As a Swiss, I‘m deeply ashamed about our extremely cowardly government. Rolling out the red carpet for genocidal Isaak Herzog and on the other side arresting our hero Ali. It just makes me puke.

As a former Swiss judge, I am appalled and ashamed. The crass political interference into the judicial system is unacceptable.
Someone instructed to arrest Mr. Abunimah as if he were a dangerous subject, based on effimeral and evident false information. This someone must pay the consequences for overstepping normal procedures and disrupt democratic discourse. At the same time, authorities allowed a concert to be held by IDF supporters in Lugano, Switzerland. This disparity only brings shame to once neutral Switzerland.

I got arrested at my home in Melbourne and taken to the police station for "stalking" my local MP Peter Khalil, the evidence for which was me emailing him and asking him to stop being complicit in genocide, and attending a protest at his office. I had to (internally) laugh when the cops were reading out my emails and tweets. Thankfully the restraining order was eventually dropped at court and no charges were laid, but the process was abhorrent, especially having my housed raided early in the morning. I can only imagine how horrible it must have been for you to be snatched off the street without warning. I'm glad you're free now Ali, and I admire your resolve. Free Palestine.

What’s becoming so obvious to people now is that colonialism has never ended just rebranded with different terms. From Natives indigenous people being called “savages” in the old days to now being called “terrorist” by neocolonialists who are neoliberals, neoconservatives, and zionist.
    1) Savages is now “terrorist”
    2) Civilizing them is now “bringing them democracy”
    3) Colonies is now “territories”
We can all see Israel is a colonial project being supported by former and current colonials such as U.S, UK, and others who also control territories of indigenous natives in Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands, Hawaii, and many more.
The liberation of Palestine will definitely give RISE to many indigenous natives around the world to free themselves from western domination. This is the underlying ripple effect that the U.S government and its puppet allies don’t want to happen

For all the proud and awesome Gazans, I have a message from Hiroshima, a city I visited in 2013. It is by far the most welcoming of Japanese cities that are all pretty welcoming yet. Well, scientists that went there after the bomb, to admire the catastrophe they broughht thereupon, said ‘here there won’t be a city anymore. Never again’. And the city was reborn, stubborn, beautiful, peaceful andwelcoming. The peace park is a tears rivers place, and it would be… and it would be astonishingly moving if Hiroshima and Gaza would entwine. To the sound of the peace bells, under the Sadako Sasaki origami crane wings… whispering: ‘There’s no never, there’s only love.’

I'm Swiss-American. Most people don't know that Switzerland is the old constitutional democracy in the world, being over 700 years old. Something happened in 2000-2001. The U.S. govt/media stooges went on a smear campaign against Swiss Banks, accusing them of being a tax haven for criminals (to which the Swiss rejoindered that Delaware is the largest tax haven in the world, which is true, actually). then, in 2001, suddenly, Switzerland abandoned the gold standard, being the last nation on Earth to do so. Within 9 months, the central authority had sold off over 2/3rds of Swiss gold reserves. The people of Switzerland, who usually have a hand in making major decisions, were not given the opportunity to debate or vote on such extreme measures. Something happened; Switzerland lost their sovereignty. and now you see the results. I don't know what insidious specter has infiltrated that once free nation, but I suspect there is a connection to the same one that has infiltrated the U.S. In any case, when I heard this news, I immediately emailed the Zurich police to express my dismay. I will say right here that this incident is so profoundly UN-Swiss that it's shocking on every level of my being. That one of the best educated citizenry in the world would tolerate such a flimsy and unprofessional stunt. Well, I'm not tolerating it; it's patently unforgivable.

This is complete nonsense. One might think you got your diploma at McDonald's. The modern democratic Switzerland as a country did not come into existence only in 1948. We abandoned the gold standard as early as 1973. During World War II, we were also involved in a controversial role: Switzerland hid looted gold that the Nazis had stolen from the Jewish community in Germany. This became a huge scandal in the 1990s. Banks tried to prevent the truth from coming out and even attempted to destroy documents related to it.
Furthermore, we were involved in the introduction of the so-called "Jewish stamp" - a tool used to deny Jewish refugees from Germany entry into Switzerland. Then there’s the issue of minarets: in Switzerland, it is forbidden to build minarets. This ban was incorporated into the constitution through a public referendum. Similarly, the wearing of headscarves or face veils, as practiced by many Muslim women, has also been banned through another referendum.
As you can see, Switzerland is not exactly welcoming or open-minded toward foreigners - and especially not toward Muslims.
In the past, Switzerland was a far less free, highly conservative, and racist nation that deliberately isolated itself from Europe and the world. However, one thing we have always been open to is the opportunity to make money - and in this regard, we see neither skin color nor nationality. Be it Russian wealth, profits from the commodities trade, money from African dictatorships, or from theocratic Muslim countries - it doesn’t matter. As long as it’s money, it’s welcome.
