As an old long-time magician I want say that I am really appreciating and enjoying this GREAT series you are presenting. Great instruction and advice! 😉
This is great - thank you so much! I'm looking forward to the tutorial on reappearing the coin, because I've found that most of the tutorials I've seen sort of skip that part and move straight to a routine. When I try to learn the routine, I can usually palm okay, but get clumsy in the reappearance. Thanks again - love your tutorials!
Hey buddy my son and I have built a magicians Wall of fame in our house and we have over 100 magicians from all over the world With there be a possibility that my son and I can get your autograph picture for our wall
I appreciate tips on how to actually practice things like this and make it more natural throughout the day without having to rely on only practicing in terms of a trick you're planning to do.
Thank you, Alex. I’ve seen other videos that you have done and your so good at your craft and I’m usually not able to keep up and then get the attitude of. “ I’ll never be able to do that.” I saw this #1 coin series video, and thought I might as well just take a peek at it…..It’s excellent! You break things down and make it simple to learn, and then give a few tips like having a coin in each hand during the day to practice. Thanks for keeping it simple for below average want to be magicians like myself. I’m looking forward to the next three videos. 👍
How do can you balance everything without being too much. Music on point. Light is perfectly and puts you directly in the mood. Your face.. just everything is perfectly balanced.
I started out just using downs palm and French drops to finger palm, but I was impatient and cut allot of corners in my immaturity. Im really enjoying drilling the basics though
I’ve been using a 1oz silver coin. It’s pretty perfect for muscle passes, palms, and since it’s big, it’s very visual.. definitely recommend I’d you have 17 - 60 bucks (depending on the market)
goshman is prolly the hardest by far in my opinion. the scotty York technic seem superior but I tend to drop the coin on the roll over putting it back in my hand. any tips would be pretty tight. stoked for the next video dude!!
Thanks man, just bought Bobo’s like a week ago and really haven’t gotten into it yet. Started studying magic a month or so ago and really appreciate your tutorials.
There's a clip of Bobo doing some of his routines from the book on TH-cam. You should check it out if you want to see what some of the routines & sleights are supposed to look like in real time. His performance is brilliant and shows you what is possible from that book. PS if I'm not mistaken there is a Bobo coin magic video set with Bobo teaching all his effects in the book, but I think it's very hard to find, hope this helps. ✌️😎👍
Just bought J.B. Bobos Modern Coin Magic. Hard to follow, from the description and the few images. Especially when not a native english speaker. Great to see some "book tricks" and techniques in motion pictures :D
I just wanted to let you know that YOU, Chris Ramsey and Xavier Spade are some of my favorite magicians! I've learned so much from all of you and I would be happy if I just had half of your skills & technique. I love your style and with enough practice maybe I will be as good as you someday (I doubt it lol). Thanks for all the great content and I hope you have a wonderful day! ✌️😎👍
Alex why didn't you teach how to get in & out of thumb palm, downs palm ECT like you showed with the classic palm? Also you should show how to transition from one palming technique to another with the one hand that is doing the sleights. Not to mention there are many variations of the finger palm you should have talked about. Please make a follow-up video addressing these issues so it will be easier for your fans to perform these sleights. ✌️😎👍
Yuppp, as I mentioned, this is Vol.1 of a 4 part mini course. This whole week I'm uploading the other videos with vanishes, reappearance, switches etc. Boom!
I live in Switzerland, so we have different coins... Could you please give me any adwise on which coin to use? metric measuerements of weight and diameter: 5.0CHF ø31mm 13.2g 2.0CHF ø27mm 8.8g 1.0CHF ø23mm 4.4g 0.20CHF ø21mm 4g 0.10CHF ø19mm 3g 0.50CHF ø18mm 2.2g 0.05CHF ø17mm 1.8g
I would suggest for those sweaty hands to use wax combined with any baby powder. That will really stick to your palm properly. Filipino magician here.☺️🎩
@@AlexPandrea Aha! I am using Morgan Dollars and the design looked similar (being British). I changed over to them a few years ago after performing over 10 years with Kennedy 1/2 Dollar coins purely because people said they were too small to see from a distance especially when you are doing street magic. I used to do 5 coins to whiskey glass as an opener but had to scrap that entirely because the Morgan Dollar keeps breaking the glass! I find the Kennedy 1/2 Dollar perfect and recommend it. I also use Chinese Dragon Dollars which I bought in a market in Chiang Mai, Thailand, complete with Jumbo! They are slightly larger and heavier than the Morgan Dollar and are real difficult to handle. I use Chinese copies because they are cheap online and have shells and flippers not expensive, 'nuff said!
I really don't like how you teach the finger palm. First there are many different finger palms (high, the one you teached; low; with pinky and ring finger and also the ramsey style finger palm). The high finger palm is also not that usefull like the low/ramsey finger palm so as a beginner you should learn these. And you also didn't teach how to get into the palms you mentioned. Sorry but Metal from Eric Jones is the best for coinmagic beginners.
I absolutely agree with you. I don't understand why he shows how to get into classic palm with one hand but not the others. He doesn't show the many variations of the finger palm (as you mentioned) and doesn't show you how to transition from one palming technique to another with the same hand. There is a lot missing from this video! Glad I'm not the only one who noticed. ✌️
Yupp, the more resources the better! Eric Jones is a beast with coins, much better than me. This is just a beginners course free on youtube. The next videos of the series get more in detail
If you are going to criticize please bestow us with your Brilliant coin magic...... Alex rules. This whole series rules. Yeah i do some of the palms differently because my hand (like everyone else) is different. Doesn't change the fact its a freaking free bad ass tutorial.
Please don’t reveal technique and method behind coin magic for views. You can inspire people by performing a great routine and even tell them where to find these techniques. People that will be interested will seek them out but please prevent that everyone knows. The classic palm or the false transfer are essential tools that loose all their value if they become general knowledge !!!!!!!!!!!

So many people fail to teach this part on the classic palm including myself great tutorial thanks for sharing this years ago😅
I love this- I've been trying to branch off from card magic and haven't found a good starting point so I'm super jazzed for this course
Thanks for watching Justin!
I just started doing coin magic today bro thanks !!!!!!!
Finally coin magic, thanks a lot!

it's not working, I have to squeeze so much that it looks weird

I learned ONE palm in HS but I had NO idea there were this many! Great video!

Hi Alex. I like how you teach your videos carefully and you are funny at the same time!!! -Marco
Haha glad it can be somewhat entertaining :)

So hyped for black Friday sale and glad you can help me with my coin magic because tbh it's pretty crap
Haa, it all just take a little practice! You got this
@@AlexPandrea thanks
The classic palm grip are you using the muscle in your hand to hold it or the skin ?
thank you so much for this series

As someone with longer fingers this seems far more difficult than it should otherwise be, especially the finger clip palm.
Thank you
Its very useful. Thanks 🖤
Good. Liked it 🌹
Can u use Susan b Anthony for palming
nice
Anyone feels that Alex is underrated?
Those 5 who unliked might be holding their phone upside down lol 😂

metric measuerements of weight and diameter:
5.0CHF ø31mm 13.2g
2.0CHF ø27mm 8.8g
1.0CHF ø23mm 4.4g
0.20CHF ø21mm 4g
0.10CHF ø19mm 3g
0.50CHF ø18mm 2.2g
0.05CHF ø17mm 1.8g
The 5.0CHF is about a half dollar size, from the measurements you gave.
And a 1.0CHF is about the size of a quarter.
Will you teach muscle pass? or can you do muscle pass
My chair ate 2 quarters during this video
10p is the same size as a quarter
I would suggest for those sweaty hands to use wax combined with any baby powder. That will really stick to your palm properly. Filipino magician here.☺️🎩
Good tip! Thanks for the input Reuben
I'm not sure if its a Barber 1/2 dollar...looks more like a Morgan! I recommend silver Kennedy 1/2 dollars (1964)
Morgans are dollar size, much bigger. Not a fan, as some of the palms are super hard with them, at least for me 😅
