I was going to recommend that but you got here first. Unbelievable energy. Alvin was a reluctant rock star, hating the limelight but deserving it nonetheless.
My gosh u ain't just a whistling Dixie about the guitar riffs man! I have to say THANK YOU SALVO for this one. Never heard this b4 but am familiar with the artists. This is dynamic & will b a play list masterpiece for me. It's up there with Free Bird IMHO. Just WOW ‼️ LUV it. Have a great wknd😊👍🏼👍🏼
George Harrison on slide guitar is probably the best slide solo of all time and then Alvin Lee second lead on guitar is masterful. 2 of the greatest guitar players of all time. RIP my fellow guitar players!
Well, I’d have to put in a plug for Jimmy Page’s slide solo on In Ny Time of Dying and some of David Gilmour’s slide work, but no question this is superb.
5:32 I love this song. You should listen to another friend of George's, Gary Moore, a great blues guitarist was notably with Thin Lizzy. The song is Still Got The Blues.
Masterpiece from the master. There was non more respected from those who know how to play. A lovely man. Session guitarist for the very best R.I.P Mate Thank you for what you gave the music world❤
The original guitar wizard. He played with such speed and precision, without all the tricks the shredders use, and his mastery of the instrument was incredible. On top of that he had a feel for rock and blues like no other.
Thanks for the reaction!! One of my favorite guitar players and this song is awesome. But so is "Slow Blues in C" and "I Can't Keep from Crying Sometimes".
I confess that I haven't heard much of Alvin Lee's solo stuff. I mostly know him from his stint with 10 Years After. As others have mentioned, his performance of "Goin' Home" at Woodstock is absolute FIRE!
During the 70's and 80's I attended a lot of concerts, almost all of the big groups. Alvin Lee and Ten Years After was one of the best Blues/Rock bands ever. It was a tough time for bands when you look at the competition during the 70's, and not everyone can continue writing big hits.
I was in my early twenties when Ten Years After appeared on the scene. Although Clapton, Beck, and Page got all the attention, I always thought Alvin Lee was as good as any of 'em. And I believe he was the first shredder. I saw TYA at the Rose Palace in Pasadena with The Moody Blues and Spirit, all for $5. OMG, those were the days.
Well, for SURE in this particular solo, I would say he’s every bit as good as the triumvirate you mentioned. None of the three could have done it any better for sheer emotive power, IMO. I would LOVE to hear what David Gilmour would have done with it in his heyday.
Depeche Mode got three times the views and five times the 👍’s. Love DM but it’s a crying shame that this is so little known. Lee criminally underrated as guitarist, imo.
I'd like to hear your take on a hidden sleeper from the 60s: “Farewell Song” on the album “Live at Winterland ‘68” by Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin.
10 Years After!!! Check out “I’m goin’home” from Woodstock.
It will blow your mind! And George? OMG. Never heard this.
I’m here for it!!
I'm Going Home by Ten Years After at Woodstock was pure rock & roll history!
I was going to recommend that but you got here first. Unbelievable energy. Alvin was a reluctant rock star, hating the limelight but deserving it nonetheless.
The slide solo is George and then Alvin takes the second solo, an absolute stunner.
I love clicking on an artist unknown to me and finding a great song. Love this!

Excellent! I can’t believe that Ive never heard this before 🙈
He was a great guitarist and singer, popular doesn't mean good. Musicians understand.

My favorite Alvin Lee!
The original guitar wizard. He played with such speed and precision, without all the tricks the shredders use, and his mastery of the instrument was incredible. On top of that he had a feel for rock and blues like no other.
A new artist for me. Really enjoyed this, esp. George’s guitar.
I’m SO glad you liked this Sal! Hopefully, it’s scratched your “blues itch”! 😁✌️
10 years after recorded live is fantastic.
Thanks for the reaction!! One of my favorite guitar players and this song is awesome. But so is "Slow Blues in C" and "I Can't Keep from Crying Sometimes".
Thanks for ideas….I’ll check them out. This is the only Alvin Lee solo career song I know….
Utterly stunning blues guitar solo……among the very best I’ve ever heard.
Slow Blues in C is one of my all time favorite from Alvin Lee.
I confess that I haven't heard much of Alvin Lee's solo stuff. I mostly know him from his stint with 10 Years After. As others have mentioned, his performance of "Goin' Home" at Woodstock is absolute FIRE!
You need to check his set in the Woodstock movie. One of the highlights imo.
"I'm Going Home...By Helicopter" Ten Years After - at Woodstock
I loved watching you pantomiming driving and smoking a cig (or other substance) while listening to that solo! Perfect! 😁
Alvin Lee used to play for Ten years after.
One of my favourite songs of all time. We covered this one years ago and still get calls to play it again these days.
You must be one helluva great guitar player then!!!
If you like Alvin Lee, when check him out in the band Ten Years After. Song called I’d Love to Change the World.
This is new to me, but Alvin Lee was at one time was considered one of the fastest guitar players.
Damn this song is good!

Wow…what a cool line-up!

Akvin !!!! Maestro !!! Descansa en Paz !!!
Watch Ten Years After at Woodstock. Amazing.
I swear I've never heard of Alvin, so I'm going crazy trying to figure out why his voice sounds so Familiar!?!?!
From 10 Years After
He was with Ten Years After and was one of the best performers at Woodstock i'm going home
You should watch Help Me Baby live by Alvin Lee and Ten Years After. His bass player was great too.
Great guitarist, Ten Years After you should check out too. He was a great blues artist.
Depeche Mode got three times the views and five times the 👍’s. Love DM but it’s a crying shame that this is so little known. Lee criminally underrated as guitarist, imo.

You can’t say shredding without saying Alvin Lee.
I wanted to make sure it was Alvin Lee. Perhaps the best. There are other Lee guitarists but for me Alvin is the best
Awesome video. Can you please react to the avett Brothers road full of doubt.

That Wikipedia description is woefully inadequate.
