Popeye is able to turn Saitama into eggs because just by punching, he can turn a giant fish into guppies, a anchor into fishhooks and a group of Native Americans into...a bunch of nickels. Yeah, it wasnt the most sensitive of times.

@19:20 - Us "old schoolers" appreciate that Saitama landed across the street, in front of Wimpy's Burgers. A long-time friend of Popeye, Wimpy (full name; J. Wellington Wimpy) became famous for his catchphrase, "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today." Can we take a moment to appreciate that their punches were so hard that they were breaching into different dimensions? Not as a strategy or tactic for the purpose of gaining some kind of advantage, but as a mere side-effect of the battle. And for another moment to commemorate how *durable* Bluto must be to survive decades of Popeye's spinach-fueled fists. Two words: 'Toon Force. As Roger Rabbit explained it to Detective Eddie Valiant, a 'toon can do literally *anything* as long as it's funny. (Who Framed Roger Rabbit movie) I don't even think Judge Doom's infamous Dip could permanently get rid of Popeye because, as we've seen in Roger's movie, a 'toon taking a Dip still has remains...A few wispy tendrils of color, even after being dissolved, float upon the surface. Popeye has come back from *worse* than that.
> toon can do literally anything as long as it's funny So the only thing that can defeat a toon is one which is SO boring, nothing cannot be funny with him. A being that controls the laws of emotions.
I had to look up the cartoon with the Native American's to find out what Popeye punched them into, and it was buffalo/Indian nickels. If you think that's in poor taste, at the end of the cartoon, he gets confronted by the big Native American Chief, and Popeye's punch transforms him into Mahatma Gandhi.
Idk how into OPM you guys are but the part where his strength stopped growing is confirmed to be just because he can't find anyone to push him further. If he had either emotional motivation for it or a strong enough oponent, he could just grow stronger... let's hope for the sake of the laws of physics he never finds either, let alone both at once.
@@Ambridge- At no point in my comment I said or even implied he could beat Popeye given enough power up. Don't bring Twitter logic to the comment section, please.
I’m glad to see you guys react to the best death battle that has been made in years. The fight was awesome especially when it was switching to 2D and 3D.
There's so many different fights where you pull characters out of their series way too early or they haven't reached anything close to their Peak, which makes the fight a little bit disappointing and Saitama is no exception, because I just got done reading the manga for some of the newest stuff he had and it was one of my mind blowing things ever seen. I'm not saying he would have beat Popeye but it would have been a much cooler fight!
I knew it from the get go. Cause he had a black step daddy....period 😅😅😅. My Cereal kid profile ( don't laugh ... My mom did let us eat to many different kinds) Frost fakes, raisin Bran, Captain crunch peanut butter, and Golden Bear.
Just to catch you guys up to speed on this (prolly no one will read it but still), it's quite apparent now, that they made this fight happen far too early. Like they did it just before the craziness with Cosmic Garou started happening, which took the entire OPM verse and Saitama into completely different levels of hax and power. Foooorr example, Saitama and Garou ended up erasing what seemed like an endless number of stars/galaxies with just the force of their clashing punches. And arguably, it only didn't destroy everything because Blast and his team had redirected it in a direction rather than allowing it to go anywhere. After this, they went flying at MFTL+ and landed on IO, one of Jupiter's moons. There, they had an epic fight, which seemed kinda equal until it wasn't. We learned that Saitama can just say "nope" to the laws of physics, as he can literally grab hyperspace portals, which are technically not physical things, he can kick them, he can breathe in space and doesn't react to toxic gases or radiation of any kind. Moreover, when he gets serious, he can literally be in several places at once just like Popeye and is able to copy virtually any technique. Not just that, but he's also able grow infinitely and exponentially in power, until an opponent who can literally copy powers can no longer keep up. When he became so powerful, a single sneeze from him had destroyed Jupiter. He grew hundreds, up to thousands or even millions of times more powerful than when their clashing punches had destroyed a fair portion of the universe, or at least a galaxy. So yeah, easily multiversal in terms of strength, and he can just grow however quick he wants to. Not to mention his own punches weren't able to hurt him, at least ounches that were replicating his power. Which means, it's entirely reasonable to believe that he's just immune to damage and based on other things, he can also simply say no to hax powers/higher dimensional abilities. At the end of their fight, Saitama learns time travel by just copying Garou's subatomic particles, sub consciously. Also since then, another villain called Void showed up and his abilities are extra dimensional and mutliversal, as well as being able to manipulate/destroy dimensions, some energies in the universe and so on. Void is 100% not as powerful as Saitama, definitely not near as powerful as Saitama is gonna be by the final arc. So it's entirely fair to believe, that Saitama will turn out being more powerful than Popeye imo. The Manga's author has specifically stated, that Saitama will be more powerful than some fan drawn comics, in which Saitama transcends omniverses, multiple layers of reality, and what not. Popeye's toonforce is at best 6D-8D. That's roughly where proper toonforce characters rank. However, Saitama will likely transcend all dimensions and all laws of reality, to the point that he's a dream on top of a dream on top of dream away from "normal" reality. Deathbattle seem to think somehow that once you have toonforce, you're invincible. It's not true at all. There are more levels to it and there are often non-toon-force characters who could interact with the audience or their author/medium if they wished so, they simply choose not to/the writers think it's silly. Anything at like 5D-6D can technically do this, so it's not that uncommon. Popeye's universe also had no baseline established. How big is the cosmology? Seems to be implied that his universe should probably be similar to ours. How powerful is his God? Clearly universal, but is that the best he can do? All of these questions would need to be answered to get a more accurate representation of where Popeye is. Of course, with the limited info they had back then, it's entirely justified that they chose it wasn't worth it to calculate these things for Popeye. There was no feasible way for Saitama to win, seemingly. But I knew this would happen when this DB dropped. The fact that only 2 years on, we already have good arguments for Saitama shows how premature this matchup was. I think after we've seen Saitama's true form, there should be a rematch of this, 100%. Because Saitama will win that one and this one was just for funsies, I'm almost certain. In fact, Saitama may get a new match with a more powerful character than Popeye by that time, as he'll probably be far too out of Popeye's league.
You know, the more I see this, the more I realize that I think one punchman would actually like popeye it because now he found a person who can withstand his punches, which means he can get stronger! 😊
Funny they did thia fight before Cosmic Garou fight happen3d which revaled Saitama isnt as stagnant like he thought. In fact hes apparently been growing but no one was on his level to notice his growth and the Cosmic Garou fight he grew exponentially due to being pissed and got so strong he could sneeze jupiter and manipulate his body on an atomic level. Also he can copy fighting styles just like Garou could not with not only pure speed and power but legitimately. However, I do think the fight woupd have went the same result since its still a fight betweeen a guy who can do almost anything vs a guy who can do anything. He mjght have had a better chance if hypothetically Saitama could copy Popeyes toon force but saitama doesnt learn some techniques like the time travel until he was told he had this copying abiltiy and taught it even if he didnt understand. Though he us still OP and way stronger than we thought as he can access higher dimensions by getting stronger(didnt see or notice God at first but did later in the fight he could hear God clearly), enter spiritual spaces physically and touch hyperspace gates. Also he can tank star level and even greater power attacks with no damage. The only thing to get him to even bleed a little so far was his own power(Cosmic Garou) bjt this doents happen ever again in the fight and the damage was just a scratch
Saitama was just shown to be able to copy techniques, not something as Wacky as toonforce itself. But yea people think just because Saitama lost to Popeye makes him weak. He's still powerful.
The difference is rather simple. Saitama is OP, Popeye is broken. At least in this context. What I think would be an interesting match is Saitama vs Goku
@@aienma6660 There are levels to this. Its not just that he destroyed stars entire systems were gone and created a void. Not only that both Garou and Saitama were in the middle of the energy and both didn't take any damage and not to mention Saitama wasn't even winded once during the fight or after that feat. Really shows how much stamina he's got and durability beyond him tanking a gamma ray burst
Still doesn’t beet toon force really warping and illogical inmortality. Even if he sneezed a planet kicked a wormhole or punched hard enough to go back in time. He’s getting there though.
@@chaosspear0195 from what Garou said and how his powers work he's definitely going to become more broken than he already is. Though yeah hard to beat toon force that can do anything.
@@chaosspear0195 they're different. It should not be confused with Reality Warping, which can affect reality in more serious ways. Toon Force is an ability that refers to characters manipulating reality or bypassing physical laws of nature in order to achieve impossible feats FOR COMEDIC EFFECTS. They Have Weaknesses As Well.
Toon Force is such a bonkers ability. I love it so much, Saitama loses because it's funny and that is absolutely hilarious lmao. Maybe he should've eaten more spinach
My only nitpick is they only used Saitama feat’s from the show while using Popeyes show and comic strips, Saitama has more feet’s in the manga now, straight up admitted he’s a cosmic being, Garou copied Saitama and Saitama doubled in power, they said no matter how powerful someone is Saitama always surpasses it, his strength will always climb above his opponents. Now the toon force is just something completely different. Just saying this Saitama they used isn’t the current Saitama
That's because that Saitama didn't exist when they made this video. If you'll notice throughout the analysis they (far, far more than Popeye) consistently used feats and statements from both the manga and the original webcomic. Saitama VS Garou started in the manga about two weeks after this episode aired, and the manga fight is far, far more cosmic than the webcomic version. Trust me, if the manga's events had come out even a few days before the episode aired, they would have delayed the video. They've done it multiple times before.
@@mel-el5862 Almost certainly, yes, but the episode would have framed its conclusion very differently, at least for the first half with the argument of limits, bodybuilders and dumbells, and current maximum potential.
Saitama is strong but him beating super was bad research Saitama full power was revealed spoil alert but he not even as strong a Majin buu from dbz goku from super slap him, ichigo slap him, good fight for Saitama be maybe she hulk maybe
The fight did happen before the Cosmic garou chapters came out the same way the tatusmaki vs Mob fight came out before her manga feats came out. Though even then the outcome probably wouldn't change much beyond his copying abiltiy and him getting stronger because Popeye can do just about anything
95% of fiction gets beat by Popeye, no one beats toon force, not even the writers of the story. And Saitama has the potential to be one of the strongest characters in anime as long as he fights someone strong enough.
@@ΤΟΣΠΟΥΔΑΙΟ Aum.. And you need to actually get past your surface level of interpretation. Read his post again. And what do you know about my ego?? Let's hear it.. Oh that's right, nothing.
Not really in fact they were generous with what they were given form Saitama especially they didn't mention his webcimic "weakness" was that anyone with martial arts skills and strong enough could counter his punches or the cat scratching thing or Boros "he took damage" line from the manga. Of course this was before Saitama vs garou fight also. The problem is Popeye is toon force so he can do anything while Saitama can almost do anything but still has some limitations at least not pertaining to strength and more he still follows some logic of his world. He can't change matter on a whim(probably not now we'll see when he faces God as garou states he can copy God's powers without taking his hand) like Popeye can or fight his creator One literally
@@isaiahgarraway5568 you made that up. Saitma was never "weak" to martial arts users in the webcomic. Garou was in the webcomic before he was in anything else. Garou got clapped. easily. and in no version of the fight with Boros did Saitama ever "take damage". maybe the manga artist-guy had Boros SAY "he took damage" just to make the audience stir for a second but I don't even remember that, tbh. the cat-scratch thing is honestly the best thing anyone has on him. toon force is not infinite power, and I kind of hate all of you that think that way. you're child-like idiots. It very much has it's limitations the same as anything else. one time he knocked a 7th dimensional being on it's ass. didn't kill it, just knocked it down. and MY whole point, is how do WE know that the beings from the 7th dimension aren't just weak little bitches, that scale WELL under his *every* other mountain-level-or-lower feats? literally the only thing he does that could even POSSIBLY scale above it is the transmogrification punch, and, let me ask you, did he transform the 7th dimensional being into anything? or his creator? or does that particular skill only work on the weak little sub-beings in his own mini-verse? like I'm sorry man. Popeye is just a weak lil weakling. and you and DB both look like clowns, coming out and simping for characters like Popeye, Superman, and Spongebob like you do...... Like, in your heads, all these lil kiddy-toons are GOD-like beings of infinite power and durability, and they LAUGH off fully-powered super saiyan planet-busting Kamehamehas like they just tickle. and that's a neat little, shitty, kid world you live in. but I won't live in it with you. because my brain works and I'm not 5.

Popeye still wins with no difficulty
Which Question are you referring to?
3D animated popeye goes hard
Scarlet Witch is Popeye daughter 😅
Toon Force is such a bonkers ability. I love it so much, Saitama loses because it's funny and that is absolutely hilarious lmao.
Maybe he should've eaten more spinach
Anime Logic vs Toon Force will always favor the latter, bcs Toon Force was never restrained by logic to begin with
My only nitpick is they only used Saitama feat’s from the show while using Popeyes show and comic strips, Saitama has more feet’s in the manga now, straight up admitted he’s a cosmic being, Garou copied Saitama and Saitama doubled in power, they said no matter how powerful someone is Saitama always surpasses it, his strength will always climb above his opponents.
@@LittleZbot oh damn appreciate it broski

@@LittleZbotsaitama still would have lost.
@@mel-el5862 Almost certainly, yes, but the episode would have framed its conclusion very differently, at least for the first half with the argument of limits, bodybuilders and dumbells, and current maximum potential.
Never Fight A Cartoon Character.
Lmao fact’s especially popeye the epitome of took force
Saitama is also a cartoon character. Lol
@@christianrapper Be careful not to make this statement in front of an Otaku who gets triggered 😂
Hm, Luffy vs Popeye, maybe?
Popeye destroys
yeah popeye is millions of times stronger
Still Popeye, huh?
@@johanstenfelt1206 yeah, popeye vs spongebob is probably the closest match we could have
@@stratastar hm, probably.
Saitama is strong but him beating super was bad research Saitama full power was revealed spoil alert but he not even as strong a Majin buu from dbz goku from super slap him, ichigo slap him, good fight for Saitama be maybe she hulk maybe
Popeye Vs Gear 5 Luffy Vs The Mask
The Mask needs a host and Luffy still adheres to the laws of physics pretty much. Popeye pretty easily.
This saitama before the current and they lied on saitama name 😂
The fight did happen before the Cosmic garou chapters came out the same way the tatusmaki vs Mob fight came out before her manga feats came out. Though even then the outcome probably wouldn't change much beyond his copying abiltiy and him getting stronger because Popeye can do just about anything
Even if it was caught up at the time popeye is still winning with 0 difficult
Favorite red heads DC comics Barbara Gordon Marvel comics
Tigra
ever wonder why popeye is *jacked* hes on the roids *drawn together* no way will this *new genaration* handle the show from the 2000s

I was ssoooo glad popoeyes beat saitamas ass. Saitamas so thrash.
95% of fiction gets beat by Popeye, no one beats toon force, not even the writers of the story. And Saitama has the potential to be one of the strongest characters in anime as long as he fights someone strong enough.

Nope, it’s because he’s popeye the saiiiilorrr man
Litteraly the first two videos they ever made had american characters loose. Stop complaining about problems you made up.
definitive proof that DB HATES anime.
