Nails always have focused on not just making musically valid noise, but having something to actually say aswell first. This song makes me feel proud of my choice to go against the grain and the pathetic and abusive systems that people are sucked into by what is romanticised in the mainstream. They might try to experiment with being original and down to earth, but unless they devote themselves just like we, they will truly never ever be one of us. Wow. Powerful stuff. Just as powerful as the sound behind it. True fucking lyricism.
+TE August the mix on this is pretty different from there last albums but if you wanna hear another song that goes just as hard listen to "abandon all life" from them

“You Will Never Be One Of Us” is about the pain and the pride that goes into being involved in hardcore/punk/metal unconditionally...being a lifer. It's a knife to the throat of the people who come and liter their bullshit and impose on everyone for their own selfish agenda. It's for everyone who dedicates themselves to their craft...their music...their passion...whatever the fuck it is, and seeing someone come along and attach themselves to what you do/love and abuse it, with no regard or respect for it. This song is not for NAILS, but for all of US." Jacob Bannon
Their whole sound is a cheap copy of Nasum. Except Nasum never made corny, cheesy, narcissistic songs titled "You Will Never Be One Of Us", they were humble. Only kids who don't know about the DIY hardcore and grindcore scene are into this, because most of them don't even know who Nasum is or was.

Jet-Engine Metal is fucking perfect. Eddie Cardwell is right though, too.
