    You make this look really easy. I think I'm going to attempt this when my refrigerant leaks out again. I was quoted $738 to have my leaking condenser replaced, so even if I save a few hundred dollars, I think it'd be worth it.

    Thanks for this. Very helpful. BMW dealer quoted me $1900 to replace condenser and fill system. In this case you can save a lot of money with a do it yourself.

    Do you guys have a video on how to replace the drier element on the side of the condenser? I took the call off but can't get the top piece out

    • @jan_xw8632
      @jan_xw8632 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On this particular model you are not able to change the single drier element, you need to change the whole condenser. Trust me, I have experience on that issue xD

    • @LeedsHypnotherapist
      @LeedsHypnotherapist 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jan_xw8632 I worked out how to do it on mine in the end. It was way easier than I thought. Glad I didn't have to change the compressor like on some models.
      If anyone else needs to know how to do it on the 330d or similar unscrew the cap with a T50. Remove the clip with circlip or needle nose pliers. Fasten the cap part way on and lever the metal piece out by using a flat blade screwdriver moving around the plastic cap. Retighten it as needed until the metal piece is out.

    • @LeedsHypnotherapist

      I meant condenser not compressor.

    • @derekrostock1596
      @derekrostock1596 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here. I believe guys are running shorter serpentine belts to bypass compressor which is most of the weight. Just not sure if the belt tensioner works well at that angle or not. I might just try a shorter belt for a few months to make sure it works before I delete everything

    I would recommend anyone doing this to check the condition of their radiator & to buy the two upper radiator hoses, as they will probably break when you try to remove them

  • @LeedsHypnotherapist
    @LeedsHypnotherapist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've just tried doing this but the AC lines are seized on. Any ideas about how to release them?

    • @WsNew
      @WsNew 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same issue, you ever get it figured out?

    • @LeedsHypnotherapist
      @LeedsHypnotherapist 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WsNew a mate recommended using a wallpaper scraper. Force the pipe in one direction so you get a small gap then put the scraper in as a wedge to lever it free. You might need to tap it in. Took two of us. One to hold the pipe and the other to tap in the scraper. Keep repeating around the pipe until it comes out. Might need to upgrade to a screwdriver as you create a gap.
