Thanks for the info about travelling to Thailand for foreigners. It'd be great for Thais to be involved in the topic. Oh, and I love watching your food tasting videos.
It’s convenient to have shuttle service. Like you mentioned, it’s definitely different from traditional tuktuk. They also don’t drive crazy or fast 💨😁😁
Thanks for the information. It would give us a heads up before we head to Thailand. Would you do a video when you both travel out from Bangkok? Like when you both travel to pattaya or Hua Hin? Because it would be good information for people who want to explore places outside of Bangkok.
btw, nice apartment! the first time i ever took a tuktuk (haha, "took a tuktuk"), my heart leapt out of my chest cos the guy went full throttle through heavy traffic!
Taxi is cheaper than Tuk Tuk. Don't go if the driver do not use Meter. Line Taxi, Grab, Bolt, all are convenient, they can pick you up at meeting point.
Yes, thanks for the suggestion! 🩵 We didn’t add it because we wanted to cover things many people don’t cover but is needed. Converter/adapter too is a must!! 👍
Service Charge in Thailand are not included in the VAT calculation (and usually will calculate after VAT included price) and will go to pools that distributed with employees, so you don't need to Tip if service charged are included. Yeah is somewhat like mandatory tips (some services you can ask to opt out from it if you not satisfied with service).
for massage, tells the masseurs to go easy first, as seasoned massage clients tend to prefer heavy and masseurs know that, so they cater to that. as for restaurant tip, I usually tip changes or sometime 20 baht. the rest is just common sense.
For Thai massage, there are many types. If it is a relaxation massage, it is similar to a spa massage, which is relatively safer for injury. As for advanced Thai massage, it is in the form of ancient medicine. In ancient times, ancient doctors used this type of massage together with other treatments. Including the use of herbs together with massage. And there is a type that is similar to massage but just uses pressure on a certain point of the muscle. And uses herbs in a cloth bag tied into a ball and is often heated or warmed to press on that point. The next step is the part that often causes injury if the person being massaged and the masseur are not familiar with it. If you have been to Wat Pho, you will have seen statues showing various poses. Thai people call this type of massage "bending body". If you want to explain it in an easy-to-understand way, it is similar to yoga. The masseur will use strange poses with you, which will be very painful. Even Thais often say that it is just a normal massage, no need to bend body. These poses and this type of massage are the most famous all over the world and can really help cure. There are schools teaching it in many countries. In Japan, there is an annual competition. And Wat Pho is the first medical university in Thailand that still teaches today.
For taxis. In Thailand, there is a law that requires taxis to use meters and to refuse passengers. But of course, there are many violators and non-compliance with the law. Even among Thais. The price is agreed upon beforehand. It is like renting a car with a driver. The driver will not accept other passengers except you. Therefore, if it is a distance in Bangkok, you should not give a fixed price. According to the law, drivers must only use meters. If tourists encounter a driver who asks you to pay a fixed price, you should secretly record a video or take a picture of the driver's ID card on the front of the car. Then report it to the police or tourist police to avoid confrontation with the driver. The exception is tuk-tuks, which do not have meters, so they charge a price according to the driver's wishes. That is why Thais nowadays tend not to get into tuk-tuks. And tuk-tuk drivers only want to serve foreigners because they are easily cheated.
Yes, we get Thai massage about once every other month to detox but still can’t get used to it. We enjoy getting foot and shoulder combo because it’s relaxing and feel wonderful 😁👍

there's no tipping culture in Southeast Asia and most of Asia. waiters and staff are already paid full wages + bonus. that was the thing i hated the most when i went to North America. i hated tipping so much. haha. because i'm bad at maths.
Oh yeah. Tipping in the States is crazy. Making things more expensive than what they are already. Some places in Bangkok too charge service fees and VAT like US. Gets expensive sometimes.
@@ChovyTravel Not some, but all places that pay taxes must either include everything in their prices or add VAT and service charges on top. It must be clear on the menu which option they’ve chosen; otherwise, it's illegal. By law, all items must clearly declare their prices on the menu. I'm not sure about English menus, but in Thai menus, they make it clear what’s included. No place wants to be fined by the authorities for non-compliance. As for street food vendors or any place that look cheap, you don’t see them adding extra charges because they operate in a "grey" area. They don’t keep formal accounts and therefore don’t pay full taxes. Their employees are often from poorer neighboring countries (Thailand has about 5 million migrant workers). As a foreigner, you might not notice, but Thai people can usually tell who is a local and who is not. This "grey" or "dark grey" business sector makes up about 30-40% of Thailand’s total GDP. So, if you look at Thailand’s official GDP, it doesn’t include the grey sector, meaning Thailand is actually wealthier than it appears on paper. Many Thais prefer keeping it this way because they are comfortable with the system.

I love, love, love your videos!! I have a few questions for you…. What type of visa are you guys on? Can you recommend a visa agent in Bangkok? Hope to hear from you soon! ❤
Thank you 😊 well, we’re not a visa expert but if you’re not looking for a permanent residency, probably go with DTV or ED visa. We haven’t found a good agency yet so can’t recommend one. 😅 ones we’ve contacted, they all seemed okay. No one in particular stood out.
Sunscreen isn't expensive in Thailand. Thailand has free trade for cosmetics with China, so international brands with factories in China or ASEAN countries are cheaper! Other options include local brands. In Thailand, brands from the USA, France, Australia, or Japan tend to be more expensive. Thailand imposes tax barriers on products from those countries, so if you buy La Roche-Posay made in France or Banana Boat made in Japan, of course, it's expensive. However, if you choose L'Oreal made in China or Thai brands such as Cutepress, Mistine, Mizumi, DMP, or Vaseline made in Thailand, they're much cheaper compared to products from France, Australia, Japan, or the USA. Sunscreen are basic ingrediant I dont see the different between the ability of sun protection between Thai brand and other internation brand so please support local business too.
What is your favorite Thai brand for sunscreen? 🧴 We honestly have so many from Korea (we stocked up for minimum 6 months) but would like to try if you have a favorite/recommendation! 😀
Water from the source is generally clean, safe, and drinkable by WHO standard. However, it often becomes contaminated as it travels through the pipes!. Thai people typically avoid drinking tap water of they do they will filter it first, filter is very very cheap in Thailand, and even those Thai who travel abroad often won’t drink tap water in countries where avertised that it is safe to drink because they aren't used to it. I can also tell the difference in taste between tap water and bottled water. In Bangkok, it’s rare to get sick from tap water I've using it my entire life never have any issue, cause no one drink it lol and also because they added chlorine to it like world standard suggested. The issue arises when some condominium managements don’t do their job properly. They store water in tanks where the chlorine evaporates for too long, allowing bacteria and other organisms to grow inside the tank thats got nothing to do with Bangkok water work, which was reported in the news a few months ago, normally each condo with the tank have to do the monthly test for chlorin level if it too less then they have to add more Still, most people use tap water for purposes other than drinking. The biggest concern is the rust and dirt that accumulate from old pipes breaking down when it happen you will never know. This is why I don’t drink tap water even when I travel abroad. I’ve been to European countries, each restaurant offer free tap water such as in Sweden Denmark Finland Norwar France Spain Italy I tried their tap water, but it smells like chlorine and pipe rust all together, and I don’t think it’s good for long-term consumption so I would rather pay 2-5 euro for a bottle of mineral water.
That totally makes sense. We try not to drink Tap water period anywhere we go. You’re absolutely right! Even if the water is filtered, going through the dirty old pipes makes the water dirty. Best advice for people, buy bottled water 😅
Hello 👋 take the bus from Ekkamai bus station. You don’t need to buy it online. It’s actually cheaper to buy it in person. maps.app.goo.gl/WH8KbECocQtoEMhL7?g_st=ic There are many options for the buses but we liked the big bus. We also have a video on Pattaya and you can see it there too. 😀
It seems your visa status is a secret. I didn’t mean any harm. However, the creators I follow usually share their visa experiences/ agents with followers so that we could get a better understanding which was the only reason I asked. In any event….. Live happily in the kingdom! 😊
No, we’re on a ED Visa. Trying to learn Thai Language while we’re here. Honestly, it depends on your situation but if we decide to stay longer than the 1yr visa… We might consider DTV but we heard it’s so new that things might change in regards to it. Are you planning to come to Thailand and live here?
In case you haven't caught up with this news yet. But I don't know which type of your visas in present. Anyway, if it's not useful to you, you still can share this news to your friends abroad. 💚 The new "Entry" regulation which will be started on 1st of December, 2024... All "tourists visa exemption" will be given only single entry for 60 days passed. If you need multiple entry, you need to apply for tourists visa outside Thailand before first arrival. If not, you can request to extend 60 days visa exemption once for 30 days more while staying in Thailand only. And it will be impossible to leave Thailand and come back without multiple entry requirements before.
Lol you’re right! Guess it didn’t dawn on us since almost all restrooms we’ve seen had options (some squat ones with standard toilets and only been using toilets 🚽) 😁
I have to warn for vegan people thai have 2 different thing "เจ" this is vegan no meat no milk no egg but other one "มังสวิรัติ" this type of food only not have meat but it can have milk or egg and most thai people think vegan is the second one so i reccommend to ask "this have egg or milk?" not ask "this is vegan?"
Thank you so very much for sharing! Really appreciate it and hopefully vegans get this message because I would have to agree. I think it would be difficult for Vegans
Good job guys for recommendation before travel to Thailand. My #18 please please don't think you come to Thailand for sex sand and sun .as am Thai lived in the u.s 34 years i knew that so many s different places have same situation.
There are actually pros and cons in every country on this planet,Thailand known as the 3rd world in the eyes of visitors, but the fact that it will be proven until ones can make it.Well, your previous info prior to entering Bangkok were horrific and pessimistic and as a local Thai living in Bangkok,I've always shrugged off whatever outlook though, due to perfectionism is highly likely boring sometimes!
For taxi First thing say”go to #$@meter OK” if driver say bla bla just say thank you closed the door for short distance. Long distance grab are better for me. BTS&MRT is up to prefer if you have stuffs to carry.I was taking grab from hua hin to Bangkok only cause me 2200 B for 3 of us+tips 2500B exchange at $1=35B pick up at the door drop of at the door. If you has a carry on take a grap to bus station catch a bus take another taxi to hotel will course you almost a 1000bahtor more/person but 2 of you for side viewing (could be just a buffalo on the field) you can asked driver to stop on the way for bathroom or get some drink (depend on the driver just ask first) most of them say ok I think is very convenient that how I did when I was in Thailand. I figured I spend $ for grab=taxi=train. For tuk tuk must say no no no most of them are rude and cheat we spend 10 weeks in Bangkok only take tuk tuk twice that is enough. I just bla bla my experience in Thailand like when I go to wet market I take a tuk tuk I guess the other doesn’t like fresh seafood smell or durian.
Wow! Thank you for sharing! 🥰🫰❤️🙏. Not bad at all for a Grab Hua Hin to Bangkok considering it’s so far away. We also have only rode the Tuk Tuk once. We found it was definitely over-priced. However, very convenient. It really depends on your preference.
We are comparing it to what we’re used to in US and Korea. We use water filters in the house and they turn yellow than brown within just days. That’s why we recommend people NOT to drink tap water. It’s always better safe than sorry, especially when you’re traveling to a new country. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though. 🙏
Well, the water is clean from the source. They can test it a million times, and it would look perfect-better than the world standard. But the pipes that connect the source to households? Not so much. You can drink it if you live very close to the waterworks. FYI, condos in Bangkok store water in tanks, so if the pipes break down and dirt gets into the system, the condominium's tank becomes contaminated as well none condo would pay more to filter the water for the residences its none of tgeir business. If the water is stored for too long, the chlorine evaporates, and more needs to be added to prevent anything from growing inside the tank. Some condo management teams are too lazy to clean their tanks annually due to most Thai owner dont really live there by themself but rent out to foreigner like this couple. Recently, Bangkok just replaced its old pipes the whole city, and you can imagine the process-the rust and cracks falling into the water. It's no wonder there’s so much rust in the water. You can drink it you wont die right a way but maybe in 10 years vesical will show up...

Best advice for people, buy bottled water 😅
i'm here!
Hello 👋
Lovely 🙏🏻💯🇹🇭💕🐘🫶🏻
🥰🫰❤️🙏
Hi guys like what you are saying from BKK to Pataya only 200 baths how do I get there by which transports thanks please let me know
Hello 👋 take the bus from Ekkamai bus station. You don’t need to buy it online. It’s actually cheaper to buy it in person. maps.app.goo.gl/WH8KbECocQtoEMhL7?g_st=ic
There are many options for the buses but we liked the big bus.
The new "Entry" regulation which will be started on 1st of December, 2024...
Thanks for the great info! 👍👍

I'm Bangkokian drink boiled tap water.
boiled water is definitely better than straight from the tap!
You did not mention squat toilets.:-(
Lol you’re right! Guess it didn’t dawn on us since almost all restrooms we’ve seen had options (some squat ones with standard toilets and only been using toilets 🚽) 😁
i'm a water/jetspray guy, so no need toilet paper. haha.
and i don't do massages. i have an aversion to strangers touching me.
Lol 😝 we love getting massages 💆 but can understand how it can feel strange having someone touch you
I have to warn for vegan people thai have 2 different thing "เจ" this is vegan no meat no milk no egg but other one "มังสวิรัติ" this type of food only not have meat but it can have milk or egg and most thai people think vegan is the second one so i reccommend to ask "this have egg or milk?" not ask "this is vegan?"
That’s a great one!! We don’t like people who don’t have respect for other countries and cultures. 🤦🏻♂️
Yes, agreed. Anywhere you go has pros and cons. We hope these tips can help people enjoy Thailand more and be safe ☺️
What is it with Americans and tipping? The best idea is keep tipping to the USA. It is a historic throwback from slavery, and not relevant elsewhere.
For us, It’s a way of showing thanks for their hard work, great service and our appreciation.

สวัสดีครับ
Hello 👋
We are comparing it to what we’re used to in US and Korea. We use water filters in the house and they turn yellow than brown within just days. That’s why we recommend people NOT to drink tap water. It’s always better safe than sorry, especially when you’re traveling to a new country. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though. 🙏
Thank you 🙏
@@ChovyTravel yes I totally agree with you.Even us thai people never drink tap water. It's totally undrinkable.
