Pretty pen. What I like about Pilot Pens is their extra fine nibs are true extra fine. I’ve purchased a lot of fountain pens with extra fine nibs that write more like a medium point. I’m in the rabbit hole too! Love the ink

If you ever need another converter - you don't have to replace the entire nib unit, you can get just the converter piece for like 10 bucks! :D

@@MarcellHobbs Oh shoot, I watched the Goulet Pens video on how to fill it, and he said you can just by the separate converter & plug that in instead of a cartridge like any other fountain pen! :( I am glad my amazon one came with it then!
Yes, this is what I’ve found too.
I’ll have to look for that video, because I always thought the nib and converter were a single unit sold. If I wanted a fine instead of extra fine, I’ve got to buy the whole unit for $80.
@@documenting.the.journey Ahh I'm not sure about the nib - sorry I meant the converter to use bottled ink with, that can be bought separately; I don't know about different nib sizes!

Love this! I use and carry the Pilot Vanishing Point in Champagne in the pen loop of my Moterm Weeks cover. I absolutely love it and have never had issues with leaking. I have the Pilot Vanishing Point Decimo in Navy that use in my A6 Techo, both pens with DeAtramentis archival ink. Last evening I received a new Pilot E95s premium fountain pen that I’ll share in a video later today. Enjoy and welcome to the rabbit hole! Oh, btw… just name her Violet!

i haven't used a fountain pen in ages, we only had those in primary school, eastern europe.. i didn't even know they have retractable ones these days :}. this one looks extra lovely.
@5:35: for extra ink, we would 'burp' them: suck up the ink, flip the pen and screw the piston back in till ink shows up at the tip then suck up some extra ink.
ps: only blue was allowed in school but sometimes the stores would run out of blue and would sell violet ink. and i mean Violet, so rich that it would tire up your eyes after a few hours of writing/reading. it also had a horrible taste compared to the blue...

I just ordered this pen (except the fatter version) in yellow gold and I also ordered the pilot falcon in lavender. They should be here on Monday. If I were you I would consider the pilot falcon because the nib is somewhat flexible so you can write calligraphy. I bought mine specifically to draw with when I do watercolor and to use for beautiful calligraphy. I share your excitement!!

I have the Decimo in Champagne Pink with a Fine nib. It's so comfortable to use, no hard start to write! I love the design, it's innovative and beautifully made. I know some people have a problem with the clip being so close to the nib, but I'm finding no problem with it. The Fine nib seems more like an EF!
Yes, I love it too. The clip does not bother me. The EF is a touch scratchy and VERY fine. So I think the F is going to be wonderful for most people!
I hope! Because I bye now the Decimo in Purple, with F nib! I wait, than arrive it! :)
Hi there!
Just wanted to pop in here and say JetPens doesn't sell the Decimo with the converter anymore. I recently purchased the Decimo (F) in Pearl White and the notes say distinctly in bold that a converter is NOT included.
However, it's super easy to refill the cartridge it comes with using a syringe. You can buy the CON 40 Pilot converter and use it like normal in any other Pilot pen, but I would avoid doing that. The ink capacity in the CON 40 is garbo. A Pilot cartridge seems to hold more ink! Unless you like a smaller resivoir--in that case all the power to you!
Just a tip for those like myself who ink up a pen and like it to last longer than a few pages of writing. :)

Nice video! I've had my eye on the Vanishing Point for months and just pulled the trigger. I got a black carbonesque with a broad nib from Jet Pens. Still need to ink it and break it in.

@@justchaad9161 I really like it a lot! Occasionally I will feel the EF nib is scratchy but I’m too worried to go up to a Fine because I’m worried it will be too thick.

and how does one even choose the nib size on such an expansive pen, I can't decide because I love all nibs xD
the box is disappointing tho but oh well! the kakuno has a nicer box :3
It was an investment for sure. I did a ton of research, watched a ton of videos and talked to a ton of people. I chose the EF because it’s closest to a .3, which I like more than a .5 in a gel pen. And the box is kinda boring huh? Lol.

and yeah. honestly I could never choose my own nib so I just picked medium (twsbi eco, i'm dying from hype waiting for it to arrive!)

When you look into the opening with the nib inside, does that horizontal piece align perfectly or is it a bit off centre or tilted (slight)?
It’s pretty even! I’m no expert though, so if it’s slightly off, I can’t see it.

Hey Carla, thank you very much for the review! I just got mine today and was playing around with it....do you feel that the pen clip gets in your way when you are writing? It's a weird for me to get used to, but again, I just got this today and LOVE the EF nib too!!
Hey Ruth, thanks for watching! I actually am not bothered by the clip. I know it may bother some. But the way I hold the pen, my fingers don’t touch each other, so the clip is between my grip.
Thanks for sharing! I’m contemplating but saw lots of reviews of ink leakage. Have you found that to be true?
I haven’t had any issues. I am using the CON40 cartridge though, so not sure if what you found was with the cartridge or the pre filled refills.
