I almost did. The only thing I got wrong? I predicted Georgia to be the 5th-6th best 3rd-placed team. Czechia 2024 is a shadow of their 2021 selves, even pre-tournament, so I’m not surprised.

If anyone predicted these group stages 100% correct, I’d be very surprised. As expected, quite a few shocks.
I was close. I got 20/24. Put Georgia as 4th and Czech Republic as 3rd (it was the other way around) and also put Albania 3rd and Croatia 4th (Again it was the other way around).

@@TiagoSilvaESC Yes, my order was Romania Belgium Slovakia Ukraine. I am from Romania so I kinda wanted this to happen, it was easier to predict a favorable result "for me" because it was kinda biased towards Romania first place. I mean Ukraine barely qualified as a third place team and barely won against Iceland and Bosnia with a late lucky goal. Mudryk is also a meme at Chelsea, never believed in them to be honest, they had talent on paper but looked shaky at best.
Austria are the best examples of the dark horses.

Romania needs to be extremely lucky to win this EURO, because it was a long time since we did not advance trough the round of 16, but if we manage to beat the Netherlands, then I'm pretty sure we can reach the Semis!

I’m glad I tipped Romania to make it through. I saw so many people writing them off, which really surprised me after how solid their qualification campaign was
For my Italian side, we are not convincing, and I don’t know how well we will do.
For my Romanian side, I was not expecting this. Even if we fail in the rounds of 16 I’m still so proud of them. Do your best Romania!!!!

Me being Dutch, I always agreed with your predictions, I did not have a lot of hope for my country, and well, it came true. But now, I cannot wait to see your reaction on the possible, ridiculous Houdini escape route for The Netherlands to reach the final 😂
Think alot of Dutch people get too cocky when winning once, when the reality is that our team is pretty horrible, esp apparent in the Austria games. Always agree with Izak's bluntness w the Dutch and their level of play.

Not one of the most difficult groups, Austria topped honestly THE most difficult group, quite nice.
but yeah poland finishing last was no surprise, they barely got past Wales and didn't have a single shot on target, it was showing in that playoff final.
we can blame it on Santos, he had no clue what he was doing with our team😭
Honestly what's more upsetting about it, is that they looked to have had some wakeup call in Friendlies afterwards. My expectations for them were that they'd play as meh as Denmark did. But they could've outright won some of the matches with a bit more luck.

Actually Serbia's defense played pretty well this tournament it was the midfield and attack that didn't achieve.
At the 2022 World Cup our attack and maybe the midfield played well but the defence costed us and we got grouped, while at Euro 2024 like you said our defence played well but our midfield and attack costed us and we got grouped, the point that I am trying to say is if our defence, midfield and attack played well together, we would've had qualify for Round of 16 in 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024

To be fair I didn't even think that Austria would top Group D, Georgia would beat Portugal, Croatia got eliminated early and that all teams in Group E had the same amount of points at the end but here's a fun fact: the same thing happened in 1994 World Cup in Group E where Mexico, Ireland, Italy and Norway also got 4 points and had the same goal difference which was 0. However, Norway got eliminated as they scored the least amount of goals out of all 4 teams

I think you made a good prediction, group E was absolute madness with all teams with 4 points. I have never seen something like that before, and predicting the results of the team you support is always very difficult too much emotion involved. As seen in the comments most of the people have the same difficulty including me.

Austria and Switzerland could absolutely be the dark horses of this tournament. Switzerland beat France at the last Euros and topped the same qualifying group for the World Cup that Italy was in, which is what sent the latter to the play-off game against North Macedonia where they ultimately met their doom. And the way Austria's played has been phenomenal, so I wouldn't rule them out either. I have yet to see countries like Belgium, France, England, or Denmark play a game like they actually want to win this tournament. I'd rather it go to a country that knows what it means.

You had better prediction than mine. I got only one group completely correct - group A. In total, I predicted 10 out of 16 nations correct for progressing to the round of 16 and 0 correct for 3rd place teams progressing to the next stage. Hope I do a better job in KO stages.

I made my full predictions 2 months before the tournament started and I got 24/36 match outcomes correct including 7 scores correct in matchday 2 alone. Had 3 outcomes wrong on matchday 1 and 2 and then 6 on matchday 3 but that's to be expected because the ripple effect of getting any wrong before the final matchday, groups looking different and whatnot. I'd say that's very good, although I only had 13/24 group positions correct (womp womp)

As a Slovenian myself I was so mad that Georgia won that game as we now face Portugal on the harder side of the bracket instead of Romania on the easy side

Man, I'm Turkish, but I'm really sorry for the Czech Republic. It was Georgia's right to be eliminated from this group. They were playing the weakest football. You were going to come in third place, but Portugal spoiled the game because they sold the match. It's literally impossible for Georgia to win 2-0. No matter what, we had a preparation match in Gaziantep last year for Euro 2008 and 2016. I still wonder whether the tree could have been composed in a way that two group members can't meet in the 1/4 finals again, like with the Netherlands and Austria if both progress to the next round of course. Yeah, I get the pattern of 1st vs. 3rd, 1st vs. 2nd, 1st vs. 3rd and 2nd vs. 2nd on both sides of the tree but still I'd much rather preferred a tree where up to the semis former group members can't meat up again.

Let’s be honest the 8 minutes of extra time were completely warranted.
There were 10 subs in that game, a VR check, a penalty and a goal.
So 13 instances of the game being interrupted and after the goal Croatia took its sweet time too to slow the game’s pace and lock in the result.

As the winners of group E, I can proudly say we've dominated, we were dominated but the Little Entente (Junior, I guess) won again. Shout-out to Slovakia, they deserved the second place but the Ukrainians played a bit better and the overall results of our group were too balanced.

In group E nobody really dominated the group (in the proper sense of the word), since every team had 4 points. But since Romania was first at the every end of its match days, I can say what I want. And by mentioning only the tie and the loss, and ignoring the win that placed us so you're just jealous... just saying.

Hey guy! I'm the last person who'll defend the Czechs, but did you even watch that last Czechia-Turkey game? They were clearly robbed of a winning goal, going down to 10 men for most of the game and they still put up an impressive display. Regardless, finishing last with only 2 points out of this group is in no way reflective of their performances. Just saying. You may have predicted the group correctly but for the wrong reasons.

There are a lot of young promising players in cro leauge, or already in bigger clubs; Lovro Zvonarek ( Bayern M), Luka Vušković ( Tottenham), but for them is still too early to tell how good they will be. And usually some player show up when you didn't expect them. Cro will simply always have players, but of course, can have a few years of crisis, like many other ( bigger) countries.
Greoup E: I predicted Slovakia would not finish last. I am biased I admit as I am from Slovakia originally. They are always expected to finish last in every group at every torunament they have ever qualified for and they have never finished last. Not in 2010, not in 2016, not in 2021 and not now.
