Even a band like Hatebreed were playing smaller venues ( late 90s ) yet they were on Victory Records and one of the most popular bands in the scene back then. Same thing for Integrity and Converge. I know because I was there.
@@Justin88800 I think HC was very popular at the end of the 90s. I mean Sick Of It All's "Scratch The Surface" was released on East West Records and went on to sell 250.000 copies. Hatebreeds "Perseverance" got into the Billboard 200 at position 50. Compare that to Turmoil who I saw in Berlin in the early 2000s playing in front of 50 people. When I lived in PA in 2002/2003 quite a few people in the hardcore scene where like "Turmoil... who?"
