- Wanted to review risks of buying auctions on liquidation.com and how I mitigate those risks. I only buy RETURN auctions. I never buy salvaged items. If an item is worth fixing, then ill put the time into fixing it. www.liquidatio...
Got lucky in 2016 and made a killing. 2017 was ok and took a break in 2018 to burn through some inventory. Wanted to get back into again ths year. Anywho, they have gone down hill over the years. Just a tip. Divide the msrp by six and use that as a guideline for a base price. Some people are bidding ridiculous amounts on lots. Either they know something i dont or are newbies.
I agree the lot prices are crazy. I have to be careful I don't get bit. I like the msrp division by 6, ill have to try that when I start searching for more. Thank you for watching

I know this video is really old, but just wanted to ask if you tried those expensive 990 Pro headphones with a headphone amplifier. I’m pretty sure you need one to hear anything from your phone. Just a thought in case you get any in the future.
Kris T. Stuff that’s exactly what I would say is wrong. Those are meant to be run off a sound card with a computer. I own the same headphones

Potato yeah you will hear music depending on what chip is driving the phone/mp3. I just needs enough power to make any noise and that can vary widely depending on the device

Nope. When made this video it was possible to make decent money. It still was a crap shoot. Now the electronic lots are junk.

Have you ever bought a salvage pallet or salvage anything? What were your results?
If you buy salvage try buying multiple of the same things. It's pretty sketch on the electronic side of things. If you don't have the skill to take 5 broken things and turn it into 1 refurbished thing then don't even bother. If you do have those skills, time, and money then go for it.

You mentioned soldering. What type of repairs are you mainly doing when you decide to fix something? Is it soldering or is it something like popping a bezzle open and replacing a simple part? Thanks for anything you can tell me! Your videos are a GREAT help and I am looking to buy my first lot soon!!!
+BBrzy glad to help! Sometimes if something isn't working correctly or shorted I'll open it up. If a wire is loose and needs a new internal matter (which I'll swipe from another broken unit), then I will solder them back on or get it functioning. Nothing major just simple wire reconnection or switch outs

The thing about soldering is risk of electrical shock/injury/fire liability with the buyer. I had liability insurance just in case. People love to sue and damn if it's a defective solder joint they should. Personally I recommend estate auctions.

Well the salvage category contains mostly broken items, and unless they are your sort of expertise to fix, I would imagine you'd be wasting a lot of money.
You are correct. At the moment i don't have time to fix multiple items. I've been tempted to pull the trigger on a salvage auction but that is multiplying my risk

Ok another question for you so I'm thinking I only have like 6 ratings on eBay if I was to buy a box and start posting on eBay that's my only personal risk that I won't be able to sell items cause I have really no feedback?any pointers on that situation besides putting up good and the best prices up
As long as your 100% I don't see any issues. I see a ton of new sellers on ebay with low ratings. Everyone's gotta start somewhere. If your prices are what people want to pay and your high rated in my opinion you should be ok. If you're unsure of what you can get for items i would start with auctions. If you want to get rid of something or are ok with the price you'd get for it then do a Buy in Now (BIN)
Ok I'm going to buy my first package in about a week from liquidation.com any tips on how to get a good box like right now I copy and paste the UPC code and put it in the Amazon seller app to see how much it's selling for there is that a good way you think or how do you know your getting a good box besides you know what your looking for cause you have been buying them and reselling like someone for me the first package I'm buying how could I tell it's a good one?
+Dominick Currie I'll show you how I track my listings but make sure when you list your items that your total sum of items listed is equal to or greater than what you bought the auction for. You at least want to make your money back if not more. That's where the line falls between buy it now and auctions
Hey so how do you find the best box to buy like how do you know or find out what items are worth before buying the box to make sure your going to make a little money on it?
Dominick Currie in the beginning I would browse tons of auctions and pull items off the manifest. I would then search selling prices of those items on eBay and make sure the sum of the selling prices outweighed the auction/shipping price
