A really big thing I’ve seen in every scene that features Mo horseback is that he is the only character that rides a finished bridlehorse. He he rides it correctly and is obviously very accomplished riding a horse with that high level of training. It’s a very specific style of western riding. And he is the only one who does it.

That’s a great observation, I’m going to have to go back and watch. Thanks for sharing!

Diamond wool saddle pads are best for actual working cowboys.. 100% wool come in different thicknesses &only run about $50 apiece which is huge when you may have 1 saddle to use on a whole remuda but need the pads to build when you ride different horse

Not as sharp as you when it comes to brands and styles, but I pay attention to detail. Have you ever noticed that Trampas on the Virginian and Jess on Laramie, have rubber on their saddle horns? Fun to watch. I love good tack also.

When John is mounting his horse you can see he doesn't have his rains in his hands, so he's never ridin' a horse that is not well trained to stay in place.

You don't wear a breast collar when going through brush

You don't need a breast collar anyway

So you've never had a saddle slide off a bit to one side on you? How about it sliding back on a horse? Having no breast collar is one of the fastest ways to lose your seat in the saddle once it starts to slip. You haven't got a prayer staying on if your saddle becomes half jacked off to one side when a horse panics, bolts and/or crowhops. Just cinching up tighter is not the answer, cuz there is a sweet spot to find when cinching up a horse......they have to inhale and exhale around that cinch. And some horses are chubby and/or with little withers so it's like cinching up a tomato. The breast collar's purpose is to stabilize the saddle on the horse. And also, sometimes horses need them specifically for the job they are doing.
