Hi Lindsey, You were wondering about the Irish Music in the spa at Astorga, I believe that there is historical link between Galicia and the Celt, bag pipes.

    Hi Lindsey,
I have been following your Camino experience through day 27 to Rabinal, and was disappointed to find that no more videos had yet been posted to TH-cam. If I’m reading this right, the latest video was just posted on August 27, so I guess you’re still working on them. I hope so. I’m really enjoying them. My wife and I walked the Camino in September and October of 2018, taking 49 days including 7 rest days. Your videos bring back so many wonderful memories.
After getting married and having a child, the Camino was the most joyous, satisfying and emotional experience I have ever had. I still think about it every day. I empathized with you at the very beginning, when you started questioning whether you could actually do this. The day before we started walking, while we were strolling around St. Jean, we got to talking with another American. He told us that he had started out hiking two days prior with his friend, and that on the first day, his friend had a heart attack and died. He explained that he was on his way to the authorities to see about having the body shipped home. This didn’t help my confidence. I started thinking “What have I done?! We can’t do this.” But we persisted, and I am so thankful that we did.
The only problem is that after you return home, nothing else measures up. Life feels a bit empty. All you can do is plan another experience, but I suspect there can only ever be one first Camino. We’re planning to walk the Hadrian’s Wall path in England next summer.
We took a lot of still photos and kept a blog, but nothing as complete as yours. I’m so appreciative for your doing this. Please keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey.

I am still making and putting up videos! I'm a teacher and we are starting school so I have been very busy since I returned! But they'll all go up eventually! 😊

Thank you for featuring the Stone Boat! My husband & I reserved our room in September during our Camino so nice to get a preview. I initially heard about the Stone Boat from World Towning & Chica and Sunsets

Would have been awesome to hear the monks sing the Vespers!

The stone boat room looked wonderful. How was massage? Scary to walk long stretches with no one around - I miss those sunflowers lol

The massage was great! Only slightly scary a few times but mostly lovely to walk alone!

😮 Where do the monks bless the rock?? Is it at the church in town? I haven’t heard of this. How beautiful!

They didn't end up doing it that night but it's at the main church in town where they sing the vespers.
