Bricky, if you ever see this then you should know that certain laws and research can synergies with each other to increase outputs and effects. All you have to do is figure them out if you try again, might help you out in the full game if they keep it in.
Neat that you have an Engineer having a mental breakdown as a loading screen. (The joke is that the Engineers in the first game looked a lot like Dr. Darling. And Trotsky.)
This is looking pretty fantastic. Its lacking some of that punk, the steam machines, the balloons and all. But im glad its not just more of the same, frostpunk 1 was amazing but this is looking like an amazing continuation.
There’s these air balloon gantries used for transport that most people that have played the beta so far missed, as for the big steam machines it looks like that’s all stuff from outside the demo.
My only hope is that they go HARDER with the art deco desilpunk. The genetic bold text should be MORE!!! Hopefully the UI will get a better feel like the first one.
This is, no joke, going to be my pick of GOTY. I'm gonna put my foot in my mouth and call it now. This game (should it be everything it's advertising) is going to be so awesome and fun that I will play it for eternity.
I dunno. Crusader Kings 2 tried "laws will be passed despite what you want." It went _really_ bad. If that's gonna be the central tenet of the game - and with that UI? I AM NOT PRE-ORDERING. Never ever pre-order.
I do agree with Helldiver's 2. I love that game and it's gamer friendly means however for me, a story heavy game (that's very replayble) vs. a live service game will always be outranked. Not to say it's a terrible game, it's great. It is beyond great. But if this game holds true to what's it's promising, then I can see myself playing this for years on end, while HD2 depends on the dev team. @@jdog345
Collecting and compressing coal dust is a great way to make full use of a coal deposit as just in real life even coal dust is great for not only heating but also in metal casting as it sucks up any fumes.
bit late but here is the full answer there is 12 factions, i believe 4 usually show up per game and there is 6 moderate starting factions and 6 extremist offshoots of the moderates.
This UI is so bad compared to the first game. It's just scattered around the screen and it just looks worse because its plain white, of which the game already has enough.
Hope there's an option to have at least Dark Mode so the UI is not bright enough as a snow, and maybe a good arrangement to the UI more but yeah Beta Version do facilitate feedbacks and i do agree on this one
@@DimasTWD A dark mode would indeed be the very least they could do. But if you take a screenshot from both games' UI the main thing from the first game is how the main mechanic of the game: temperature is highlighted in the middle. All the resources are directly next to it, compact in the top middle of your screen. This just has bits and pieces everywhere and it looks more like a generic city builder UI. Temps displayed in a small window like its no big deal. The UI in the first game made the feeling of the cold more immersive. I want this game to succeed but the deluxe edition early access nonsense with bad UI design and a price increase of 50% or more than double for the deluxe isn't looking good for a sequel.
@@MrLuc237 I like how you're judging the entire game on UI design, lmao. Come back when you can formulate your thoughts on the rest of the game's mechanics and why it matters because guess what, the UI is designed around the mechanics and intentions.
@@dragonlordtux You're missing the whole point! I'm talking about the UI only. The rest of the game doesn't matter in the point i'm making. There's all kinds of empty gaps in the top bar for no reason. Everything is spread out on your screen with a white bar above and underneath the screen while your focus on the game should be centered. It's litearlly simple design flaws a lot of developers make. It reminds me of dead by daylight at one point scattering all the stats around the screen which was so bad they reverted it not long after. Games like this already have a lot of info to give, that info should be accessable by looking at a set point on the screen and then going back to the game. At around 2hr 34 mins you see the temp go from -40 to 80. When that happened in the first game the temp UI would become more frozen and really making you feel like oh snap we got a huge problem. In this game the numbers change from -40 to -80 and that's it. It just happens, no feedback on that sh*t actually hit the fan. Just simply google frostpunk 1 UI and compare it. Tell me this UI is better than the first game without rose tinted glasses on.
I like where this is going so far... but the UI is off putting for me ngl, it just doesn´t go well with frostpunk, I mean it makes it look like a frostpunk simulator as how streamline it looks, lacks that personality like the first one. Also it will make my eyes bleed on how bright it might look when playing for real in the sense of not a video of course.
@@Generic_Noob after years of development and experience they had on the original and making this i would not have expected for them to have such andowngrade, no matter the size of the city, look at manor lords it was made by single developer before they expanded, and this has a studio behind it for years and then they decide to remove some of the most important things people enjoyed in the original and do something that is even less detailed. the district system is horrible and just kills the enjoyment of planning your city in detail, also the detail where you could spectate your citizens working etc is just minimal now. simply they made it feel like a table top game
@@CROengineer i've seen divided opinions about this topic, for me though it works, i mean you can still hear the usual announcement that makes you feel that the city is alive, you can still see the people at the center, and don't forget we still have to see the railways and hunter zeppelins going around, people yap about selecting one guy and i bet after playing like 3 or 4 times they forget that they could do that
The UI is horrible. I sense someone spent too much time researching on the right "gradients" than checking for simple legibility. In FP1 you could build a clear mind map of the current stare, how much is being produced, what to research next, how many weeks of coal etc you have left and so on. This is a fucking Disney Pixar style super designed ornate BS UI that is more confusing than useful.
