I don't think Costa will be able to apply enough constant forward pressure vs Sean. Especially if, as you said, Sean makes good use of the teep.

@@JakeGerberMMA you want to be conscious of the sound / voice - like asmr- but yeah mma Joey has a very calm voice and it’s nice to hear late at night just saying sometimes the harsh yelling can turn ppl off
Costa is going to put his ass to sleep.
They share Uriah Hall as an opponent and the takeaway from that is Sean completely owned Hall that entire fight..like 50-45 round. Costa tore up Hall's body with punches and kicks but Hall did drop Costa and Costa hit Hall with many big shots with little effect. It took quite a few to drop Hall. Hall also is bad at escaping from the fence. Sean is fantastic at slipping away from the fence, great at keeping himself from getting hit with combos and his jab and teep are far better at keeping opponents back.
Sean also took Hall down and Hall took Costa down. I think Sean and Costa are equally great at getting back up, so I can only imagine Sean taking Costa down late in the fight for optics or to prove a point or Costa taking Sean down out of desperation/exhaustion and Sean should have the advantage either way. Sean might grapple and get a takedown in the first to survive the first round but it won't go anywhere.
Hall's defense wasn't great and he still managed to last quite a while against the speed, pressure and power of Costa.
I think it'll be very telling within the first minute of the fight who's going to win. Which guy will have the ability to walk the other down. If Sean has control that early on then it's a cake walk. That jab and his ability to spot and check kicks is incredible. Costa will have to decide whether he throws the kitchen sink to get control or walk back and look for a hole. Sean can tag guys with 80" reaches no problem and Costa only has a 72" reach...

@@JakeGerberMMA the latest vid on sean strickland's channel tells me he's got good sparring partners to prepare him for costa, good stuff, he shouldn't be overwhelmed with costa and seems to be focused on keeping costa from finding his rhythm, you hear that complaint from most of sean strickland's opponents, the inability to find their rhythm
