FOUNDER - THE LATE K P PAUL
In 1939, K P Paul started his career with ‘Popular Washing Home’. He dared to stray from tradition and reaped success in six months. This enterprise, a reminder of his daring nature, proved to be the backbone of his life and business in the years to come. He was a born leader and believed in employee empowerment and satisfaction. He encouraged employees to deliver impeccable customer service. K P Paul was a visionary. In 1941,he diversified his business into tyre vulcanizing and battery restoration. When the World War II ended, he found ample opportunities in the spare parts business by procuring the surplus spare parts from military vehicles. In 1944, he established Popular Automobiles, which has grown to be one of India’s largest spare parts dealership and stores. The business grew exponentially and instantly catapulted him to fame.
He then expanded his repertoire into imported and new automobile parts, expanding across India with offices in Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata. Paul was an entrepreneur-par excellence and entrepreneurship is the key word for the growth of any potential business. Through his business, he employed thousands of people and ensured that their families are self-sustained. Hundreds of his former employees are successful businessmen today. He did not believe in charity, instead motivated people to work hard and succeed. He was the epitome of dedication, hard work and humility. His humble demeanor had won many hearts and behind this successful man was his committed workforce and loyal customers.
