Thank you all for correcting me on my comment on him lip-syncing - that is the case for 99% of musicians so I genuinely thought he did as well. Apologies ! ♥️
You're only partly wrong. Dan does prerecord his vocals, but he also sings while filming the video. He may have more cameras now, but he used to have just one, and would perform the song three (or more times) and move the camera to a different spot for each performance. Then he would pick his best vocal and edit the videos together to get different camera angles.
I think some folks hear “lip sync” and think it’s a cheat-like Milli Vanilli back in the day. Pre-recording the vocals (and instruments) before making the actual video is very common-it lets the musicians focus on the music in studio without thinking about how they look, and where the acoustics, etc. are ideal, and then they can sing along (“lip sync”) with the audio recording when they do the video, which may be done on a set or location that doesn’t have great acoustics, but provides the visuals they want. You noted Dan seems to be in a studio here, so in this case he may have done it live, but it isn’t a bad thing if he did it the usual way. And this guy would never need to lip sync in concert (what Milli Vanilli infamously did). He might sound a little more raw in concert, after talking all day and tiring his voice, but he obviously has the chops to do everything we hear here in a live setting without issue.
@@lkayh some singers, especially pop stars, do "cheat"-- even in concert. They just mouth the words while dancing around (with a headset!) to pre-recorded vocals. It's kind of insulting to the audience, really. So when anyone says Dan is lip-syncing, it conjures the idea of these modern artists who are doing pretty much what Milli Vanilli did (only to their own recordings). So yeah, fans get upset. But they also don't understand that even in Dan's oldest videos, we're hearing one audio track (though some have multiple layers) while watching several videos spliced together. It's still important to note that Dan is still singing in every video, not just mouthing the words.
@@elissahunt I kind of get it, though. If their act involves a lot of dancing, they might lip sync during the harder routines (their vocals aren’t going to be the same if they’re jumping around, even if they have amazing breath control and support). And then when they stand still for some numbers they might sing live. Also, if they have been on a long tour, voices do tire, and instead of sounding raggedy or canceling a concert, they might choose to lip sync. A lot of folks seem to expect their idols to be superhuman and get mad when they aren’t. Much as we love Dan Vasc, Dimash, et al, their breath probably stinks in the morning, same as everyone else. LOL.
Great reaction. Dan can sing any genre from Opera to Heavy Metal but his home base is metal and his range spans many octave ranges. He produces his videos in his garage, does his own mixing, arranging and he does not lipsync. Dan has over 200+ song in his catalog. You should check out his range in Bring Me To Live and Amazing Grace. His latest release is My Heart Will Go On and he made it his own totally. Dan has in an interview explained how he records his videos. He usually records a minimum of 3 videos with cameras recording from different angles. He always sings the song live while recording, and then chooses the soundtrack he likes the best, when editing the video. In case he needs chorus those recordings are made in addition to the main vocal tracks, and he often places video screenshots of those recordings too - as seen in songs like f.ex. My mother told me, Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody etc....

I appreciate your attempt but with 5 years music experience I’m not sure you understand what Dan is doing and maybe should just appreciate his talent and watch more of his videos. He doesn’t lip sync, he’s not limited to one genre and he does everything himself in a garage. His brand is perfect for him already.
Dan never lip syncs! What you hear and see is Dan actually singing! The voices you hear are his. He layers his own voice many times to get the sounds he wants. Hate to see you put Dan in a box! What appeals to me is his simplicity and his voice. I like the variety of songs he sings. Hope you do more from Dan.

I really enjoyed your reaction to Dan Vasc. He has studied and trained for years to hone his skills and man, he has become a brilliant artist. His studio is in his garage. He does most of his own arrangements, mixing, programming music. He has guest guitarists from time to time. After the first 2 episodes of The Witcher TV series, he immediately heard how it could be done and went to work non-stop to get it released before anyone else and he did, and this song launched his channel. He is unique in how many genres he can excel at, from metal to opera, to show tunes, to '80's rock and roll. My Heart Will Go On is like nothing you will ever hear. Please react to more of his music. He has a great original song with his band Fearless, called A Tale With No End.

I think what makes Dan stand out from the crowd is that he tastefully adds metal to the songs that he does. I've heard way too many covers get ruined by overdoing the metal aspects. Also, Dan does not do just metal (as many have already mentioned) and when he steps outside of the genre, he still does a phenomenal job; not many can make that claim as they are usually locked into a particular sound.

Just want to be sure you know as one other commenter said Dan never lip syncs. If you see him singing, he's singing. Please continue to review Dan Vasc and I think you will continue to be impressed. His fans are incredibly devoted and will revisit your channel whenever a new Dan reaction becomes available. Others have already made some suggestions but a good starter would be Amazing grace which was how so many of us originally got hooked on Dan. Honestly, I can't get enough of this exceptional singer. His sheer musicianship is breathtaking. Dan records in his garage, and does everything himself. He has a band Fearless. Dan has been offered recording contracts and has turned them down. He prefers to go it alone and he is doing great. He has close to one million subs and his Amazing Grace was fourth on Amazons top five best selling list. His Friday Night Tights video, which Dan wrote and sang was #1 on the list in that category. I'm very happy to find someone who goes and finds the information they are seeking, even in the middle of a reaction! 😀 Also, you correctly identified the low tenor beginning, rather than hearing that, and then immediately tagging him as a bass. Dan can SING bass (which is LOVELY), but in this song...not. Very good! THEN...you sang that high note very nicely at 5:02 in this video! 😍 - - - - - - - - - - 6:43...YES! 🤩 8:01...Don't make the mistake of thinking that Dan is LIMITED to being a tenor, and that you've now heard the extent of his HUGE vocal range...nope! 😂😇 There are lots of songs where you can hear more of that range, but a really FUN one (wherein Dan had to actually sing the entire song through at LEAST 96 times) is his "Hallelujah [Chorus] One-Man-Choir" (from Handel's Messiah). He sings all EIGHT parts, and portrays all three "singers of each part"! Dan always records each part at LEAST four times, then decides which ones to use in the final product. That was one of his earlier videos, in a very different studio setting, in his own house. The black studio you see here, was created completely by him. He has made some videos that tell about that time, and why he did what he did...to his own garage. There's more to the studio than just that one wall, and you can see more of it in a lot of the reels he posts on Instagram (and Facebook). 8:48...I KNEW you were going to jump into that with great JOY, and you DID! 😀 9:25...Yes...one of the things he's also told us, is that after he has finished singing a metal song to his satisfaction, he spends 24 hours without speaking...period. An example of that can be seen on his Instagram account. Search there, for Dan Vasc, then Reels, then look through the array until you see the one with just his face winking at you, with a smirky grin, and with the written intro sentence, "Halloween video coming your way." It was posted on October 9, 2023. We knew that he was telling the truth in that intro sentence, because we also know his discipline for the following 24 hours. In that reel, he didn't just leave it at that. We got a second hint. I won't tell you what it was. You should have the fun of figuring it out for yourself, if you don't already know what he sang in that promised video. 😁 9:39...Loved it when you reacted to Dan's wonderful voice-type-switch, back to "rock singer," rather than "metal singer." The enjoyment on your face was priceless! 🥰 10:37...Oops! A wrong answer! Dan NEVER lip syncs. As I mentioned, he always sings a track multiple times, then simply (hah!) chooses which one he will use, and THAT'S IT. What he GOT is what you SEE, and what you SEE is what you GET...PERIOD. Whenever he DOES grab that mic, "Wait for it...!!!" That's when things get intense. 😲 11:54...YES! "My Heart Will Go On!" I would LOVE to see & hear you react to that one. It's his newest at this point in time. Interestingly, I had guessed that he had been going to present it as his Easter offering for this year, but he didn't (it was a month earlier). However...the tenets of that song, in general, actually showcase his already known and understood belief in God. Since he did NOT make a second new song, for "Resurrection Sunday," I still think that "My Heart Will Go On" was doing double duty for 2024. 12:11...Agreed on the love of "fantasy." Dan's attachment to that, is evident in both his music and his gaming, and his favorite author is...Tolkien. 12:44...Dan also does anime' openings...in their native languages. He also does folk music, and many other genres, AND sea shanties. Even if you don't react to them, I do hope you'll simply start looking for more and more, and ENJOY what he does, just as thoroughly as you've enjoyed this one, and therefore given US a beautiful time of enjoyment. 16:08...Dan uses a variety of musical and visual background techniques -- depending on what he wants to say THROUGH them -- that meld in perfectly with his well-chosen voice presentation for those moments. Check out, for instance, his SECOND version of the video (which is entirely recorded LIVE, IN that very studio) for "Dawn of Victory," with Fabio Lione, who actually got in touch with DAN, to see if he would do the duet with him, during a time when he (Fabio) was on tour in Brazil. In THAT video, the band playing for Dan and Lione was FEARLESS, which is Dan's OWN band. The bass player in it is Davi (Dah VEE), his two-year-younger brother. Gabriel Belozi is the OTHER guitar player (he plays ANY type of guitar), who is a childhood friend to Dan and Davi. The oh-so-EXCELLENT drummer is Giovanni Rezende (also a childhood friend to all three of the Brazilian "boys"), and WOW...is he GREAT! All three of them, by the way, have their OWN channels (Davi has two...I'm one of his patrons). Mostly, though, Dan uses MIDI files, and occasional guest guitarists or keyboardists (all of them except FEARLESS are through digital connections). He can also play SOME of the background music himself, though he says that he's not skilled enough to do it all. He DOES, however, do all of his own background VOCALS (as mentioned above). As soon as that 1M Subscriber mark shows up (and you should check out Dan's cover of "A Million Dreams"), the RECORDING will begin for the album. We are all SO excited for that to happen!!! In some of his "discussion" videos, and when he's guesting on podcasts, he'll talk about all of the different TYPES of metal music (i.e. POWER Metal, SYMPHONIC Metal, and HEAVY Metal). He doesn't bill himself as a HEAVY METAL singer, though he COULD. He bills himself as a METAL singer. He also, because he loves music in GENERAL, presents us with a large variety of NON-METAL music, that is simply SUPERB. You just need to go traveling through the HUGE "rabbit-hole" of his channel, and possibly also look for other songs he's done with other artists, all over the internet. I can tell you this: Dan will NOT be hiring anyone else to do his marketing. Nope. You may want to check out the Young Rippa channel that carries a variety of different interviewers and does a variety of topics, to see and hear what Dan had to say about these types of things, in a very recent video on, named "Metal & Independence w/ @DanVasc | For Canon Sake Ep: 458" (the interviewer is Eric July). 17:17...Dan is NOT limited to being "distinctive" in ANY SINGLE GENRE. Dan is "distinctive," in that he DOESN'T limit himself to any single genre. Period. 18:23...I had to laugh at your reading of "a few" of the comments on the video presentation, itself. You looked cursorily at, what? Five of them? You should go back and TRY to get to the bottom of the comments section for ANY Dan Vasc video. Nine times out of ten, there will be NO BOTTOM that you can get to! I've spent HOURS upon HOURS looking for the bottom the comments on ALL of Dan's 245 videos on his own channel alone. Even on the reels he posts on both Facebook and Instagram, he gets upwards of 300 comments on the day they are posted. His channel videos get (and I'm TOTALLY SERIOUS) MANY THOUSANDS of comments -- especially over time. SERIOUSLY! The older they are, the harder it is to find "the bottom of the well." Each new "generation" of subscribers (usually 1000 - 2000 subscribers every single day) adds to the VascNation total. @@umarae27 -- Yes, but I have no clue when it will be coming out. I had seen a few more comments, back in late October, indicating that it was almost ready, and/or may have been sent to the music venues for approval, but since then...nothing. When it happens, it will happen.
CF, You were correct re: recording. Today, 4-25-24 , I just saw and heard Dan stream that he has to record VOCALS in his home studio, not in his garage. (As I had previously believed) . He records his best vocal audio,. Later he goes into his garage to film the video from 3 different angles. Although he is ACTUALLY SINGING 3 times while the making videos, he can't use the vocals he sang while filming because the acoustics are bad in the garage. He said he used to just turn his body and the mike. Now he moves the camera/ lights 3 times. ( Dan is an avid gamer and into fantasy. His original EP "Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom" with his band, Fearless , focuses on epic stories of the Old Testament prophet Elijah and his journeys. The best video showing Dan's Fearless band is "Dawn of Victory" featuring Fabio Leone of Rhapsody of Fire-Italy and now Angra. As awesome as this cover is, it is FAR from his most impressive. For a start, I recommend his Amazing Grace and My Heart Will Go On. He also sings opera, broadway, rock and heavy metal. He is the most versatile and amazing singer out there. You haven't heard enough to adequately describe him. You will enjoy this research! Loved your interesting reaction.
I think most people have given you the rundown on Dan. He is amazing and cannot be pigeonhole although metal is his favorite. Since you mentioned Jonathan Young, you might like Dan’s version of “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan.
Dan can definitely layer his voice. Check out Africa, Bohemian Rapsody, Handel’s Halleluia Chorus. KISS From a Rose just to name a few. You will find that everything Dan sings is awesome. No one out there on TH-cam is as good as Dan, in my opinion.
Dan sings every note, sometimes many times. Sometimes to harmonize (i see fire, is an example, scarborough fair, and many others). He sometimes takes the best "takes" to make an epic finale. He sometimes collabs his harmonies with self into a fun and precise choral, like his Handel's Hallelujah, for instance where we get to enjoy a panel of 24 Dan's singing all the ranges. He totally out does even himself. He is/was also a vocal coach & his students can literally see the way his teeth, tongue, posture, diaphram, etc create the sounds & power he shares to them, while, as you said, his diaphram is used instead of his throat. Great analysis, walk through! (Except for the 1 small blurt where you assumed he lips a previous recording). Subbing for more Dan.

Dan Vasc does all his videos live in his studio in his garage. Has almost a million subscribers at this point and his fan base loves him. He's has amazing vocal range, breath control, power and passion to perform. Does everything from metal to opera, Broadway, Disney and 80's rock. For another great metal example I'd suggest Burn Butcher Burn, also from The Witcher.
Agreed. I think ALL the Witcher videos should be watched, because every single one is slightly different in style. There are only five of them - "Toss a Coin...", two versions of "Priscilla's Song," "Song of the White Wolf," and "Burn Butcher Burn" (which is the one I REALLY love watching new reactors do...grin).

Funny thing is, Dan is tired of the hype about his goid looks. Maybe, just maybe, that's also why he started wearing his beard in the "round". (To make him appear to be chinless & toothless at times). Those who've followed him all this time, know he has a gorgeous face & chin, & have enjoyed his various beard stages as well. Until this latest stage anyways. Yet, he's still achieving the compliments about his looks. He don't fool anybody, tehe.
@@umarae27I’m really glad you mentioned this. I actually don’t blame him for being tired of hearing about his looks sometimes being the focus of videos. Of course everybody wants to be visually appealing to others…. but when that’s constantly the focus, it completely negates all of the years of HARD work that he’s done to perfect his skills. He is proud of accomplishments, not necessarily what’s been handed to him.
You should listen to his version of Amazing Grace. He covers a voice range of only a half step short of 4 octaves and does a fantastic job of showcasing different techniques. He's an amazingly talented man.

What an interesting approach. How do you “brand” such a versatile performer? It’s Dan and a mic, but although his real love is metal and hard rock, he sings in a wide range of genres, from folk to opera. He has very extensive musical training in classical and metal techniques, and is impossible to put him in a box. I think Dan’s brand is Dan and the whole range of what he can do, and I feel sure it’s very carefully thought out. All his five Witcher covers are great, but they’re a small part of what he does. Maybe try The Music of the Night, or Angels We Have Heard on High, or Amazing Grace, or My Heart Will Go On, for a a few glimpses of the many sides of this phenomenal artist. YES! I like that! "Dan's brand is DAN!" I have NEVER seen anyone else (and doubt that I will) (and I have extensive experience in both vocal and instrumental music) BE his own brand, like Dan can and does. Dan watched some but was unimpressed as most reactors didn't know of the techniques required to produce his vocals. Yes! Dan has praised Elizabeth ("The Charismatic Voice") more than once. The first time I saw it, was on his YT channel's Community Page...in a separate post from anything else. He was absolutely right, too! I had listened to her reaction three times, because she had SO much to say, and it was SO good...just as soon as it popped up.Every once in a while, I got back and find it, because I want to check out something else I've noticed about Dan, to see if she had covered it, and so far I haven't found one thing she left out. It's HIGHLY comprehensive, beautifully said, and with a TON of respect.

Only one little point: I don’t know, if your take on this as a brand manager really works. It sounded a little inapt. In order to “brand“ Dan, Vasc, you need to listen to all the different genre that he sings. He sings heavy metal power metal, 80s covers, opera, folk music, some spirituals as well. Dan doesn’t need you to brand him, Dan has done an amazing job of branding himself. I would also recommend for you, to listen to the songs all the way through, before you talk about whether person you are listening to are asking others to subscribe to them or not.
You are fun. Glad you liked Dan Vasc. He has lots of styles. I think I know what his unique ness is, but i want you to find out on your one. He us very soecial and loved by all ages of people. He has a large following of 50 to 70 year old fans, because of his song amazing Grace. It is a gentle introduction to metal. After that they are fans of almost every thing he does.

I’m glad you said this!👆 I’ve caught myself saying what amazing talent Dan has sometimes…. instead of skill. He’s very proud (as he should be!) of all of the hard work and effort that he’s put into his voice/songs/career. People would see how perfectly he has honed his skills if they’d watch some of his beginning videos. He’s worked SO hard for years to become this amazing vocalist that we see today. Saying that he’s simply talented, while it is very complimentary, it negates all of his hard work.
I think Dan would be a brand manager/marketing guy's dream. He's willing and ABLE to sing in a WIDE range of genres, and he seems to have no qualms stepping out of his "usual" style of singing. He's done amazingly well on everything from metal to musical theatre to hymns to.. pretty much whatever he tries.

Dan read a book called Primal Branding about 5 yrs ago. He often says that he enjoys reading books about self enhancement, development, business, etc. I’m not sure what parts of that book (if any), he’s implemented to his career but he’s certainly done well building his brand. He also seems to follow many teachings of Jordan Peterson.
He does metal, folk, stage, opera, rock. Most of the songs he changes to metal, others he keeps to the original. He is also an all round humble person. No one has reacted to Dan from marketing perspective. We know that his is good at it, with just a tick under a million subs, but we can always learn, and from what I've seen of Dan he will take your free advice and run with it. He does original music with his band Fearless, and he hs fronted Orions reign. He does killer collaberations, and everything from Handel, to Sabaton. All of them are almost painfully excellent. By the way Casper, the aw shucks stuff about your own singing is cute, but we know better.

We know what to expect when Dan grabs the mic! It’s always a treat. Oh and he does never and will never lip sync. Ever.
You're only partly wrong. Dan does prerecord his vocals, but he also sings while filming the video. He may have more cameras now, but he used to have just one, and would perform the song three (or more times) and move the camera to a different spot for each performance. Then he would pick his best vocal and edit the videos together to get different camera angles.
I think some folks hear “lip sync” and think it’s a cheat-like Milli Vanilli back in the day. Pre-recording the vocals (and instruments) before making the actual video is very common-it lets the musicians focus on the music in studio without thinking about how they look, and where the acoustics, etc. are ideal, and then they can sing along (“lip sync”) with the audio recording when they do the video, which may be done on a set or location that doesn’t have great acoustics, but provides the visuals they want. You noted Dan seems to be in a studio here, so in this case he may have done it live, but it isn’t a bad thing if he did it the usual way. And this guy would never need to lip sync in concert (what Milli Vanilli infamously did). He might sound a little more raw in concert, after talking all day and tiring his voice, but he obviously has the chops to do everything we hear here in a live setting without issue.
@@lkayh some singers, especially pop stars, do "cheat"-- even in concert. They just mouth the words while dancing around (with a headset!) to pre-recorded vocals. It's kind of insulting to the audience, really. So when anyone says Dan is lip-syncing, it conjures the idea of these modern artists who are doing pretty much what Milli Vanilli did (only to their own recordings). So yeah, fans get upset. But they also don't understand that even in Dan's oldest videos, we're hearing one audio track (though some have multiple layers) while watching several videos spliced together. It's still important to note that Dan is still singing in every video, not just mouthing the words.
@@elissahunt I kind of get it, though. If their act involves a lot of dancing, they might lip sync during the harder routines (their vocals aren’t going to be the same if they’re jumping around, even if they have amazing breath control and support). And then when they stand still for some numbers they might sing live. Also, if they have been on a long tour, voices do tire, and instead of sounding raggedy or canceling a concert, they might choose to lip sync. A lot of folks seem to expect their idols to be superhuman and get mad when they aren’t. Much as we love Dan Vasc, Dimash, et al, their breath probably stinks in the morning, same as everyone else. LOL.

Dan has in an interview explained how he records his videos.
He usually records a minimum of 3 videos with cameras recording from different angles.
He always sings the song live while recording, and then chooses the soundtrack he likes the best, when editing the video.
In case he needs chorus those recordings are made in addition to the main vocal tracks, and he often places video screenshots of those recordings too - as seen in songs like f.ex. My mother told me, Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody etc....

I really enjoyed your reaction to Dan Vasc. He has studied and trained for years to hone his skills and man, he has become a brilliant artist. His studio is in his garage. He does most of his own arrangements, mixing, programming music. He has guest guitarists from time to time. After the first 2 episodes of The Witcher TV series, he immediately heard how it could be done and went to work non-stop to get it released before anyone else and he did, and this song launched his channel. He is unique in how many genres he can excel at, from metal to opera, to show tunes, to '80's rock and roll. My Heart Will Go On is like nothing you will ever hear. Please react to more of his music. I think what makes Dan stand out from the crowd is that he tastefully adds metal to the songs that he does. I've heard way too many covers get ruined by overdoing the metal aspects. Also, Dan does not do just metal (as many have already mentioned) and when he steps outside of the genre, he still does a phenomenal job; not many can make that claim as they are usually locked into a particular sound.

Dan records in his garage, and does everything himself. He has a band Fearless. Dan has been offered recording contracts and has turned them down. He prefers to go it alone and he is doing great. He has close to one million subs and his Amazing Grace was fourth on Amazons top five best selling list. His Friday Night Tights video, which Dan wrote and sang was #1 on the list in that category. 8:01...Don't make the mistake of thinking that Dan is LIMITED to being a tenor, and that you've now heard the extent of his HUGE vocal range...nope! 😂😇
There are lots of songs where you can hear more of that range, but a really FUN one (wherein Dan had to actually sing the entire song through at LEAST 96 times) is his "Hallelujah [Chorus] One-Man-Choir" (from Handel's Messiah). He sings all EIGHT parts, and portrays all three "singers of each part"! Dan always records each part at LEAST four times, then decides which ones to use in the final product. That was one of his earlier videos, in a very different studio setting, in his own house. The black studio you see here, was created completely by him. He has made some videos that tell about that time, and why he did what he did...to his own garage. There's more to the studio than just that one wall, and you can see more of it in a lot of the reels he posts on Instagram (and Facebook).

It was posted on October 9, 2023.
We knew that he was telling the truth in that intro sentence, because we also know his discipline for the following 24 hours. In that reel, he didn't just leave it at that. We got a second hint. I won't tell you what it was. You should have the fun of figuring it out for yourself, if you don't already know what he sang in that promised video. 😁

10:37...Oops! A wrong answer! Dan NEVER lip syncs. As I mentioned, he always sings a track multiple times, then simply (hah!) chooses which one he will use, and THAT'S IT. What he GOT is what you SEE, and what you SEE is what you GET...PERIOD.
Whenever he DOES grab that mic, "Wait for it...!!!" That's when things get intense. 😲
11:54...YES! "My Heart Will Go On!" I would LOVE to see & hear you react to that one. It's his newest at this point in time. Interestingly, I had guessed that he had been going to present it as his Easter offering for this year, but he didn't (it was a month earlier). However...the tenets of that song, in general, actually showcase his already known and understood belief in God. Since he did NOT make a second new song, for "Resurrection Sunday," I still think that "My Heart Will Go On" was doing double duty for 2024.
12:11...Agreed on the love of "fantasy." Dan's attachment to that, is evident in both his music and his gaming, and his favorite author is...Tolkien.
12:44...Dan also does anime' openings...in their native languages. He also does folk music, and many other genres, AND sea shanties. Even if you don't react to them, I do hope you'll simply start looking for more and more, and ENJOY what he does, just as thoroughly as you've enjoyed this one, and therefore given US a beautiful time of enjoyment.
16:08...Dan uses a variety of musical and visual background techniques -- depending on what he wants to say THROUGH them -- that meld in perfectly with his well-chosen voice presentation for those moments. Check out, for instance, his SECOND version of the video (which is entirely recorded LIVE, IN that very studio) for "Dawn of Victory," with Fabio Lione, who actually got in touch with DAN, to see if he would do the duet with him, during a time when he (Fabio) was on tour in Brazil.
In THAT video, the band playing for Dan and Lione was FEARLESS, which is Dan's OWN band. The bass player in it is Davi (Dah VEE), his two-year-younger brother. Gabriel Belozi is the OTHER guitar player (he plays ANY type of guitar), who is a childhood friend to Dan and Davi. The oh-so-EXCELLENT drummer is Giovanni Rezende (also a childhood friend to all three of the Brazilian "boys"), and WOW...is he GREAT! All three of them, by the way, have their OWN channels (Davi has two...I'm one of his patrons).
Mostly, though, Dan uses MIDI files, and occasional guest guitarists or keyboardists (all of them except FEARLESS are through digital connections). He can also play SOME of the background music himself, though he says that he's not skilled enough to do it all. He DOES, however, do all of his own background VOCALS (as mentioned above). His big sea shanty production ("My Mother Told Me") uses THAT same technique.
You should definitely check out Dan's "Ask Dan" videos (1 and 2), to get more info about all of the above. Plus...there's a video on Odysee that is from his 500,000 Subscriber "party." Just look for Dan there, and you'll see that one, as well as a ton more.
VascNation (which is all, and more, of us who have tumbled in here to see what you had to present in this video) is waiting on tenterhooks right now, for Dan's upcoming 1M Subscriber "party." It's close! Given the 1000 subs per day AVERAGE, we SHOULD be there before the end of April 2024. 🥰
17:00...You need to go listen to the FEARLESS album (you can find it anywhere online, and they have another one in the works). You will hear several different types of METAL in. It is all ORIGINAL music, with a full story, told in the fashion of Tolkien, entitled "Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom." Dan wrote the lyrics, while Davi and the others wrote the music. There are a few videos on Dan's channel, from that album. It's WONDERFUL. We can hardly wait for the next original album, that has been promised.
Also, Dan has completed everything except the actual RECORDING, for his upcoming MANOWAR TRIBUTE album. As soon as that 1M Subscriber mark shows up (and you should check out Dan's cover of "A Million Dreams"), the RECORDING will begin for the album. We are all SO excited for that to happen!!!
In some of his "discussion" videos, and when he's guesting on podcasts, he'll talk about all of the different TYPES of metal music (i.e. POWER Metal, SYMPHONIC Metal, and HEAVY Metal). He doesn't bill himself as a HEAVY METAL singer, though he COULD. He bills himself as a METAL singer. He also, because he loves music in GENERAL, presents us with a large variety of NON-METAL music, that is simply SUPERB. You just need to go traveling through the HUGE "rabbit-hole" of his channel, and possibly also look for other songs he's done with other artists, all over the internet.
I can tell you this: Dan will NOT be hiring anyone else to do his marketing. Nope. You may want to check out the Young Rippa channel that carries a variety of different interviewers and does a variety of topics, to see and hear what Dan had to say about these types of things, in a very recent video on, named "Metal & Independence w/ @DanVasc | For Canon Sake Ep: 458" (the interviewer is Eric July).
17:17...Dan is NOT limited to being "distinctive" in ANY SINGLE GENRE. Dan is "distinctive," in that he DOESN'T limit himself to any single genre. Period.
18:23...I had to laugh at your reading of "a few" of the comments on the video presentation, itself. You looked cursorily at, what? Five of them? You should go back and TRY to get to the bottom of the comments section for ANY Dan Vasc video. Nine times out of ten, there will be NO BOTTOM that you can get to! I've spent HOURS upon HOURS looking for the bottom the comments on ALL of Dan's 245 videos on his own channel alone. Even on the reels he posts on both Facebook and Instagram, he gets upwards of 300 comments on the day they are posted. His channel videos get (and I'm TOTALLY SERIOUS) MANY THOUSANDS of comments -- especially over time. SERIOUSLY! The older they are, the harder it is to find "the bottom of the well."
Each new "generation" of subscribers (usually 1000 - 2000 subscribers every single day) adds to the VascNation total. We are all totally COMMITTED to "being there" for Dan, and we're VERY loyal, AND...we come from all over the entire WORLD.

CF, You were correct re: recording. Today, 4-25-24 , I just saw and heard Dan stream that he has to record VOCALS in his home studio, not in his garage. (As I had previously believed) . He records his best vocal audio,. Later he goes into his garage to film the video from 3 different angles. Although he is ACTUALLY SINGING 3 times while the making videos, he can't use the vocals he sang while filming because the acoustics are bad in the garage. He said he used to just turn his body and the mike. Now he moves the camera/ lights 3 times. ( Dan is an avid gamer and into fantasy. His original EP "Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom" with his band, Fearless , focuses on epic stories of the Old Testament prophet Elijah and his journeys. The best video showing Dan's Fearless band is "Dawn of Victory" featuring Fabio Leone of Rhapsody of Fire-Italy and now Angra. As awesome as this cover is, it is FAR from his most impressive. For a start, I recommend his Amazing Grace and My Heart Will Go On. He also sings opera, broadway, rock and heavy metal. He is the most versatile and amazing singer out there. You haven't heard enough to adequately describe him. You will enjoy this research! Loved your interesting reaction.
I think most people have given you the rundown on Dan. He is amazing and cannot be pigeonhole although metal is his favorite. Since you mentioned Jonathan Young, you might like Dan’s version of “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan.

Dan can definitely layer his voice. Check out Africa, Bohemian Rapsody, Handel’s Halleluia Chorus. KISS From a Rose just to name a few. You will find that everything Dan sings is awesome. No one out there on TH-cam is as good as Dan, in my opinion.

Dan sings every note, sometimes many times. Sometimes to harmonize (i see fire, is an example, scarborough fair, and many others).
He sometimes takes the best "takes" to make an epic finale.
He sometimes collabs his harmonies with self into a fun and precise choral, like his Handel's Hallelujah, for instance where we get to enjoy a panel of 24 Dan's singing all the ranges.
He totally out does even himself.
He is/was also a vocal coach & his students can literally see the way his teeth, tongue, posture, diaphram, etc create the sounds & power he shares to them, while, as you said, his diaphram is used instead of his throat.

Dan Vasc does all his videos live in his studio in his garage. Has almost a million subscribers at this point and his fan base loves him. He's has amazing vocal range, breath control, power and passion to perform. Does everything from metal to opera, Broadway, Disney and 80's rock. For another great metal example I'd suggest Burn Butcher Burn, also from The Witcher.
Agreed. I think ALL the Witcher videos should be watched, because every single one is slightly different in style. There are only five of them - "Toss a Coin...", two versions of "Priscilla's Song," "Song of the White Wolf," and "Burn Butcher Burn" (which is the one I REALLY love watching new reactors do...grin).

Funny thing is, Dan is tired of the hype about his goid looks. Maybe, just maybe, that's also why he started wearing his beard in the "round". Thank you for checking out @dan_vasc he is an amazing artist. From what I understand, he films everything 3 times, for the camera angles and uses the voice from which one he feels is best. So he doesn't actually lip sync. There is no way he can be classed under a certain genre. As you saw, he does metal, but he also does opera (Nessun Dorma), and you mentioned big productions, not too sure what that would entail, but check out 'Gethsemene' from Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. But for a different take on his style, please check out 'Dawn Of Victory' ft. Fabio Lione and Dan's band Fearless. Gives you an idea of the instrumentalists that he has. What an interesting approach. How do you “brand” such a versatile performer? It’s Dan and a mic, but although his real love is metal and hard rock, he sings in a wide range of genres, from folk to opera. He has very extensive musical training in classical and metal techniques, and is impossible to put him in a box. I think Dan’s brand is Dan and the whole range of what he can do, and I feel sure it’s very carefully thought out. All his five Witcher covers are great, but they’re a small part of what he does. Maybe try The Music of the Night, or Angels We Have Heard on High, or Amazing Grace, or My Heart Will Go On, for a a few glimpses of the many sides of this phenomenal artist. He has a loyal fan base and through study, hard work and a passionate work ethic has progressed from his first video in 2010 to the charismatic powerhouse who sings his metal rendition of My Heart Will Go On in 2024. You mentioned the reactorThe Charismatic Voice. Yesterday, on a live stream, Dan was asked if he ever listened to reactions to his music and his video of Amazing Grace was referenced. Dan watched some but was unimpressed as most reactors didn't know of the techniques required to produce his vocals. However Dan mentioned The Charismatic Voice as a reactor who knew the techniques and got it right when she described everything he did to structure Amazing Grace. He likes her professionalism. Please check out the various genres that Dan has covered ...the opera Nessun Dorma, Gethsemane from J C Superstar, Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera, Number of the Beast by Bruce D and IM, O Holy Night etc etc etc.
Yes! Dan has praised Elizabeth ("The Charismatic Voice") more than once. The first time I saw it, was on his YT channel's Community Page...in a separate post from anything else. He was absolutely right, too! I had listened to her reaction three times, because she had SO much to say, and it was SO good...just as soon as it popped up.Every once in a while, I got back and find it, because I want to check out something else I've noticed about Dan, to see if she had covered it, and so far I haven't found one thing she left out. It's HIGHLY comprehensive, beautifully said, and with a TON of respect.

Many, many people, Including me, who would never watch a Metal singer, accidentally watched Dan’s Amazing Grace, and have become loyal Dan fans. His voice is beautiful. His enegy and joy and personality combine to creat a a sense of joy and renewed determination to meet life’s difficulties with strength.
. Amazing Grace starts out as a beautiful song and half way through, he switches to a tasteful. strong triumphant metal style.

Only one little point: I don’t know, if your take on this as a brand manager really works. It sounded a little inapt. In order to “brand“ Dan, Vasc, you need to listen to all the different genre that he sings. He sings heavy metal power metal, 80s covers, opera, folk music, some spirituals as well. Dan doesn’t need you to brand him, Dan has done an amazing job of branding himself. I would also recommend for you, to listen to the songs all the way through, before you talk about whether person you are listening to are asking others to subscribe to them or not.

You are fun. Glad you liked Dan Vasc. He has lots of styles. I think I know what his unique ness is, but i want you to find out on your one. He us very soecial and loved by all ages of people. He has a large following of 50 to 70 year old fans, because of his song amazing Grace. It is a gentle introduction to metal. After that they are fans of almost every thing he does.
Brazilian and Italian. Dan your wonderful. Yes Dan knows exactly how to control his voice without damage and has no problem at all singing different styles. He is constantly working on his singing. He's even added earlier versions of himself singing on youtube so we can hear his progression over time. And never say he's talented he put a lot of hard work and sacrifice to be this great.

I’ve caught myself saying what amazing talent Dan has sometimes…. instead of skill. He’s very proud (as he should be!) of all of the hard work and effort that he’s put into his voice/songs/career. People would see how perfectly he has honed his skills if they’d watch some of his beginning videos. He’s worked SO hard for years to become this amazing vocalist that we see today. Saying that he’s simply talented, while it is very complimentary, it negates all of his hard work.
I think Dan would be a brand manager/marketing guy's dream. He's willing and ABLE to sing in a WIDE range of genres, and he seems to have no qualms stepping out of his "usual" style of singing. He's done amazingly well on everything from metal to musical theatre to hymns to.. pretty much whatever he tries.
I'm excited to check out more of his stuff, I had no idea he did more than just metal. Then again, this is the first time I'm listening to him haha - Can't judge a YT Channel on just one video

Dan read a book called Primal Branding about 5 yrs ago. He often says that he enjoys reading books about self enhancement, development, business, etc. I’m not sure what parts of that book (if any), he’s implemented to his career but he’s certainly done well building his brand. He also seems to follow many teachings of Jordan Peterson.
People watch his videos because they love his voice, he doesn't need anything else.

He does metal, folk, stage, opera, rock. Most of the songs he changes to metal, others he keeps to the original. He is also an all round humble person. I would say, most of his stuff is done in the 80's and 90's style. The uniqueness I think is he will change his voice for the song, listen to his Bon Jovi, Journey, ACDC, Guns N Roses, Elvis covers. No one has reacted to Dan from marketing perspective. We know that his is good at it, with just a tick under a million subs, but we can always learn, and from what I've seen of Dan he will take your free advice and run with it. He does original music with his band Fearless, and he hs fronted Orions reign. He does killer collaberations, and everything from Handel, to Sabaton. All of them are almost painfully excellent. By the way Casper, the aw shucks stuff about your own singing is cute, but we know better.

Thanks for your reaction. Hahahaha! You fell into the trap. So many people automatically assume that Dan lip-syncs. He doesn't. What you hear is Dan singing. If you would like a good view of his singing, check out The Charismatic Voice's reaction to Dan singing Amazing Grace. She does such a good job that Dan features her on his channel.
