Cannot have enough listening to Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. I’m sure our G-d knows why he was taken away from us so soon. May his memory be a blessing to humanity.
The all powerful god can't create a universe that doesn't obey physical laws? Why doesn't he create laws that don't include earthquakes? Why not make the world that ought to be in the first place? If you will answer by saying because without evil you cannot have good, then I can say, that is how god created it, and if he wanted he could create it differently. And if god has a larger plan that we cannot conceive because we cannot conceive the mind of god, then why even try?
Asking why God didn't create a physical universe with beings with free will yet without human effort required to prevent or mitigate unjust suffering is a nonsense question. It is sort of like asking, why isn't "yes", "no". A more profound question was asked by Dostoevsky, is the benefit of creating a physical, free will universe worth the unjust suffering of a single child?
"The all powerful god can't create a universe that doesn't obey physical laws?" from what i read, it was man that dropped the wrench in the works. God just hasnt left us to fend for ourselves where our ancestors have turned everything on its head.
universal life and universal law are one. the law of your being, your life, is that you were created in the image of God, the creative power that brought you into existence, because you are God's very self specialized. The law of your life is that your mind is the individualization of the universal mind in the state of self evolution in which your mind attains the capacity to reason from the seen to the unseen, and thus penetrating the veil of outward appearance. so because of the reproduction of the divine creative faculty in yourself, your mental states, or modes of thought, are bound to externalize themselves in your body and in your circumstances.
If god is omnipotent, couldn’t he create a universe without natural evil? It’s weird to think of god as a being that has to follow the laws of physics.
Is religion a philosophy or is it a fact- that is how and why things actually happen? I would say neither. Religion is rather a way of life. Philosophy and facts are not a way of life, just stuff you think about or, as in the case of science and technology, ways of manipulating the material world. First of all one has to define what is good or bad, or what is good or evil, all of which is subjective. Religion does this in a more profound way than philosophy or science, and then tell you what to do about it. Does religion then need to "prove" the existence of a higher power? Science and philosophy does proofs, but religion just is, like breathing just is, or the sky just is. Why do I breathe, why does the sky exist. It just does.
I love his work and I love the Bible but it's not for me is it? I am a gentile. The God of the Bible has no interest in Gentiles, in fact, at best we are slaves to theJews in the Bible, fodder for the Jews. And it makes me upset.

I love this Judaism G-d’s call to responsibility and that faith is protest against the evil in this world 👍🏻
2:50 The answer to, "Why does evil exist?" is not a philosophical statement, it is an action, a good deed!
an epic teacher.
He nailed it again.
Amazing
Genious wisdom in action. Meet soon. 🙏🙏

Well said.

Thinking of an old world. Times have changed...the quantum age is upon us. A lovely man though.

Judaism doesn't ask you to "conceive the mind of God", just to approach him and walk with him to create a good world.
