I do love how observant you are !😊You can do that with yours. I have been popping popcorn frequently, and since I don't add any oils or seasonings inside the WowPop, at this time I have chosen not to removed the glass disc at the bottom, wash, dry, and replace it each time. I am a bit of a clutz and although the glass disc is made of the borosilicate, a very durable glass, I am not inclined to risk breaking the glass when putting it in and out of the silicone flaps on the bottom of the WowPop. ( No other fingers or germs in this WowPop except mine) Thanks for your concern, cuz cleanliness is certainly very important.
