I don’t care how old this video is I can’t stop watching it. My Cairn passed away in 2019. I’m tearing up as I’m talking about it. I just miss her so much. Please enjoy your babies. The puppy is a hoot.
And mine 12 Dec 2023 as hard as it is, thank you for this film it helps. In time i will have another but only this breed. I've had 4 Cairns so far. So beautiful and super clever wee things.
Thank you for posting your video. Cairns are awesome little creatures. My husband and I adopted two male cairns (Spirit & Buddy) that were born on 9/10/2005. On 7/21/21 at 3:35, we lost Spirit just a few days short of his 16th birthday. I am so missing that little fella. I guess that I expected him to live forever and he will forever be alive in my heart. My husbands dog Buddy is still alive and will turn 16 tomorrow. We know that he could pass at any time due to his age. However, as of right now, he is still going strong but we all know how quickly things can change. Buddy has been a blessing in disguise as he has been right there to comfort me through the hard times. I only wish that I had taken time to create a few videos of Spirit dancing, fetching the ball, playing frisbee and exchanging a few hugs and kisses. Thank you again for posting the video as a muddle my way through the healing process.
Thank you for your kind words. My thoughts are with you. Losing a sweet little loved one is such a big deal. Not easy, but life without them really isn’t living. I, myself, will keep going back for more love licks until I leave this world. Time should ease your pain a bit. Not totally, but to a degree that should be manageable. Cairn Terriers really are an incredible breed! 💖 I often look back on this video of my sweet babes that have now left me... so bittersweet. Sniff! It really does hurt when our woofers cross the Rainbow Bridge and it’s really hard to understand why their lives can’t be longer.
@@RattlesnakeGal I guess I should be counting my blessing as I had one cairn that made it to almost 16, one that is now 16. It has been a struggle though as I lost Spirit nearly 16 and Sassy my cat that was almost 21 in the same month. I have many good memories of the cat and my boys. Sassy use to slap the silly snot out of the two cairn pups so they had a healthy respect for her. I have truly been blessed!
Here we are 1/8/2023 already. Little Buddy is still alive at 17 years and 4 months. He has only partial eyesight and doesn’t get around well on his own any more. He requires higher maintenance as he needs assistance with toileting and getting from point A to point B. However, he is eating well and does not appear to be in any pain. He loves to cuddle so my husband and I love on him regularly as each day is another blessing and could be his last. I thought I would give you all an update on our little Buddy.
@@wildstardonovan5945 thank you for that update. 💕 I’ve come to understand that losing our beloved pets is part of life, stating that I’m very happy to know Buddy is still here giving cuddles. 💝
I’m in love with both…but the puppy’s a riot! Running after the ball and fitting under the couch on the run gets me every time I watch! Thank you, you made my day 🌺🐶🐶🌺
I know this is an old video but I enjoy it so much I have a cairn terrier named Otis Ray the same color he will be five years old January 15 of 22. I don’t know what I would do without him; my husband passed away and a year later I retired and my daughter didn’t want me to be alone and I did my research and I just wanted this type of dog so we went to New York and picked him up, I live in Massachusetts. So sorry to hear about Max♥️
My heart breaks for your loss. I’m so sorry. I can only imagine how difficult it is to lose your mate. Thrilled that you have a fur baby to keep your arms full and to help fill the hole in your heart. These Cairns can work some special magic. Such a special breed. Cyber hugs to you. Celia
We live in Mass and picked up a puppy in NY that looks just like little Bailey 10years ago. She is a wonderful dog, as I'm sure You find with Otis Ray: _Sorry to hear @ your husband.
Thanks for posting this so long ago, so that I would find it ten years later and chuckle at the antics of this little firebrand, Bailey on the long suffering Mac. I'm guessing that poor old Mac has gone burrowing amongst the clouds, looking for celestial bunnies to hunt. Bailey, i trust is still as spirited, but slightly slower and just as loved. I really enjoyed watching and I loved your accent. I wish you rainbows.
Thank you for your kind words! Sadly, My sweet Pretty Bitty Bailey had to be put down just nine months later. Broke my heart. It happened on New Years Eve, so it was a skeleton crew. They think her gall bladder burst. I miss my sweet babe and epic Mac each and every day. Love my two current pups. Cousins. Harry Drogo and Khaleesi. 8+ and almost 8. Times goes by so fast. I believe that MacKinnon was a once in a lifetime dog. He set the bar high. Bailey was a close second. My heart still aches with their passing.
@@RattlesnakeGal Awww. I'm so sorry if I brought back too many painful memories for you my friend. That is the one bummer of being a pet carer. I'm so glad though that you're still being loved by your little crew and loving them back in return. In these dark days they are just what is needed to keep you smiling and on your toes. Shine on my gentle lady. Stay safe, stay sane and stay happy.
@@RattlesnakeGalit’s great to have the memories though. I still go back and watch videos of our cairn running through the water sprinkler. Toby would do that for hours.
Nice video. I miss my Cairn Terrier soooo much. This video gave me a good feeling on the inside. I know it's old--but it is so tranquilizing for me. I will get another one in the near future.
thank you for the video. from about the age of 5 I had a cairn terrier called sandie,it never left my side growing up in all my adventures.thanks so much
I know this video is older but just now loving it! We lost our Dundee and Darci needed a pal. We bring puppy home next week. Loved how these darlings got to know one another. Wonderful, uplifting!
Thanks so much for your positive comment! My heart aches for your loss. Been there, done that. My vet had the sage advice of introducing your dog to the pup on neural ground. He also recommended the opposite sex dog. Every case is different and I wish you the best of luck with your new babe. He or she will never take the place of the love lost, but they will surely help heal your heart. Our MacKinnon has passed now, as has our Pretty Bitty Bailey. There isn’t a day that goes by that they aren’t thought of. I still shed tears every now and then for them. Paw prints on my heart. Best of luck!!! Sincerely, Celia
@@RattlesnakeGal so sorry for your loss with the 2. What a great funny video to watch. I've got a cairn his name is Murphy. His 10 next month he comes to my door every morning when I'm not working banging on it for a walk who's fault is that ha,ha. When he passes on I know I will have a tear but straight away I will get over it quick cause I know he had a AWESOME LIFE!! Some pets don't get that and at least yours had a wonderful life 2.
So gorgeous. Have been trying to find one for the last couple of years, but they are all out of range of my budget. My service dog, Tala, really wants a little friend too. Thank you for posting these. 😊
Cute little pup & adult Cairn! Underneath the coat of Cairn can be the hidden heart of a lion. From the Latin terra, for earth, most terriers were originally bred to "go to ground" after burrowing vermin, larger rodents and even foxes. The hunting instinct runs deep in most terrier breeds & has been selectively bred into them for hundreds of years. If you want your Cairn to coexist with cats & other small animals you have to socialize them very early on. Even then it's a gamble & fatal accidents can & do occur. A terrier, for the most part, is geared for the hunt & is a nonstop BIG DOG in a little dogs body. They're really energetic & left unsupervised can get in all kinds of trouble.
Yes, both are Cairn Terriers. I’ve since lost both fur babies and need to share my next two. They’re what I call my pumpernickel pups! Gorgeous black and grey brindles. Glad you liked my video. Bailey was the best thing we did for Mac. It was so much fun!
Mac is doing pretty well! We got our Cairn puppy--with a girl dachshund 11 years old and another one 4 years old. The older one welcomed him, but retired to her private spot. The younger one hid and watched him. Next morning, she'd decided the puppy was a squeaky toy, and began poking him to make him squeak! It took about two weeks of this before she decided he was her own living playmate, and they've been inseparable ever since. Great fun to see them play together. Love your video. Sorry to learn that Mac went to Rainbow Bridge. Definitely two Cairns to see them together, will look for your more recent videos.
Yes I do plan an posting more. I am very pleased that you like my video!!! Sadly, Mac had health issues crop up and we have lost my dear boy. We are just now about to get Bailey a puppy. Possibly this week or we will wait for an expected litter that will be ready at the beginning of June, so stay tuned! :-D. Two Cairns are better than one!
this is still one of my favorite videos on youtube. it reminds me so much of the two cairns i had growing up. they're just delightful little bundles of fur and mischief. do you plan to upload any more?

At first Mac was afraid of the Roomba. A treat on top as it started it’s ready set go tune, fixed that problem right away!
