    Really helpful, thanks. An idea, the top off tank can be converted into a Refugium. you can get apex top off that can then pull top off water from another container.

      Eric Garza Thanks Eric, I have thought about that but I really want to keep it all one unit without another top off tank....
      I may get annoyed refilling it though so you never know 😂

    New sub! I’ve just started my first two marine tanks. Just bought this was wondering how to use it. Many thanks!

    Very nice detailed video and congrats on a really nice system. Do you have a list of the equipment you have bought so far for this Reef system? i mean the stuff you had to purchase apart from the Red Sea Max 250. Thanks!

    Great videos. Especially as I'm looking to get the exact same tank. Where did you get that top up tank from please. Its a great fit on top 👍 thanks.

    I’m just purchased this cycling kit as well but I’m a little confused about turning my skimmer on (Red Sea 300) when there’s nothing to skim. Should I have it running from the first day of cycling or wait?
    Thanks!

      Tanesha G nope the skimmer is there to pull out waste, until you have a cycled tank and bio load and nitrate there isn’t much benefit except oxygenation... if you pull out too much waste before your tank matures you could end up with no nutrients at all and that leads to problems...

    How does the top off tank work? Do u still need to buy a ato or is there something in the tank like a toilet Siston?
    I thought I'd seen something on their site but not sure

      Yeah it’s like a ball valve attached to the top off tank. No need for an ato but that tank size will usually only last a few days....

      Anthony Byrne in this video series I had the vectra s1 I think....
      They are outstanding and practically silent with the door closed to the sump 👌

    Looking good Paul, keep going I’ll be waiting until after summer until I take the plunge again and you’re videos are temping me to go sooner 😂 what temperature sensor did you go for and what dosing system?

    • @paulukreefer5012
      @paulukreefer5012  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alistair Logan Thanks! The temperature controller is a “Simply Aquaria dual” which can also be used with a chiller. The Doser is a Kamoer X4 wireless one which also has a temperature sensor and alarm function 👍
      Go on get the tank now 😜

      Paul UK Reefer ahh so are you connecting your 2nd Heater to your doing system? Don’t you fancy getting a reef link?

    • @paulukreefer5012
      @paulukreefer5012  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alistair Logan The second heater is just manually set to 25.5c in the sump which means it should only come on as a back up if the main controlled one fails.
      I have a reeflink installed to control the lights, power heads and return pumps 👍

    would you recommend this? will it be ok for 300 litres?

    • @paulukreefer5012
      @paulukreefer5012  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually no I wouldn’t, if you are not using live rock I would seed it with dr timms one and only... or atm colony... they are far better

    • @darthcon34

      @@paulukreefer5012 i will be using some live rock from my nano system and some fresh rock with dry sand, why did you not like it. i just watched prestige reefs video and it looked a really interesting way of doing it with step by step guide. Was that not your experience?
