Surah Al-Qadr - Laylatul Qadr (Full Video) - Nouman Ali Khan

  • Surah Al-Qadr is entirely dedicated to Laylatul Qadr, the most noble of nights during the month of Ramadan when the Quran was first revealed. In this video, Ustadh Nouman teaches us the nuances of the phrase “laylatul qadr” in Arabic, which combines the meanings of night of “decree”, “honor” and “power”. This is the night when Allah will decree that the angels execute all His decisions for the rest of the year; when Allah revealed the most honorable words through His most honored angel to His most honored messenger. Finally it is a night endowed with unusual power; a night when all our sincere duaa will be accepted. It is the ultimate night of peace and prayer; one we must take advantage of as the blessed month of Ramadan comes to a close. But above all else, Laylatul Qadr is a celebration of the Quran.

Brother Nauman is a gift from Allah I tell ya man. I started listening to him a year ago when I discovered his channel. He humanizes Islam like no one..yet his knowledge and command and natural reverence for constantly searching is amazing. He helped me so much when I was truly down and very alone. Because of him and Brother Omar Suleyman I can call myself a Muslim now. Allah be pleased with you brother.

Bless you. You're right. I've learned so much from them both, and also from Shaikh Nurjan Mirahmadi. They're humble. They respect Allah swt, the Holy Prophet pbuh, the audience enough to speak to us like we're intelligent beings ready to learn.
I haven't come across that much in my own tradition, so had to look elsewhere.
Islam needs to have soft, approachable, charismatic and humble representatives. Genuine people.
Brother Nouman Ali is definitely one of them!
I pray you are with good people and in a good place now in your life and faith.
I can relate to being alone and without the support needed. It is when the online community is so helpful.

Such beautiful explanation of Laytal al-Qadr my tears just came pouring out! 😢😢😢I'm in great need of finding Laytal al-Qadr this Ramadhan than ever before. Alhamdulillah ...This Ramadhan I'm in a group of Teraweeh prayers where we will complete the whole Quran recitation in Teraweeh prayers...insyaAllah. I've managed to keep up with Quran recitation with understanding...a juz each morning! May Allah grant all of us Believers who are seeking Laytal al-Qadr find it ... Aameen Ya Rabb 😭😭😭
I know this Ramadhan has been very special to me...I feel I'm much closer to Allah and the Quran...The enjoyment of reciting the Quran every morning before and after Fajr prayer has given extra strength to be a practicing Muslim in a Non-Muslim environment ... SubhanAllah.
    Ya Allah ... Laytal al-Qadr ... Ya Allah 😭😭😭

My first Ramadan was amazing. Laylatul Qadr was felt all day. It was the most beautiful day, peaceful, flowing, everything felt blessed throughout the day. Four of us went to walk the beach after iftar and prayers. Admiring the sky, waves and breezy evening, feeling oh so grateful we saw a far off light in the sky, bright and it was coming closer towards us. All 4 of us confirmed we all were seeing it. When this beautiful perfect light in the shape of a square envelope with one corner of it in the shape of a birds head. We were in awe as it fell from the sky into the water at our feet and disappeared! We were amazed and felt as if the angels sent down the msg of salam. SubhanAllah, Allah ahlam It was amazing.

He is so right. some nights in Ramadan when I stand in prayers I get the feeling like when you are in a plane and it takes off. And when the prayers are done, I feel like the plane has landed!!! As if I'm going away, going out of this world. And I have a confession to make for this year's Ramadan. I can confess b/c no one knows me here personally. A couple of nights ago as I was praying, I saw someone or something sitting in front of me and starring at me. As if he or it was asking me what do I want!!! I did say what I wanted. I felt like the room was filled with angels. I want to say that God Himself was sitting in front of me. But most likely was a special angel. It lasted for good few minutes.
It is not uncommon for me to feel that angels are in the room during the nights of Ramadan. But this year was sooooo special.
    Ameen ya Rab al alameen.

Last Ramadan specifically 2 weeks before last Ramadan I took my shahada, I was alone and had nobody in Islam that was close to me. I was alone after my mom pasted and had nobody but myself, working every night and being by myself it was hard, I remember all Ramadan asking for a partner, this Ramadan alhamdulilah I’m in Morocco watching this video with my wife. Allah is the greatest of planners. ALHAMDULILAH!

I was sad, driven to tears because I couldn't go to the masjid tonight because I live far away and now I'm hearing that it's even better to perform these duas alone. It must be true that there are angels around, because something was making me listen to this video, listen to the very end. Alhamdulillah.

You can repeat Surah Al Ikhlas over and over, Alhamdulillah it does not take long ( its 250x Surah Al Ikhlas).
Moreover 1x Al Ikhlas is 1/3 of the Qur'an, imagine the reward if Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accepts it. Subhanallah.

To the best of my understanding, Sheikh is a title given to an Alim, ie a scholar of the Deen who studied the ahadith, fiqh, and shariah of Islam under other scholars. It takes approximately seven years of full-time study to become an Alim.
Nouman ali khan is not a scholar (because he didn't study the Alim course), but he's a student of the Arabic language. He's spent years learning classical Arabic and teaches the Quran with the guidance of his teachers and the knowledge he's learnt bi Rahmatillah of the language. So he's an Ustadh, which is a teacher.
Hope this makes it more clear :)

I advice you to pray Qiyam al layl with 1000 ayat, there is a hadith regarding this.
"The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone prays at night reciting regularly ten verses, he will not be recorded among the negligent; if anyone prays at night and recites a hundred verses, he will be recorded among those who are obedient to Allah; and if anyone prays at night reciting one thousand verses, he will be recorded among those who receive huge rewards."
      classed as Sahih by Al-Albani
I advice you too try to do it every night in Ramadan and also outside of Ramadan,. With the permission of Allah tabarak wa ta'ala it does not take long
Please share this to everyone you know and on youtube so we may get reward with the permission of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

assalamu alaikum warahmatullah wabaraqatuh from 2021 Ramadaan 11th day.
such an informative talk mashaAllah it really opened up many perspectives for me and couldn't hold back tears hearing the "time extension" made by Allah till sunrise (not dawn) for the sake of us. like when we give an extension to students during an exam, as we observe they have a hard time completing it, just to let them do a little better, or like when a mom lets her kid to sleep 10 more mins after she called out to wake up for school service, kust because she cannot be that sharp enough to drag the kid out of bed. this is what rahmat is, we are blessed as humanity, "what a huge love we are exposed to, and we are not aware of," I thought while listening, how much we are loved, alhamdullilah

Narrated from ‘Aishah (ra) that she said, “O Messenger of Allah, what should I say in my supplication if I come upon Laylatul-Qadr?” He (ﷺ) said,
    “Say: ‘اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي‘Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni O Allah, You are Pardoning and love to pardon, so pardon me .'”
