affects gcd. Its also when button use still meant at least something and abilities had impact instead of doing tickle damage until cds.
Cata is also when some specs were at their most involved like demology warlock. I am certain that I have loathed every iteration of priest and warrior since legion. When choosing between many nonsense buttons and few yet impactful ones I know where I stand. After being bored of wow for a few years I was surprised by how much returning to vanilla restored my enjoyment. Somehow basic ass raiding was much more fun than retail's min/max ladder.
Also the main thing about retail isn't bad vs good. Its audience exchange. Retail left the original appeals of wow behind and with each xpack expanded the affected areas. Bit by bit extruding the original audience in exchange for people who like what the game is now. And mmos are so scarce that no alternative really exists. People who like retail aren't in the wrong. Developers are in the wrong for being blind to how they've shoved the game towards an entirely different mix of appeals in their relentless push to try and optimize convenience and player retention.

Too be fair though classic also has a lot of what I like to call "the bullshit" such as like clipping and stuff like that, like canceling your mind flay can be worth it or not worth it depending at what point in the cast you're at etc. definitely don't think its rotation is complicated, but if you don't know things like that you're gonna be trash at the class. and most classic classes have some form of "the bullshit" for example, resto druids 4 set from icc causes your rejuv to have a chance to copy over to a new target at random with a new rejuv, but the copy has a completely different spell id despite having the same name and doing the same thing, and it takes prio over your normal rejuvs in a weird way. The effect of that is that if you try to cast a new rejuv on someone who already has a copy of one on them, it just takes your mana and dosent put a new rejuv on. So if you aren't aware of this and don't get an addon of some kind or a weakaura to specifically display a different icon on health bars for the rejuv, you're just going to suck when you're blanket healing.
It's ironically simpler and more mindless in retail since everyone just imports a weakaura and follows it without understanding anything about their spec.
The best part is that on retail you were still no where near the top dps lol

The issue with retail is and never was the engaging raiding experience, the surrounding part and the focus on everything to reach ONLY that ending of raiding or pvp is what kills it, wrath was showing the same signs however it was blinded by it being a progressive system and also the content of it being extremely lore heavy and liked.
Basically have classic hardship of leveling skills, everything with some (if not all) combat mechanics of retail and you get a perfect game, no need to rush to max lvl feeling like its a chore to level and actually hard('ish) encounters making gear worthwhile endeveour.
Shadow priest is one of the easier rdps specs in retail wow too, massively easier than firemage for example.

Guys I quit DF around the end of P1. I played outlaw rogue and as a casual player the APM of a outlaw rogue is too much. And to be honest have no desire to put in the time to master it properly.
What are the easiest classes for a casual player in retail for p2?
Prob bm hunter for ranged, mele maybe fury warrior, but they are high apm but you aren’t hitting lot of different buttons
@@Ross_2312 Thanks! I dusted of my 70lv warrior. Fury seems nice, yes it's pretty high apm (but not nearly as high as outlaw) and I have less buttons to press. Basically just zug-zug and use cooldowns.
My guy, Sub was better from ~mid P1 anyways and before it was only VERY slightly worse, noticable only in ~21+ keys x)

Retail aint so bad compared to other classes: Keep DoTs up, keep big spells on cooldown, use procs and use filler spell. The usual, really.
Yeah I have been playing a bit of both, retail really isnt that crazy. At the time i made this video though, i hadn’t played retail in a while and it was a bit overwhelming trying something besides my main (survival hunter).

I've never tried Shadow since Legion, but it really is hard to find a 'simple' DPS class or spec now days. Closest I can find is like Arcane Mage and Destro Lock, but I don't play dps-only classes seriously. I originally thought Ret would be simple and easy, but it still feels kinda complicated to me. I usually just end up tanking as Prot either way. No matter what class or spec I play though, I usually have nearly 3 full bars of abilities I need to have ready and on hand. Which is honestly ridiculous lol. It's fine if that's your main, but I have 1 of every class plus an extra DK and I've only been able to figure out 1 spec on most of them. Sometimes I level up a new character just to learn a spec from scratch lol.
Play hunter bm or MM and you'll see what easy really looks like
@@EdgeyStyle BM is pretty simple, but probably the most buttonmashy ranged dps in the game lol. Practically like playing a melee class. I should level up another hunter as MM. I have all my 70's on one server and then my BM hunter on another, but they're like conjoined servers so it's not worth server transferring lmfao. I just don't feel like switching from one server to the other every time I wanna play them.

Legit question - is casting full mindflay before applying swp actually dps increase? Back in original wrath the theorycrafting formula was 2 ticks of mindflay to get 5 stacks and then swp.
it is 2 ticks of mindflay, the video is just the simple version for noobies, there is another video with the advanced rotation.
As a spriest main, this intro is wrong since t8 4 piece. Your opener is really… mind blast, VT, DP, full tick mind flay, swp, mind blast into word:death, then flay away. If you only do a 2 tick mind flay you have a second of downtime before your 2nd mind blast comes up, instead of it being seemless
@@siedaification nah, there is no reason to do a full mind flay. You need 5 stacks of shadow weaving and 2 tick mf is enough for that. On short fights or fights were your target will die fast you can actually put up swp before mindflay and it is a small dps upgrade.

why stressed out ? ... i play shadow priest and if you know the rotation its piss easy... its harder to play wotlk since people act like its the hardest game these days while the raids and dungeons are easy as hell... i play both and have more fun in retail for the reason stated above...

@@seanmurphy7953 except this guy was doing mythic. aberrus NHC is quite simple and 2 bosses are almost tank and spank. the rotastion depends on what you play if you play frost mage in retail then all what you have to do is pressing frostbolt until icy touch or brainfreeze proccs use the proccs and repeat.

can someone explain, how the hell did demo lock have 300k dps ? I play destro but if someone can teach me to deal as much dps as demo on video, i would gladly try it :D
It's not going to be a constant 300k, not even close. He spiked that high early due to Potion+trinkets along with his Demoic Tyrant and probably Nether portal. (Also likely a Power Infusion, Demo is a good target for it.)
Most specs can/will spike really high on pull or shortly after, since you have everything stacked up all at once. Cooldowns, potions, trinkets, bloodlust, ect.
Demo has a extrem strong burst opener (just like unholy) but both Drops after 1 minute on the same lvl just like other dds. Both are actually at the moment "It is way more importent to master your opener then your rotation." (Unholy Main)
and then you get t10 4p and you just remove mind blast out of your rotation lmao
and both are doing legit 0 dmg

I am going to say it people can get angry upset it's fine but this is the truth. Wow is more fun when playing half afk 😂 having music on or a second screen and farming is half of wow and having a ez rotation in raids is just way better for the average player who wants to have fun with friends and chill out.
You don't have to min max if you play casual tho
Retail isn't hard. It really just boils down to Use damage cooldowns > Use procs > apply dots > use filler. Its just faster paced. If you're trying to min-max an opener, its just a set rotation you need to follow then revert to maintenance.
Retail is just faster paced but its very mindless.
I love how the classic Andy players are so happy to play the game and the retail players are super stiff neck trying to max everything player.
It's ironic because classic players are the biggest spergs in the world. Have you never seen a world buff train to clear content that dies in 20 seconds?
You don't have to complicate retail that much. Shadow isn't hard to play at a high level. Unless you're an idiot who just wants to get that gold parse every fight, your damage as shadow will be fine. Just keep everything on cooldown and don't cap insanity. That's it. Shit's easy.
Tips for spriest. Just use hekili for like 2 weeks. Get your muscle memory in and watch your name rise to the top of the meters. Pew pew.
The retail nerds min-maxed the fun out of every aspect of WoW, killing any form of deviation from the meta.
