one of my favorite songs, beautifully played. Thank you
Nochmals Danke!
I'm a guitarist but your piano transcription is absolutely wonderful, great job Christian!
Great work, Christian!!! Thank you very much for sharing this excellent piece here!
Extraordinary work! What an ear you have!
Hello, I tried to email you some time ago because I'm really interested by getting the pdf, but the email adrtess in the description didn't seem to work. Would it still be possible of you to send it if you still read these comments?
You have nailed it. So perfect. Congrats!
I am listening all your genesis version at the piano, and one is better than the other, high cuality!! thanks!!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoy!
Christian have you perfomed carpert crawlers? I coudnt found playing by you
Haven't transcribed Carpet Crawlers, since you need another instrument to play the very prominent sung melody to have everything bass, comping and the very prominent and important melody. I might think about a solution similar to "Hairless Heart" where the melody is underneath and below the keyboard arpeggios. Meanwhile, here is a great tutorial by Matt Riddle: th-cam.com/video/Yq716D1JBAw/w-d-xo.html
thank again, i have just listened the matt riddle's version but he hasnt the sheet music, a pitty
Nice work !
Thank you very much for posting it!
"We need not flatters," he cried.
Flatterers...
Brilliant.
Sounds super spiffy nice through my super spiffy headphones. Can-Utility is quite the challenge.
troublesomecorsair Glad you are enjoying it. Yep: Can-Utility is quite complex. More early Genesis transcribed for piano by yours truly on its way.
Fantastic - thanks for posting!!! Sounds great! :-)
Thank you!
Eccellente!!!
Your email does not work, i tried to send you one, but it came back! I want the PDF your Transcription ist so good!
wow wow wow.
Thank you :-)
Gorgeous and masterful rendition.....do you have a video of you performing this? Would love to see that dude...Wow....really Wow!
Thanks a lot! What you hear is my hand edited virtual piano from the MIDI that came out of the notation program, to make sure it doesn't sound robotic, yet it's in sync with the moving cursor.
Of course I transcribed everything sitting on the piano, always making sure I can play it, as I always do. Well I want my transcriptions to be playable by a reasonably accomplished pianist (or better :-) ). It would take me some time to practice and play it flawlessly, but it should be no problem.
Just had to stop back and comment on this again....I not a musician by any stretch of the imagination...mater of fact I'm a hack at best. I play mostly acoustic guitar but, I've been messing with keys for the last 2 years or so. It was Idolhands50 who told me about this transcription originally....I've listened to David Meyers Versions of Genesis songs and think they are done very well but, you capture the essence of Genesis songs more to my liking. This is far more enjoyable to me than Meyers interpretation. Bravo once again Dude! P.S. There's another guy on here Electrik Hob I think is his name....who post transcriptions as well of Genesis songs....His Mad Man Moon and One For The Vine sound excellent...perhaps you've heard them....Thanks again!
+Rob Ber - Yes of course I know Elektrik Hob's channel. His transcriptions are top notch!
UP
Hallo Christian, ich habe versucht, dich per Mail wegen der Noten für Can Utility und Anyway zu kontaktieren, aber die Adresse scheint tot zu sein. Ich versuche es mal auf diesem Weg
Someone's transcribed midi has an e in the bass and also the f# in the last song´s part in the key of B major, he plays the e in an strong beat i dont remember if it's a quaver note, but the song remains in B, so i am confused if the last part is in the key of B or if is E lydian, by the way, I thought your transcription was very accurate
Hi Christian, brilliant transcription. This is a really difficult piece to play. Would it be a grade 8 piece? It has to be at least a grade six I think.
Thank you. Well I don't think in grades to be honest. I always take care about the fingering so that it is physically possible to play without any excessive jumps or thumb passages. The tricky part is mostly reading and the exact timing. I never make things difficult just for the sake of it. I even made some adjustments to the parts representing guitar arpeggios, to make it playable on the piano while still fully representing that Genesis sound. I also refrained from including the short appogiaturas (grace notes) on Mike's awesome ostinato bass lines, since it would add nothing on the piano other than unnecessary difficulty. Thanks again for your kind words.
It’s a great transcription but really nothing much without the rest of the parts.
