I'm Swiss-American. Most people don't know that Switzerland is the old constitutional democracy in the world, being over 700 years old. Something happened in 2000-2001. The U.S. govt/media stooges went on a smear campaign against Swiss Banks, accusing them of being a tax haven for criminals (to which the Swiss rejoindered that Delaware is the largest tax haven in the world, which is true, actually). then, in 2001, suddenly, Switzerland abandoned the gold standard, being the last nation on Earth to do so. Within 9 months, the central authority had sold off over 2/3rds of Swiss gold reserves. The people of Switzerland, who usually have a hand in making major decisions, were not given the opportunity to debate or vote on such extreme measures. Something happened; Switzerland lost their sovereignty. and now you see the results. I don't know what insidious specter has infiltrated that once free nation, but I suspect there is a connection to the same one that has infiltrated the U.S. In any case, when I heard this news, I immediately emailed the Zurich police to express my dismay. I will say right here that this incident is so profoundly UN-Swiss that it's shocking on every level of my being. That one of the best educated citizenry in the world would tolerate such a flimsy and unprofessional stunt. Well, I'm not tolerating it; it's patently unforgivable.
This is complete nonsense. One might think you got your diploma at McDonald's. The modern democratic Switzerland as a country did not come into existence only in 1948. We abandoned the gold standard as early as 1973. During World War II, we were also involved in a controversial role: Switzerland hid looted gold that the Nazis had stolen from the Jewish community in Germany. This became a huge scandal in the 1990s. Banks tried to prevent the truth from coming out and even attempted to destroy documents related to it. Furthermore, we were involved in the introduction of the so-called "Jewish stamp" - a tool used to deny Jewish refugees from Germany entry into Switzerland. Then there’s the issue of minarets: in Switzerland, it is forbidden to build minarets. This ban was incorporated into the constitution through a public referendum. Similarly, the wearing of headscarves or face veils, as practiced by many Muslim women, has also been banned through another referendum. As you can see, Switzerland is not exactly welcoming or open-minded toward foreigners - and especially not toward Muslims. In the past, Switzerland was a far less free, highly conservative, and racist nation that deliberately isolated itself from Europe and the world. However, one thing we have always been open to is the opportunity to make money - and in this regard, we see neither skin color nor nationality. Be it Russian wealth, profits from the commodities trade, money from African dictatorships, or from theocratic Muslim countries - it doesn’t matter. As long as it’s money, it’s welcome.

This is complete nonsense. One might think you got your diploma at McDonald's. The modern democratic Switzerland as a country did not come into existence only in 1948. Who’s in control of America and European governments? It’s definitely not the citizens
actually in Switzerland the people are in control.. we banned minarets and the wearing of headscarves or face veils.. This ban was incorporated into the constitution through a public referendum..
thin-foil guy.. look up "swiss public referendum"
@@mee4president bravo to the brave people of Switzerland for overcoming their crippling fear of a piece of women's attire and piece of architecture! The real threat in the long-run is definitely not that but who influences n controls your policies n ur very minds without u even realizing! Bravo bravo
@@purple1985purple1985 every Swiss citizen can do a people referendum… Whatever you like.. but to calm u down.. we also helped the Nazis to store their loot from jewish-people during ww2..
and close to home.. the Qatar 🇶🇦 national investment fund as well as the Saudis bought a lot of Swiss property (Hotels, Building etc.)

This oppression is getting out of hand but the truth will always prevail.
Thank you for doing this I was also one switching between the amazing news coming from Gaza, waiting for the road to open, watching people finally being able to go home, and at the same time being so concerned for your safety and checking everywhere for information.
I have a friend (Madleen Kulab) and her large extened family in Gaza that I and friends of mine in Canada have been financially supporting and being in solidarity with for 16 months, Madleen and her husband Khadir were displaced 5 times and Madleen gave birth to her forth child while fleeing on Oct 20 2023, Madleen was able to help the neediest of families in each tent camp she was in using our funds.
Ali I am so grateful you are home and listening to your very clear words about your experience touched me deeply, thank you being you. I have learned so much from all of us at EI.
We were all thinking of you Ali, it is criminal what the Swiss did to you. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸. Thank goodness you are safe and free.

You are one of my favorite journalist beside your incredible team, tha ks for your courage and hard work for standing for Palestinians and their long struggle for self-determination and freedom
It's extremely concerning that the defense of humanity is persecuted instead of war crimes and genocide. Disgusting.
Yup, it’s an upside down world…it’s an evil world
@Andtgat True, but fortunately there are also those who support and fight for a better world. As Ali said: Solidarity counts and is so important. ❤
