Just my opinion but I have always thought the lead shot killing waterfowl through ingestion and also apparently eagles was and is BS. They used to find dead ducks and geese in areas where chemicals such as Round-Up and glyphosphate were used which I think is way easier for these birds to get into their system. Same as years ago with DDT, one eagle in the Brooklyn Zoo in NY had supposedly thin egg shells, later they admitted it was because the eagle wasnt getting the nutrients in its system that hardened shells as any chicken farmer knows. So they got rid of DDT and replaced it with Malathion, still in use and way way more harmful. Changes are made because giant corporations like Monsanto stand to gain from it and they pay-off government agencies.
