Thank you for the video. Although I am not a bilateral amputee, I had a right leg above knee amputation on 9/20. I got my prosthetic leg on 1/21. Nobody ever taught me how to get into a wheel chair from the floor. I had to figure out how to do that myself. Now I am walking with a cane. Nobody ever taght me how to get up from the floor with my robo leg either. I have used your tips in this video to get up from the floor. And your tips work well for me. Thank you again.
What about a video about the proper way to get up from the ground if you are a below the knee amputee. I had to ask for help because no one has ever taught me how ir worked with me. I am about 2 years into my having a prosthetic leg. Thank you
I just got a prototype prosthetic leg to use before I get my permanent one. are you supposed to feel pressure on the lower inside of your knee when you use it? sometimes I feel pressure & if I use it for a little bit it starts to feel like pain. also, I can feel it hyperextend my knee at times.

Yes. I am double amputee and have both an AK and a BK. My AK side took a few months before I built up strength to feel more confident and stop worrying about hyperextending. The pain probably ranges from person to person, my biggest fear when I first started was snapping my knee from the side, so I usually wear a knee brace.

Sorry to hear about the struggle to learn, but glad we were able to help in a small way.
As a uni-LAKA, I never thought about this before since I was a teen.... until I got older. Now, at age 59, it's a big deal. Thanks for your video!
Glad to be a resource to you! You're welcome!
