Nice! Alternatively I think I'll smudge the dark first, rinse, air-dry, then cover my hair completely with my brights conditioner mix. Seems easier for me plus I'll get some lowlight overlay on the smudged areas

Using a conditioner (and I used a thick mask) on the fashion color parts to prevent bleed DID NOT work for me either, my pink peach yellow ombre is now a much duller version. I suspect NOT wetting the hair first would've been the better choice because water helps spread the root color too much. I know that from my years of demi-coloring my greys myself for decades. IDK why I wetted my hair first. Oh well. Next time.

You SHOULDNT have combed that dark root through your light hair UNLESS it was on the same spectrum....IE dark pink, magenta, etc root #haircolor 101 😉
