    I have a question , there are subjects like THERMODYNAMICS , MATERIAL SCIENCE , Dynamics , these subjects are very hard to get a grip on properly. How much of the knowledge is really needed in the industry ?

    • @phamhoangphuc4236
      @phamhoangphuc4236 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      All of it, but the more basic the subjects is, the more chance its will appear on the interview ( because the questions are usually basic terms and definition ) however, its more likely to be depend on which field you're taking the interview. Cars company would ask about strength of materials, engine principle, about car ... HVAC company would ask some like basic wiring diagram, basic refrigeration cycle, knowledge about heat exchanger, chiller ...
      As you can see, its depend on which path you choose to be, if you had choose a path, the knowledge would be lessen and you don't have to grip on so much information. Hope this answer help (based on my personal experience as one who already had 3 interviews with different companies lol)

    • @alexisidro
      @alexisidro 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      When it comes to industry, you'll learn the subjects you need based on the job you have, and honestly, you don't need everything. You don't need to know it all, and you're not expected to know it all. The subjects you really need to understand will keep popping up in problems you deal with, and so the more you practice, the better you'll become at them anyway.
      Don't overwhelm yourself thinking you have to know and remember every single detail and every subject you take in university.

    Howdy! I'm only in high school but I aspire to be a mechanical engineer. I am trying to learn as much as I can to be prepared to go into this field. I'm want to land a job working for Sandia National Laboratories, as a mechanical engineer of course.
    I wanted to ask, what should I prepare for? What should I do early on to help prepare me for a career in mechanical engineering? Thank you in advance. Not many people to answer this question.

    So i am confused with how the "tell me about yourself approach" here vs with other people's videos. I understand each coach has a different style. Here its answered straight to the point of what your selling points are, but hint very little about what got you into engineering, what was the passion, the drive, the moment it turned for you. What was your reason for going this route?

    • @CareerVidz
      @CareerVidz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. My answers are a guide and you can add whatever you want to them. I have over 20 years of experience in recruitment and many, many people on my channel pass their interviews every day, which is great news!
      If you want to go a little deeper and say why you got into engineering, feel free to do so. The reason why I don't go into those details is that the question hasn't asked you to do.
      If the question was, what has attracted you to engineering, or why do you want this job, then I would delve into the things that attracted me to engineering.
      The interviewer is interviewing lots of candidates and their time is precious. Therefore, I always teach people to give the interviewer what they want... i.e. answer the question.
      I have seen many other coaches on TH-cam tell people what the questions are and a few tips on how to answer them, but very few coaches give you sample answers.

    • @MoAntphonyMo
      @MoAntphonyMo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CareerVidz hmmm interesting cause I don’t want to name names, but every time this particular question comes up. It’s either what you just described and give them how it is or it’s suppose to be what is your story of being a so and so. I can see what you mean by if you they want the “why?” They would just ask what got you into engineering? Etc.

    • @MoAntphonyMo
      @MoAntphonyMo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CareerVidz like what many videos say. This is definitely an open ended question for sure but there are many wrong and right ways to answer them so that’s why it’s a bit confusing on the right side at least for me
