Hi Jerry, I am a full member of the Academy and have learned a great deal from being a member. What I have done to speed up drying time, and yes I did check with Gamblin, is to start with dry pigment and mix in Galkyd. I sift the pigment through a fine sieve then add the Galkyd, nothing else. A four ounce container of pigment will use up to 1/4 cup of galkyd. Certain pigments will use less. I then place the paint into a tube. I do not use a glass muller. I just work it with a palette knife so it is not as fine a blend if I was to use it for painting. I find that moving it through a fine sieve (150) works well. once added to the cold wax (50/50) it works well. Great Academy.....thanx

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Have learned a lot from just this one session but looking forward to more. Am a professional artist but new to cold wax. Thank you for your generosity 😊

Thanks for this very helpful info. How do oil/cwm or cwm-finished paintings fare in very warm tropical environments? Will they be fine anywhere once dry?

I love your channel! 🙌. Can you tell me how long after creating an oil painting with cold wax can I then roll up the canvas and ship it? Thank you! Btw I LOVE the painting behind you. Is that oil or charcoal?

I'm doing the homework before making my own cold wax. The incompatibility of alkyd and Damar resin has come up. I'm wondering if others have experience of this.
