"Little sister" is not about HIS little sister, but some girls little sister. "No more living life behind the shadow," refers to her older sisters shadow. The song is referencing Elvis's song "little sister" wich is about the younger sister of his ex lover. Yes i looked this shit up, i didnt want to feel bad for loving this song as a kid.
I started listening to them about 10 years ago and this year, around the time of this comment I saw them live for the first time. Although it was at a festival, it was damn beautiful.
I love the solo, it has such a unique sound - and the metronome toc toc toc of that cow bell throughout just sets the pace perfectly. It's such an underrated song and one of my all time favourite QOTS track.
It's the josh homme guitar tone, i think it's because he's using his neck pickup with the tone turned down to a degree which rounds off the sound a whole lot and gives it this iconic sound that you can hear in QOTSA as in Kyuss.
They are. I saw them live. The entire show exuded style and artistic craftsmanship. Josh has a natural talent for visual and audio aesthetics. He doesn't need to put in much effort to create great art where other artists go years creating 1% of what he does. He basically just needs to show up and whatever decisions he makes are the right ones he just knows what's good and what's bad without trying. Comparing it to a show like Metallica, NIN or Van Halen Josh's QOTSA had a much higher density of artistic merit. There was so much to look at and appreciate compared to pretty much any other band, his dancing was on point. He was more or less impersonating Elvis which I did not see coming at all it was probably my favorite show ever.
Best guitar solo ever. I love how critical all the other instruments are without getting in the way. Its so wacky, yet memorable and fitting of the song.

“Little Sister” was released as the first single off Lullabies To Paralyze. Somewhat famous for being one of a selected few successful rock songs to incorporate the cowbell instrument (another notable song being Blue Öyster Cult’s “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper.” The song was inspired by Elvis Presley’s song of the same name. The recorded version was done in one take in the studio.
I remember when this song first came out, I mentioned to a friend that every time I heard it, I pictured Will Ferrell playing the cowbell in the video. Literally, a week later, Queens of the Stone Age was the musical guest on SNL and Will Ferrell stopped by (in costume) just to back them up. AWESOME!
Not only are the solos amazing and affectionate, but the guitar has a great rock sound, bass has a heavy muff, and the drums are fast paced, this song is perfect and not to mention that amazing chorus

One of the catchiest choruses of all time.
I miss Fuze man. That tv channel shaped my love for music still to this day. Every day I tuned in. It seemed like I discovered a new artist to get into because of the music videos I’ve seen on tv. It’ll never be like that again. And Queens was one of them. So RIP Fuse tv. And thank you for the memories.

"Little Sister"
Album: Lullabies to Paralyze
Released: 2005
Hey, sister, are you all alone?
I'm standing out your window
Hey, little sister, can I come inside you?
I want to show you all my love
I want to be the only one
I know you like nobody ever, baby
Little sister, can't you find another way?
No more living life behind a shadow
You whisper secrets in my ear
Slowly dancing cheek to cheek
Such a sweet thing when you open up, baby
They say I'll only do you wrong
Come together 'cause I understand
Just who you really are, yeah, baby
Little sister, can't you find another way?
No more living life behind a shadow
I shake up.
Songwriters: Josh Homme / Joey Castillo / Troy Dean Van Leeuwen
Can we all just stop for a second and take a moment to appreciate how cold that room must be for Joey the perennially shirtless man to be wearing not only a shirt but also a jacket.
Understanding lyrics meaning or not, it’s great music.
That guitar solo is still nutty 🔥
This one and go with the flow just hit different 🤘🏽🤘🏽🔥🔥🔥
THIS WILL NEVER GET OLD
amen!!
@@monkeymal bro that was 5 years ago...

@@GC_Ice0114 do NFS é o The Way you used to do (NFS PAYBACK), o No One Knows é no Dirt4 e se eu não me engano o Little Sister tem no Dirt2, eu não lembro.
Edit: sim tem no Dirt2.

"Sisters" and "Brothers" are terms we've forgotten...
What good are "promises" that remain unkept? Wasn't love supposed to be one such thing? Would be nice...
