How we can face the future without fear, together | Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks

  • It's a fateful moment in history. We've seen divisive elections, divided societies and the growth of extremism -- all fueled by anxiety and uncertainty. "Is there something we can do, each of us, to be able to face the future without fear?" asks Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. In this electrifying talk, the spiritual leader gives us three specific ways we can move from the politics of "me" to the politics of "all of us, together."

Exactly. Such a brilliant and articulate mind and what a sharp sense of humor and elegance.
I had the privilege to listen to one of his presentations in person... I was truly sad when he passed away. The world needs more wise and clearly above the average role models like him. Such an intellectual, spiritual and value oriented light in the dark of a very material and ego oriented world. Everyone should listen to the incredible speech King Charles of England (Prince Charles back then) gave on the day on his passing. Truly magnificent. Available on TH-cam🙏☀️

Thank you Rabbi, God bless you, rest in peace.

I just want to say, I'm a Muslim and I love this talk. I want to say it because although, in the West, we have people from all walks of life, we don't know each other. We are a lot more together than we realise but we do need to talk to our neighbours more. I loved this talk not because of the rhetoric (lovely rhetoric) but because a person stood up for "us" and a better future.

My father z"l fully took on this mindset. He would constantly get into arguments (usually political) with people who disagreed with him but it would never stop him from being their friend and being positive and joyful when greeting them. He loved those people even more than those who agreed with him because arguing with them was his "exercise" as he called it. And he so believed in telling our stories. I know all about my ancestors and my people because my dad told stories over and over again. Having a family story is one of the things that holds a family together, and even more so holds a people together.
May the neshama of Rabbi Sacks z"l and my father z"l have an aliyah.

Yes, we live in what appears to be trying times throughout the 🌍. And, I agree we spend excessive hours worshiping the "I" and the "we", which is unfortunate. It is unfortunate because we miss out on connecting with others, who are not like "us". Thanks for recommending the importance of holding out our hands to others that are not like us; it is a great way to close the huge gap of polarization.
Let's get back to "we the people". 👏
