Khutbah: Last 10 nights & blessings of and catching Laylatul Qadr - Sh. Dr. Yasir Qadhi

- The final 10 days of Ramadan are the most significant and important days of the entire year. There is no parallel.
Once the final 10 entered, the Prophet (pbuh) would exert himself unlike any other time in the year. He would spend most of the night in worship and wake his family too.
-Laylatul Qadr is the pinnacle of the entire year, holier than any other day/night.
-Surah Dhukan has 6 verses on Laylatul Qadr.
-The decision for the upcoming year is announced on this night to the angels
-No previous Ummah was blessed with this night
-83 years (1,000 months) of worship can be achieved by worshiping this one night
-Meaning of Qadr is "significance/glory"
-2nd meaning "the one who worships Allah becomes significant
-3rd meaning "tight and restricted" due to entire horizon being packed with angels when they descend, including Jibril (greatest of angels)
-Nothing changes Qadr other than du'a
-What are the blessings of Laylatul Qadr?
a) Quran was revealed on this night
b) Better than 1,000 months (83.3 years)
c) Allah calls it Laylatul Mubarakah ("night of extended good")
d) Only night that Jibril (a.s.) comes down
e) It is the night of peace, due to overwhelming presence of angels, shayateen are ineffective
f) Whoever prays entire night all of his previous sins are forgiven, as long as you stand believing in Allah and expecting Allah's reward
g) Allah has revealed entire surah on it (Surah Qadr)
Hadith: "Jibril told me what I am seeking is in the last 10"

In the mosque where the sermon is being delivered in advance, if they cannot observe it there, I think they have a fault in their foreheads.
When one is making Dua one must join palms and raise hands -(close eyes) and pray in humility and not just say it looking around. That is like making a mockery of Dua.
Where did you learn that you have to close your eyes while making duaa? There's nothing like closing the eyes while making duaa in Islam
What to do in the last 10 days of Ramadhan?
You can in between maghrib and isha pray a lot of nafl mutlaq prayers. Then during the night say a lot of thikr from the sunnah, make dua, recite from the mushaff and then after isha you can pray as many rakahs as you can up until fajr time.
1. Read Qurán and it's tafseer to understand it better.
2. Nafil salah,
3. read hadiths,
4. dikhr,
5.listen to Islamic lecture and increase in knowledge.
6. And even glorify Allah for such magnificent creation such as sun and moon. Who is there to create such things with such perfection. SubhanAllah.
I pray you get to achieve Laylatul Qadr and May Allah SWT accept your worship. Ameen

Please do not mention the 3 nights or one night of 27th. Rasool SAWS didn't mention it. He said in the last odd nights of 10 nights. Salaam/peace.
r u sure he did not mention it ? have you do research ? because there are many sahaba understood and stated that they believe the 27th is the Night ?

opinion - a belief or judgement that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. So when you hear anyone say "opinion" know that it is not from ALLAH or the Holy Prophet .

Btw, I've always seen people spell "Laila ul qadar" but this year, everyone seems to be spelling it laylat ul qadr, what is going on? such coordination is unheard of among muslims. ;)

This is spelling in English! Realize this are Arabic words being translated to English. Some say ayat others say ayah in terms of spelling
