I am a long-time Sherlock Holmes fan. This movie is good. Very jocular and well over-acted. I'd say it's in the Humorous/Mystery genre'... Guess which school I attended when I discovered Ian Fleming's ace detective? "Elementary, my dear Watson... Ell-uh-men-tree!" (I made that up, sorry!)
